I purchased a Syneron/Candela Elos Plus…

I purchased a Syneron/Candela Elos Plus the year of Covid. Needless to say, the device wasn't used for 2 years. We've been using for 3 years when I received an email that the company would not be servicing this device any longer. I purchased a new Sublative Hand piece, just to have on -hand if the other broke. Well, this one has never worked and got no support or assistance for this company. They are only interested in selling me a new laser. I will never purchase anything from this company again. Their service is horrible!

Total garbage

Total garbage! I spent at least 20k on repairs on this trash YEARLY. Everything always breaks down, leaks, burns... Simply disgusting company

Highly recommend Candela

I was guided by my team to look at adding laser to our treatment menu and to partner with the best laser company, so we invested in Candela with the Nordlys and we are so pleased we did. Victoria and Lesham have been so wonderful with their support and guidance and I’m so pleased to be working with them and their team. The machine has delivered exceptional results and we are now looking at adding the Matrix to our offering and would highly recommend any Clinic to bring Candela to their practice. We are over the moon and look forward to our future working together.

Great after sales care

Have worked with this company for 4 years having purchased a medical laser from them in 2022. Their support through the purchase and the ongoing servicing support has been excellent and I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Candela for 17 years…

I have worked with Candela for 17 years on and off and solid for several years with a Co2re, nordlys x 2, Vbeam perfecta and now have just received the Glacé and Picoway. I find the quality of the devices excellent, the user interfaces are easy and modern, the clinical results and patient & doctor satisfaction is at the top level.

The leadership structure at Candela is very strong under Victoria Worship and Hamish is one of the best trainers in the U.K.

Excellent Service and Outstanding Support

We’ve been working with Candela Medical for years and have always had a fantastic experience with their laser machines. Recently, we purchased our second device, the new Candela Glacé, and we couldn’t be happier. The quality and performance of the machines are exceptional, and we always feel fully supported by the team at Candela.

A special thank you to Noelle, Sharon, Grace, and Michael for their ongoing help, professionalism, and friendly service, nothing is ever too much trouble. It’s a pleasure working with a company that truly values its clients.

Highly recommend Candela Medical to any clinic looking for reliable technology and excellent customer support.

I have 3 Candela lasers

I have 3 Candela lasers, and would not hesitate to recommend them if you are looking to start using lasers, or add one to your practice.

I purchased 2 pre-owned Candela devices in 2019 and 2023, before making the leap to acquire a brand new laser from Candela directly in 2024.

The pre and post sales experience has been excellent, and I have been very happy with their service services and repairs department, especially since a change in their MD a couple of years ago which has seen very positive impact on customer experience. The senior engineer Phillip M deserves a special mention given his wealth of knowledge.

The company also make you feel part of their family and there are training and networking events which are not to be missed. Hamish and Inga are some of the best trainers I have come across.

If you are looking for industry leading technology, and a company who you can deal with on a personal level, I would highly recommend considering Candela.

I also can’t praise Inga enough! She changed the way we used our Nordlys and we have been getting absolutely fantastic results! hidden costs, poor customer service, ongoing issues

I purchased by Gentle Max pro Plus laser machine in 2023 which is their latest model. Communication with this company after they sell you their machine has been nothing but exhausting. They do NOT care about their customers but they know exactly how to hang around like flies to make sure they make the sale for their machine. From asking for assistance with documentation for shipping consumables to repairing the YAG element in the laser with only 30k pulses (which is very little pulses to have to do a repair) , it has been nothing but a never-ending headache; not to mention the exorbitant cost of their Gold Plan that they have you go under contract for to repair the machine ( there are no cheaper options in my region ) I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND CANDELA. The minute I make the money I spent on this machine back I am switching to another brand.

Great technology, great service.

I have been a customer of Candela Medical for more than 20 years. Over the years I have bought many of their devices which have become very important to the success of my clinic. I have the confidence that my clinic has cutting edge technology delivering the best results for my patients. I also have support from a very professional team of engineers providing support to keep my devices running at their best. I cannot recommend this company more highly.

Outstanding service

I’ve been a Candela customer for over three years, and my experience has been consistently excellent. The UK team has been incredibly supportive throughout - from management to the clinical educators, everyone has gone above and beyond to help.

Excellent from start to finish!

From the first point of contact, sales, servicing team and product, I could not have been happier. Dermatology General Practitioner proud of using Candela products

I have joined the Candela family 4 months ago. As a Dermatology General Practitioner, I found the GentleMax Pro and the new Glacé machines very effective. The support we have from the Candela team including free monthly training, available when needed is an amazing way to support our staff.
The Leading Clinic at Royal Kingston could not find a better partner to work with other than Candela.

Got a lemon and they're not standing behind it

We bought a Candela Hair Laser equipment Jan 2024 and had to change out the fiber that attaches to the handpiece about a dozen times if not more. May 2025, they finally sent a senior tech to assess the machine and he stated that he rebuilt the machine. Why do you need to rebuild it when we bought it brand new? Initially, they extended our warranty for 6 months and now will not extend another 6 months after the rebuild.

Summary: We get a lemon and couldn't use the machine for over a year and now the warranty has expired. We're going to have to buy a basic warranty for $10K or extended warranty for $21K. What a mess! I wouldn't touch anything sold by Candela. Will look at trade in option.

We would like to raise awareness about…

We would like to raise awareness about ongoing issues we have experienced with the Candela GentleMax Pro, particularly the newer model. In our experience, the YAG chambers appear to have recurring faults, with breakdowns occurring approximately every three months.

Despite repeated attempts to engage with the manufacturer for repairs and support, we have encountered significant delays and a lack of responsiveness from their service team.

If you are a clinic or practitioner facing similar issues, we encourage you to reach out to The Harley Laser Specialists and ask for Adam. We are in the process of exploring legal options and believe it is important to unite with other affected clinics to ensure these concerns are properly addressed.

Our intention is to protect and support others in the industry by sharing our experience and working toward a resolution.

Title: Beware of the Hidden Costs with Candela Laser Machines – What They Don’t Tell You

I’m a clinic owner who invested in a Candela Medical laser hair removal device expecting premium performance and support. While the machine had issues during the warranty period too, I ran into a huge surprise once the warranty expired — and I feel compelled to share this with others in the industry.

Recently, my machine developed an issue and I contacted Candela for support. I was quoted $4,400 just for a technician to come out and troubleshoot the machine. This does not include repairs, parts, or any actual fixes — it’s purely a call-out fee to assess the problem. This number blew me away. It’s an incredibly steep charge for something that, in many cases, might be a simple fix.

Worse still, this cost is non-refundable, and there’s no guarantee of a quick solution. In contrast, many other reputable laser manufacturers offer more reasonable support costs, extended service options, or remote diagnostics without a four-figure invoice just to look at your machine.

Candela's lack of transparency about long-term support costs is something prospective buyers should seriously consider. This level of post-warranty expense is unsustainable for smaller clinics and new business owners, especially when you’ve already made a substantial initial investment.

My Advice:
Ask very specific questions about support and service costs beyond warranty before purchasing.

Compare these costs across brands — some competitors offer much better value.

Don’t just look at the machine quality; factor in the true cost of ownership.

I wish I had known this sooner, so I’m sharing it in hopes it helps others avoid the same surprise.

Candela is not worth your money.

I do not recommend buying a machine from Candela because I was so disappointed with them. Our business bought a Body contouring machine from them and I paid so much for it didn't give any results. When I tried contacting them for a solution they didn't solve my concerns. I will definitely not be purchasing from Candela anymore.
