Financial loss and disappointment

My experience with Chester & Co Solicitors was poor and fell significantly below what I would reasonably expect from a regulated firm.

One transaction was delayed for over a year. Throughout this period, I was repeatedly advised that the buyer’s solicitor was hindering progress. I have since been informed directly by the buyer’s solicitor that they had in fact been actively chasing Chester & Co for several months, and that the lease documentation produced was not fit for purpose for mortgage lender approval due to missing and incomplete clauses. As a result, the documentation could not be submitted to the lender and exchange could not proceed within a reasonable timeframe.

More recently, the firm declined to complete two further company property sales due to concerns relating to the personal bankruptcy of a former director, despite the company being a separate legal entity and that individual no longer holding a directorial role. Independent legal advice subsequently obtained confirmed that this should not have prevented the firm from acting on behalf of the company.

Overall, the service was characterised by excessive and avoidable delay, inadequate legal work, and unclear communication about the causes of that delay. This resulted in financial loss and the need to instruct another firm to rectify the issues and progress the transactions. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm.

Outstanding Conveyancing Solicitors – Chester & Co Bournemouth

Chester & Co made what could have been a very stressful sale feel completely under control. My situation was far from simple, a property in Manchester while I’m based in Bournemouth, a sibling who was hard to get instructions from, and a lease that had never been registered correctly in my parents’ names. They even had to work with the freeholder’s solicitors and the Land Registry to get everything sorted, including arranging a deed of variation because the original lease listed the wrong garage.

None of this phased them. From start to finish, their professionalism shone through. They kept me updated with regular emails and phone calls, so I always knew exactly what was happening. They explained every stage in clear, straightforward language.

Their conveyancing fee was very competitive and they never once tried to add unexpected extras. When completion day came, the buyer’s funds were transferred and my payout was in my account the same day.

If you want conveyancing solicitors who combine efficiency, transparency and genuine care, I can wholeheartedly recommend Chester & Co. Their service is first-class and I honestly doubt you’ll find better anywhere in the UK.

I highly recommend Chester & Co to anyone looking for a conveyancing solicitor in Bournemouth.

We used Chester Law in Bournemouth for…

We used Chester Law in Bournemouth for selling a property. They were fast and efficient. Keeping us informed every step of the way. Considering it was a messy sale due to it being our old family home which had been let out and abused by non paying tenants Chester Law made it a pleasant stress free experience.

Avoid

Avoid. I have been scammed out of thousands - their emails and portal are unsecure - there is no one point of contact and they completely shut for over a week with no emergency point number.
