Refund Refused to date
I bought a second tyre and rim from Tristar Recycling on 2/2/2023 for £90 plus postage through Paypal. The goods were delivered on 7/02/23. By that time I had noted that the prize I had been charged was too high and decided to return it. I called Tristar Recycling on 7/2/23 at 16:08 and spoke to a lady about returning the product. She told me to return it without giving me or sending me details of how to do it. She questioned why I had bought it in first place and I told her that I had changed my mind and was entitled to that. The tyre was collected by DPD on 9/2/22 in its original packaging as l had not opened it and was received back by Tristar recycling on 10/2/2023 at 13:58 (DPD evidence available).
I raised the issue with Paypal but they rejected my case saying the reason for my case was not covered under their policy to only intervene when the goods are "damaged" or "not as described". Which i truly understand.
However, on Tristar Recycling ltd returns policy, it states that you can return goods in original packaging ( which l did) within 14 days and refund will be processed within 14 days of return.
On 28/2/23 at 13:53 I called Tristar to confirm if they had received the Tyre and Trim which I had sent back by DPD Local. The gentleman I spoke with confirmed that they had received the goods. He went on to say that my claim with Paypal had been rejected which I already knew. He was rude and said he could not confirm when that could happen. I requested him to send me an email confirmation of when they could do it but he refused.
However l do not think that Paypal's rejection of my request gives Tristar the right under UK law to take my money, receive the returned goods and still refuse refunding.To date, the 11 July 2023, I have not received my refund from Tristar Recycling.
