Canceled flight leading to extra cost, and no compensation

I recently experienced a flight cancellation with this airline, and the handling of the situation was completely unacceptable. My connecting flight was cancelled, and the only alternative offered was more than 24 hours later, completely unsuitable for my travel plans. I had to book another flight on my own to reach my destination.

Despite multiple emails and reminders over a month, the airline has failed to provide any meaningful response or guidance regarding compensation. The lack of timely communication and proper customer support is extremely disappointing.

I would strongly caution anyone planning to travel with this airline, passenger rights and basic assistance in case of disruption are not respected.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Biman Airlines

I recently travelled with my family on a Biman Airlines flight to Sylhet, and it was honestly one of the worst airline experiences we’ve ever had. For a flight that costs an absolute rip-off, the service was shockingly poor.

The food was disgusting, especially the cod meal — completely inedible. Even the tea was cold, which shows how little care was put into the service. When I complained, the air stewardess just said “sorry” and walked away, with no attempt to resolve anything.

The cabin crew had no time for passengers. They rushed through the service as quickly as possible and then disappeared to the back of the plane, where they spent most of the flight sleeping or chatting. It felt like they simply didn’t care about anyone on board.

Travelling with my family, I expected at least basic courtesy and professionalism, but we were extremely disappointed. For the price we paid, the whole experience was a complete waste of money.

I will seriously reconsider ever flying with Biman Airlines again.

One of the best airlines

One of the best airlines. I’ve travelled with Biman since 1998. I’ll not change to another airline. Biman prices are high but this is justifiable with the service they provide. Most of the people writing bad reviews because they feel they are entitled to royalty. Morons can’t get their acts right yet act like they own Biman. Simple advice is to look elsewhere. Biman don’t need your money. Half of the people flying are uneducated.

I am so upset about the refund I…

I am so upset about the refund I received today,I applied within 24hours and I explained that I received two tickets for your website issue.I have another ,you still cut my 180 pounds for your website issue,Very disappointing .Bad customer service .Will try my best to avoid biman Bangladesh airlines from now onward .

Excellent return business class LHR/DAC/ZYL/DAC

Have just completed a return business class flight LHR/DAC - ZYL/LHR and I have to say that despite some negative reviews I found the experience was excellent on both routes. Ticket price including the current online discount was excellent value for money paying only a half of what Middle east airlines currently demand - and for a 'direct' flight.
LHR and ZYL checkin staff were efficient courteous and helpful and boarding was managed efficiently.
In flight services both ways was good with helpful friendly courteous cabin crew and menu options were good.
Obviously the interior decor on the 787/9s are now looking tired and dated given the age and passenger volumes and I understand Biman are looking to acquire new aircraft in the foreseeable future to add to their fleet.
As I have mentioned before I really think that if Biman are to attract a more diverse expatriate passenger base they really do need to look at the possibility of at least ONE direct flight each week to LHR/DAC/LHR if they are to benefit from the new T3 as a genuine hub/ transit for SE Asia. Simply accommodating demand from Sylhet passengers will not improve their brand or status globally.
However Biman really do need to define was their marketing /brand priorities are if they are to prosper and expand on the global stage.

Do not buy online

Do not buy online
I paid nearly £5000. The money left my bank however, due to some kind of system error at Biman they failed to generate tickets. When I contacted them they keep passing me from one person to another person. Finally found a link to request refund but biman states it could take 2 months to get refund. Such a poor service

My mother-in-law traveled from Bangladesh to London Heathrow, Terminal 4. As an elderly woman traveling alone, she requested wheelchair assistance at check-in in Bangladesh but was unfortunately refused. The Biman check-in staff informed her that she should have booked the wheelchair service at the time of purchasing her tickets. However, it is important to note that other airlines provide wheelchair assistance for elderly passengers regardless of prior arrangements.
This lack of support from Biman was disappointing and does not align with the standards of care typically extended to elderly travelers.

The flight was from chattagram Bangladesh to dhaka.The lights were broken and everything was dirty.The cabin crew said they would take the trash 2 times but they didn't.The landing and take-off was the worst.I love biman Bangladesh airlines and this is the first time I'm writing a bad review about them.

Crazy cancel fees

Most extortionate cancellation fees ever. Ripping people off when cancelling a flight due to medical conditions 1 month prior to the flight. Biman is a joke.

Warning:A Disappointing Experience with Unacceptable Refund Practices

My recent experience ( ticket ref- AXBUSR) with Bangladesh Biman was deeply disappointing. The airline is run my Bangladesh state owned corrupt mafia syndicate.The airline's refund process proved to be incredibly frustrating and riddled with unexpected issues.
Despite clearly outlining the applicable refund policy and the expected amount, I received a significantly lower refund than anticipated. This discrepancy, while seemingly small, raises serious concerns about the airline's transparency and commitment to fair treatment of its passengers.
Furthermore, the lack of clear communication and the difficulty in resolving this issue quickly and efficiently further eroded my confidence in Bangladesh Biman. This experience has left me with a negative impression of the airline and significantly impacted my overall travel experience.

Need more improvements..!

They've made the Boing-787 like nothing. Some airlines' 777 seem nicer.
Interior's Not Clean enough. The meals are good. Also, the crews are friendly specially for the seniors. Good for elderly.

The entertainments are garbage. Pretty old stuff like movies and dramas. They have almost zero Bangladeshi content.

They are thieves with disgusting airline services

The food seemed like they were served from a local tea stall. A bun with “sauce”, two biscuits and a mango bar on an international flight! My luggage was opened and they opened the little handbags inside the luggage and stole all the finger rings I brought as gift for my family. I know it was stolen because all my handbags were wide open when I opened the luggage to give the gifts to my family.

Disgusting airline with disgusting…

Disgusting airline with disgusting staff. Stuck on the plane for 3 hours without setting off from Manchester to Sylhet. Barely any updates, no food for the elderly and no staff. Making one excuse after another. They are pure evil.

Biman are ripping people off who travel…

Biman are not prividing value for money for people who travel to sylhet from London. They don't let any other airline operate from London to sylhet and the ticket price are ridiculously expensive from between £1500 to£1700. They know people will pay as they can't book with any other airline. It's a monopoly. The in flight entertainment does t work ; food was below average and cabin crew were just rude and not very polite

Sylhetis are being taken for a ride

This company is taking advantage of people travelling to Bangladesh, Sylhet. Anyone travelling from Manchester to Sylhet will notice there ticket price is higher than travelling from Manchester to Dhaka. The flight to Sylhet is non stop to Sylhet and then continues on to Dhaka but the price is cheaper to Dhaka despite the extra journey am baffled that this airline is doing this. Only thing I can suggest is that the air line knows in England there is more people from the Sylhet district and are deliberately taking advantage of this shame on Bangladesh Biman airline team

🚀Skyrocketing Prices and Limited Availability!

My honest review - I tried to book a one-way ticket from Sylhet to London for my wife, and most dates were unavailable. The few tickets I found were outrageously priced at £1200, £1500, even £2000! This is absolutely unacceptable and puts unnecessary financial pressure on hardworking individuals like me. To make matters worse, the prices keep increasing every day. Despite watching several YouTube videos showing almost empty Biman flights, the ticket prices remain sky-high. Living in London doesn't mean everyone is rich. Please, avoid using this service if you can. This situation is dire and needs immediate attention.

Biman takes cash of vulnerable customers

My parents recently travelled with Bangladesh Biman Airlines, the only reason we chose Biman was because of the direct flight to Sylhet. At the checkin desk the staff was freindly and we had paid for extra luggage allowance in advanced. Eveything was fine at the checkin desk, my mother and aunty had two additional plastic bags with snacks inside for the travel, the checkin desk staff said, that doesn’t require to be weighed and is totally fine.

Low and behold! Just before boarding literally at the gate. A female staff member (who refused to give her name or details) claims they have “sneaked in extra bags! And she demanded a payment at that point. My parents are aware of previous problems and bad treatment people have had with Biman (just search on YouTube) and you will see! So they got scared and didn’t challenge it as much, fearing the bad treatment on the duration of the flight.

She refused card payment and said only cash payment will be accepted and unfortunately my father again complied and paid it. Mo recipient or anything provided for this transaction! So this makes me believe they are robbing vulnerable customers who don’t challenge them and usually elderly passengers Dont speak good english and out of fear they just comply.

She is usually Manchester airport as soon as you arrive at the checkin desk. She directs people towards the queue for Biman checkin desk etc.

This experience has made me leave this negative review. And my family will never use this airline again.

I hope the airline can look into this matter for the reputation of their own brand. I have no doubt she will be targeting many other such vulnerable customers and earning herself some extra cash on the side while on the job.
