Friendly staff...The gym is always clean...The lighting is great for showing your muscle shapes....The weight machines are the best you can buy made by an old company called
Nautilus which have been around since the early days of body building.
I'm 67 now and have been training with weights since i was 17 years old.,And the Everlast Thurrock Gym has all the right equipment you will ever need to build a strong powerful body.

All the staff at Everlast, East Kilbride are always helpful and friendly. The gym is a nice size and well-equipped. It is always a pleasant experience to go! Joined my son up and now I go regularly too!

Website designed by a 5 year old

Website designed by a 5 year old. Impossible to change GYM - 4 different prices for the same membership - no way to delete account.

No way to register a new account because they keep your phone number on file.

If you want to move from 1 gym to another then good luck.

Pathetic company horrible customer…

Pathetic company horrible customer service. They like to ignore all complaints so they get another month of payments out of you and then answer your requests to then proceed to run you around more circles. They're hiring scam artists

Sham of a company

Sham of a company, advertised for £5 membership and as i signed up to a rolling monthly contract the contract sent read 12 months contract. I immediately called to cancel and stated that this was false advertising as there is no mention of a 12 months contract contract. The person on the phone said that he would cancel my contract and issue my refund. Nothing come about and I sent an email as I was still writhin 14 days and had not attended the gym (I joined a different one). I recieved an email stating I had to call my local gym to cancel, I wrote back stating that this is also not in the contract and as I had joined online I was in my right to a cancellation online (oh by the way they don’t even hold the phone at the local gym). As time has gone they keep delaying requesting more convoluted ways to stop my cancellation. I eventually stopped my direct debit and asked for a charge back to get my money from the bank.

Avoid this company obviously a sham if they have to use such underhanded tactics to sign people up.

I am the member in the Bromborough gym…

I am the member in the Bromborough gym for many years . I like the gym with the pool that is why I still stay at this gym. When I go to the gym the cross trainer is the only cardio I love to use . But unfortunately this machine (5 of them ) none of the one you can use it with program. It’s been like that for so many years and I had been reported that few times . They only will said that they will send someone to check or whatsoever. As a member their so many year you paid for the membership but this basic equipment is not available is just shame .

The gym is fantastic

The gym is fantastic! Great employees, all personable and easy to talk to. Equipment is respectable. Needs a little more variety in Equipment and gets very busy at peaks times but both those things are representative of every gym in existence.

Management at Everlast Chiswick appears…

Management at Everlast Chiswick appears to be present only around once a week, and anything outside the standard playbook seems almost impossible to resolve. Simple administrative questions that should take minutes instead drag on for weeks or months.

My issue over a membership price increase has been ongoing for more than 50 days, requiring repeated chasing from my side while late-payment fees accumulated. I eventually gave up and explicitly instructed Everlast to cancel my membership. I am still waiting for confirmation that they have actually done so.

Escalating to head office made little difference. The same lack of ownership, painfully slow communication and inability to resolve straightforward issues continued.

The gym itself was never the problem. The management and customer service turned what should have been a simple query into such a frustrating experience that I chose to leave.

When a business takes months to answer basic questions and cannot even confirm a cancellation, something is seriously wrong.

Lazy staff 0 hygiene

The changing rooms are vile. The changing rooms also stink. I felt dirty walking around in the spa and around the changing rooms.
No hygiene whatsoever and the staff are so relax to the point they come across as rude.

Worst gym I have ever trained in

Worst gym I have ever trained in! Let’s start with the obvious and the most common knowledge when having a well known gym, ventilation and air conditioning is non existing and to make it worse higher management will NOT be replacing now repairing it! The next obvious necessity is cleanliness. The place is so outdated and as the word describes “crumbling” mould is in every room and to make it worse the staff don’t even want to clean nor try to clean the place up but instead paint over the issues. Staff are nice enough however they do not have sufficient training and knowledge and how to answer certain pressured questions but instead bin the member off. Still on the subject of staff I have not seen the area manager once come to reassure or tackle problems him or herself. Overall unprofessional business, filthy facilities and dismal service.

I have been sadly tied into a contracr with Everlast Imperial Park Bristol for a year. For half that time, the steam room has been broken. Multiple other bits of kit regularly breaks down with staff seeming to have no idea if and when anything will be fixed. Overall, incredibly dated and a run down feel, needs serious money to be spent on it as to get it to a similar standard as other local gyms. Genuinely, save your money because this place kind of feels like an accident waiting to happen.

Everlast York not recommended

Everlast York has failed to live up to its refurbishment. Although the gym equipment has been upgraded, the staff appear to be either uninterested or emasculated to the point of immobility; the décor has been heavily criticised (and staff say they have fed the many complaints back to head office); and the cafe hasn’t noticeably improved.

Judging by the lack of response to poor reviews on this website, it also appears that HQ doesn’t care what their customers think.

Taking each criticism (above) in order:

Staff respond to questions with little or no interest and simple things like cleanliness is not monitored. The sauna and steam room safety is monitored by someone opening the door and shouting ‘okay?’ and rushing off before he hears any response. The cleaning regime is clearly not adequate; for example there has been a piece of chewing gum in one of the urinals for over a week now. The screen display at the top of the stairs to the gym has been on the wrong resolution for ten days, most of the display window is not visible (indicating the amount of interest the staff take in their surroundings). The provision of paper and spray to wipe down equipment has been reduced to near zero – no notices encourage uses to leave equipment clean.

Decor: Whoever chose black as a corporate colour presumably never tries to use a combination padlock in the changing rooms – the down lights make it very hard to see the numbers and anybody who normally wears glasses has absolutely no chance. The showers need a simple obvious improvement – a small shelf to put one’s shampoo or shower gel on. The hook in the showers is pointless since a towel on that hook will get soaked. No doubt someone thought that black was ‘go-ahead and dynamic’ rather than drab, dark and uninspiring – it shows every mark from everyday use and restricts visibility.

The cafe: I wanted to buy a coffee today and was told there was no normal milk. That might have been bad enough, but I was then told that there had been no milk for one and a half weeks! Their suppliers had supplied the wrong milk. Fair enough, mistakes happen, but apparently the manager of the gym couldn’t (or couldn’t be bothered) tell the suppliers to sort this out immediately (ie. a week and a half ago) or go a quarter of a mile to buy milk from Tesco’s. What kind of organisation runs a cafe with no milk for one and a half weeks (apart from a vegan cafe)?

The one benefit of this lack of interest is that the gym and pool are never busy, it is always possible to use equipment. But the lack of interest in customers will make us look elsewhere soon enough even though this is the most convenient gym. If the owners want people to use the gym they need to take an interest in their clients, and enthuse and empower their staff. There is no obvious way to feedback constructive criticism to Everlast.

Hygiene standards have pushed me to ask…

Hygiene standards have pushed me to ask to leave my contract

I am a current member of Everlast Dunstable and I am now formally asking to be released from my contract because I no longer feel comfortable training there due to the hygiene situation.

This has not come from one isolated incident.

I have repeatedly experienced occasions where there has been no paper available to wipe down gym equipment, or where I have had to ask about cleaning spray.

On Sunday 13 September, I went into the gym and once again there was no paper available to wipe down the machines. I raised it with staff and was specifically told that they were expecting a delivery on Monday and that the paper would be replenished.

I returned on Tuesday 15 September expecting the problem to have been resolved.

Instead, I was told that there is now a new policy under which the cleaning paper AND spray bottles are being removed altogether.

I asked what members are now supposed to use to clean shared equipment before and after use. I was effectively told that if I wanted to clean equipment myself, I would need to provide my own cleaning materials.

I was also told that cleaners clean for only two hours during the day.

When I challenged the decision, I was told that the cleaning materials had only been introduced because of COVID. I was then also told that the cleaning products don't really work anyway because wiping the solution with the tissue simply wipes it off.

I found that explanation extraordinary.

This is a gym. People sweat and repeatedly share machines, benches, handles, weights and other equipment. Regardless of COVID, basic hygiene did not suddenly stop mattering when the pandemic ended.

What makes the situation worse is the attitude I experienced when raising these concerns. I spoke to a woman who indicated that she was a manager or assistant manager and found her extremely dismissive and rude. I did not feel that my concerns as a paying member were being taken seriously.

I am tied into a fixed-term contract and am now fighting to be released from it.

If Everlast chooses to change the cleaning arrangements during my membership, I believe I am entitled to question whether the service I originally agreed to pay for is still being provided to an acceptable standard.

I have now made this a formal complaint and am asking Everlast to terminate my membership without penalty.

My advice to anyone considering joining Everlast Dunstable is to visit the gym first, inspect the hygiene arrangements, ask how frequently the equipment is cleaned, ask what is provided for members to clean equipment themselves, and READ THE CANCELLATION TERMS before signing anything.

Based on my experience, I would not have joined if I had known then what I know now.

Members beware

This company have total disregard & respect for their staff and members.
The gave no one notice and simply emailed last night saying club ( Sale) closed!!!
PT “s have clients booked.
Swim lessons booked & paid for ( children showed up for lessons today 😢)
Members , some with 20 year plus status had no opportunity to say goodbye to staff or members.
The gym is a lifeline for many not just exercise but emotional & social support.
They treat you like a cash machine and a statistic .
Shame on you EVERLAST .

Ocean Plaza - pool closure, again

Clearly Everlast, Ocean Plaza is seeing how low it can go in terms of degrading its services and resources and still have people pay. I've lost count of the number of days over the last few years the pool has been closed with no apology never mind compensation. Arrived today and found the pool closed - "for the foreseeable" according to the guy at the counter. The lack of email/message in this and multiple other similar instances (never mind the filth, broken equipment, etc.) fully indicates the contempt this appalling company has for its customers.
