Toilet and sink over designed and rubbish. Totally impractical.
Cheaper to replace the toilet than a seat
We had a toilet installed and after a year and a half the seat snapped..it’s clear the rubber supports we’re to far apart putting pressure between them..replacement seat £100..the only one that will fit will be from Duravit and you have to ring to have a seat recommended…so now I’ve got to buy a £100 toilet seat that’s going to break again due to poor design..it’s cheaper to buy a whole new toilet that comes with a soft close seat…not happy at all
Extremely low quality toilet seats
Extremely low quality toilet seats. Overpriced. Customer services are abysmal. Who do you contact???! Hiding behind their very unhelpful websites. Just keep sending photo after photo and getting no where. DO NOT BUY their products.
If I buy this seat it will be 3rd one !!!
Cheaper to replace the whole toilet.
very poor quality toilet seat for an over inflated price.
We are now awaiting our 3rd toilet seat that has broken in exactly the same place as all the others. We are in our 70s and must have sat on a good number of toilet seats in out lifetime but these are the the only ones that have ever broken. Even really cheap ones from B and Q have never done that. Unfortunately no other toilet seat fits our toilet so we cannot try another brand. There is obviously a design fault. There has never been an apology from the company. All we get is hassle about sending photos and e mails. Very poor service and quality.
This is the 4th time I’ve had to…
This is the 4th time we’ve had to replace a toilet seat that costs just under £200 a pop!!! Through no fault of our own another crack has occurred- is it made out of some kind of porcelain material or something? If this is so then may I suggest someone design a seat that is fit for purpose and one which doesn’t seem to crack every 6 months or so-
I’ve had a cheap Amazon toilet seat that’s lasted many years on my toilet in my downstairs bathroom which has lasted atleast 7 years with no problems- cost me £13.99, yet this poor quality excuse for a toilet seat doesn’t seem to suffice.
I wouldn’t normally complain if some kind if manufacturers warranty would cover such a fault especially as this has happened in the same spot ample amounts of times. Clearly there is a fault with this product. It’s fitted on a duravit toilet pan so I struggle to see why this fault is my own fault when quite clearly this crack forms in the same exact spot of the toilet seat each time. I’ve also made sure as i am aware that chemical reactions can cause cracks with certain wipes and products that any wipes used to clean the seat have always been suitable for toilet seats specifically- albeit no warning mentioned to be vigilant about this on this brand of toilet seat, yet cheaper toilet seats which seem to be a fraction of the cost of this poor flawed designed seat come with this warning, yet have lasted many years of wear and tear with different cleaning products used to clean them each time. So if one spends £174.99 to have a toilet seat, one would expect this last.
I would tick the box for this complaint (this is not feedback on how to improve service levels, neither is its “feedback” on improvement of the product you have provided me with. This is a somewhat mere complaint and me expressing my merest amount of frustration this has caused me since I’ve had this toilet installed in my bathroom in 2019… yes that’s right- I’ve replaced my toilet seat 5 times in 4 years- due to a fault- not because of anything else- which I has totalled £874- excluding postage fees- yes- p&p charged on top!!!!
As mentioned and i cannot reiterate this more strongly- This toilet seat is not fit for purpose. I’m sure this no manufacturer warranty replacement, is a breech of some kind of consumer health and safety compliance, as when the cracks do occur it’s not shatter proof cracks but large shard like cracks which can prove to be quite fatal for someone who is not as strong on their legs less mobile for instance.
Avoid this brand at all costs please. It is not worth £174.99 to keep replacing-
I could have purchased a new sofa have paid this amount for a replacement which is now going to to be the 5th purchase…. Totalling a whopping £873- I believe this has cost more than the actual original toilet purchase itself. I don’t believe I’ve ever thought I would pay this amount for a toilet seat- in a lifetime!!!
What a real literal pain in the ar*e, to put it politely!!!!!
As mentioned above i not only feel that a free replacement be given- that’s only standard practice as this toilet seat is atleast less than 9 months old. But further compensation for the time and energy I’ve consumed to chase and look for previous receipts for a toilet seat purchase to then be told no replacement can be given, let alone the money and grief and embarrassment this could have caused whilst entertaining guests, luckily i have another bathroom for them to use in this case. Not to mention compromising on hygiene as I’m sure cracks that occur in what seems to look pourous. But worst of all you charge postage when it’s not even sent to me as express delivery is beyond a joke in this day and age!!!!
This is not feedback- this is a complaint and should not be taken lightly!!!! And for those who seem to be impressed- yes it looks nice- but that’s all it’s good for!!!!!!!!
Disappointing Duravit
Come on Duravit. You're not living up to your premier brand. My seat cover dis-coloured, lost its shine after 4 years, not ONE but 2 toilet bowls. And to top it all, one recently has a 2 ft long crack running from the cistern down to the seat. Your built quality is grossly below par. And the replacement cost!! It is 'daylight robbery"! ....S$100 (approx) for the cover and S$600 (approx) new toilet bowl. For your info, both bowls will be replaced with another brand. Not buying another Duravit.

A year ago I sat on the lid of my toilet seat and it broke. To replace it cost £150 approx. I complained to the company and was told the lid was not designed to be sat on and therefore guarantee was not functional. I said I thought this info should be embossed on the lid. I did not get a reply. Today someone sat on on my replaced seat and it broke. I could see no reason to report this to the company after my previous experience. If you have a Duravit toilet the is no other company that makes a compatible seat so you have to pay the astronomical price of £150 to replace it. Buy your toilet from another companies that uses generic seats and avoid Duravit.
Horrible Experience...
I purchased 4 toilet bowls from Home Comfort Centre in Toronto (Canada). Currently there has been nothing but trouble as the toilet seat is made of plastic and it's not fastened to the ceramic toilet structure (one piece). Optically this would be the prettiest toilet, however, the least practical and customer warrants caution prior to purchasing. In a household with 2 people & 4 toilets, one toilet is used in master bedroom extensively and was replaced after complaining to Home Comfort Center about lid always being loose. The owner of Home comfort center was asked to physically view the toilet and saw the issue first hand. The solution was to force the client to purchase another toilet, pay full cost plus shipping and plumber expenses. The out of pocket per toilet is 800 dollars. Realizing that all 3 toilets that were not extensively used also had the same problem, the complaint was then put in to have the 3 toilets replaced. Instead, Duravit suggested new parts. At the moment I have no faith in the Duravit product, nor the customer service surrounding the purchase from the supplier. I've asked for the Canadian complaint form and there doesn't look like it exists, so I'm submitting this for other customers to view.
Years ago I bought a Duravit bidet
Years ago I bought a Duravit bidet, wall-hung toilet and sink. The bidet has hose and external water connections and they are HORRIBLE. Also the bidet cracked at the drain. The day I redo the bathroom, never again Duravit!
Never Again
After months and months I am still waiting for two small bolt type screws for my £3,000 plus compact Duravit toilet. The original order was June 2021 and they got that wrong. For these missing parts I was originally told Germany was on holiday so I would have to wait until September 2022. I have contacted my bathroom company installers many times (it is not their fault) and still Duravit fail to supply the parts. Hopeless Customer Service in Milton Keynes - probably still working from home!
NEVER buy a wallhung Duravit toilet
NEVER buy a wallhung Duravit toilet, especially the duravit toilet with sensowash seat. I had issues from day one due to the design of the sensowash seat which pushes the body forward and missaligns the person with the waterspot. In simple terms, this means that the waste gets stuck on the bumpout inside the toilet and the waste (ie: poop) has to be manually removed each and every time. After many conversations with a Duravit Canada rep and Duravit US, I was told that it was not their problem, even though (after comparing specs) they agreed that the sensowash seat does reposition the person over the waterspot. I asked if they would switch with another toilet that does not have the sensowash seat and they said that it was my responsibility because there is nothing wrong with their design. Honestly, if they had offered another seat or something simple, that would have at least shown an effort and that they care. However their message was clear "not our problem!". I purchased three Duravit toilets and I am replacing all of them. Loss of money and time.
Purchased 2 Duravit ME wall mount…
Purchased 2 Duravit ME wall mount bidets. Anchors that hold it to the wall are cheap plastic with metal Allen head screws. Directions state "1" turn. Thats because the plastic is so cheap if you try to tighten it, the plastic strips out of the anchor. A simple brass insert would remedy this. Toto wall mount was a breeze, I would highly recommend them over a brand that has so many bad reviews and does nothing about it.
This is hands down the biggest piece of garbage I have ever seen sold in the US. That's after 42 years as a builder.
Bought toilet and worst customer service
Bought toilet. Never last even for 6 months. Customer Service is very worst. Never recommend this product to anyone
Never again Duravit
Never, never again will I buy Duravit dare I say it really isn't durable but it certainly is excreatia. I have replaced several sets of dampers, each time after damper A has failed. Eachtime I have been told it must be operator error... I have provided detail pictures with explanation of what happens when the dampers fail to Duravit. Duravit and their distrubutor both say it is my fault the way I'm fitting the dampers. Really....? it's not that hard Duravit to fit the dampers or do I really need a plumber to interpret the 1 to 12 idoit picto instructions you provide with the replacement dampers. No Duravit, never again your product is not worth the money.
Sink unit damaged by...water! Not covered under 'warranty'
I purchased a bathroom furniture unit at great expense. After 4 years the door of the unit is delaminating and the finish is coming away.
Duravit advised that this is not a manufacturing fault and that the cause of the damage is water ingress. IT IS A SINK UNIT, IT WILL GET WET!!!
They are now asking £420 to replace one door as it is not covered under their 5 year warranty. Seems like a common experience.
At such a high price point you expect good design and quality workmanship. Clearly, a sink unit should be designed to get wet.
Let down by Duravit. Read the reviews!!
We bought a number of duravit items for our bathroom but like many others, had problems getting a fitter to install them. We bought in advance as the duravit vanity unit was built to order so there was a long lead time but have ended up waiting for the fitter longer than we anticipated.
Finally after months of having the new en suite pieces stored in our bedroom, making it unusable, the bathroom fitter is here. He opened the huge box containing the large, expensive sink, to find what duravit say is impact damage on the corner of the unit. They agreed to have contact with the supplier (QS supplies) but both have refused to replace or repair.
as the damage was not reported within 14 days. 14 days!! It is not practical to open and fully examine these heavy items on delivery. If you buy a £40 shirt from John Lewis you get 50 days to return it, if you spend more than 10x that amount on a duravit basin, you get 14 days- even though the carcass for the sink took a
5 or 6 weeks to arrive, so the basin couldn't possibly have been fitted within 14 days. I thought I was buying a quality basin from a reputable manufacturer. Instead I'm left with a clearly visibly cracked basin in my new bathroom, and a very bitter taste in my mouth.
I have another bathroom to refurbish. It certainly will not have duravit sanitary wear. I should have read the reviews!
Shamefully poor response to damaged unit
Duravit is not a bargain product. We bought several items for our new shower room. Most were absolutely fine. But one item - the L cube basin unit - circa £650 - was damaged on one visible corner. Reported to supplier who reported to Duravit. Response was they have a '5 day rule'. So, if you don't open the boxed product in 5 days, they accept no liability. We had ours a couple of weeks in advance to limit risk of delay and because exact timing for the plumber was contingent on other things. So Duravit will replace the damaged drawer front for £100 + VAT in 6-8 weeks. Tried to find contacts for CEO but unusually, not available via usual routes. Sometimes things go wrong - how the problem is handled tells you all you need to know about the integrity of the company: they don't deserve our custom.
Duravit thin soft closing toilet seat
We have Duravit thin soft closing toilet seat and whilst very comfortable and good to look at, just before 5yr warranty, the seat section started to discolour on the surface unrelated to urine. The material it's made from over time seems to absorb liquid when cleaning with a cloth, standard products and general wiping, not soaking or using bleach. Very unhappy with this as it looks dreadful, we are embarrassed when people ask to use the toilet. We've resorted to purchasing a new seat, we'll keep a better check on it this time, no response from the manufacturer.
Duravit 5 year warranty a joke
Duravit have a 5 year warranty on their products, or so they say! The soft close damper ceased working on our toilet seat so I emailed them for a replacement part, only to be told it wasn't covered! The only part on the toilet that could possibly break down would be the damper. The rest is a lump of ceramic and a plastic seat. The 5 year warranty is just a gimmick to get you to buy their products. Don't even think about it.
