I went there.Use the roller skating session , but did not feel comfortable as there were boys and men in the girls change in rooms , which is not very safe , especially women and girls need to use the toilet and get changed.zero privacy for women and girls. UPDATE. 0 privacy, they email back stating that there are other toilets in the hallway. I was not directed to them upon first impress. There is still no privacy women and girls, especially those who have periods very bad communication. And there are signs saying girls changing room for a reason if they cannot stick to that. Then how is anyone supposed to have any kind of dignity or privacy. Do not go if you need privacy. For chainging or its that months or u need the toilet
Excellent local leisure centre in Newbury
Made very welcome by reception staff when I popped in, the lady took her time to show me around the facilities. I then took an over 50s aerobics class and once again I was so impressed with how welcoming and patient the teacher was. Gym facilities also fresh and clean and staff friendly and helpful. Great place!
Not fit for boards, not adults only.
The actual slope and lift are good so no complaints.
But.
Adults only ski night advertised on the website is in fact not adults only, with kids all over the slope is not good when you’re expecting a bit of space to practice.
Also, the snowboards are not in good condition at all. The instructors could barely adjust the bindings as they were basically rusted in place, so if you’re goofy then you’re screwed as the boards are setup for regular riders. The toe strap on the bindings came off/loose on both mine and my partners boards, which is highly dangerous when you need that strap for tension moving to each edge.
Both of us are competent boarders but couldn’t get on a toe edge.
So far a good experience
So far a good experience joining Northcroft gym. Blake the sales manager was attentive, polite, chatty and friendly. The gym is in very good condition since the refurbishment. Staff seem friendly and remember who you are. Overall a really top experience. Membership is affordable and allows me to use other gyms in Berkshire if I need to. Also the app thats included is very detailed and super helpful for booking and keeping track.
Harassment in Everyone Active Slough Centre
I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during my scheduled adult swimming lesson on Saturday, 14th March (11:30 am session).
I am a regular member of the centre and attend this weekly class, which is led by the instructor, Khadijah. During this particular lesson, Khadijah took several students to the deep pool. As I do not yet feel confident in deep water, I chose to remain in the standard adult teaching pool to continue my practice.
My decision is based on a genuine safety concern; during a previous session in the deep pool with this instructor, I struggled significantly and felt I was at risk of drowning. Given the class size, the instructor is naturally unable to provide the one-on-one supervision I require in deeper water.
While I was practising, the supervisor on duty, Harry, approached me and insisted that I move to the deep pool. I clearly explained my safety concerns and my discomfort with the deep water, requesting to stay in the teaching pool. Despite the fact that the pool was otherwise empty and there were still 20 minutes remaining in my session, Harry was extremely rude and ordered me to leave the water immediately.
Request for Resolution
This experience was deeply upsetting and has left me feeling quite shaken. To make matters worse, I now feel trapped in a contract that requires two months' notice to cancel. The idea of continuing under these conditions—which I can only describe as a form of mental distress—is deeply upsetting. I feel stuck in a membership where my safety and well-being are not being prioritised.
Formal Complaint for Harrasment
Formal Complaint: Harassment and Exclusion from Service
To: Management of The Centre
Date: March 15, 2026
Subject: Formal Complaint regarding the Adult Swim Session on March 14, 2026 (11:30 AM)
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the discriminatory and unprofessional treatment I received during the Adult Swim session on Saturday, March 14, 2026. I am a regular attendee of this slot, and the events of this past session have caused me significant distress and mental anguish.
Incident Details
During the session, the instructor, Khadijah, instructed me to move to the big pool instesd of the regular pool. I politely declined, stating that I was not comfortable swimming in deep water and preferred to remain in the shallow section.
Instead of respecting my safety boundaries, the instructor chose to:
Publicly Humiliate Me: She called out in front of the entire class that I should "leave my space" in the adult sessions and suggested I move to a family class or a different time slot.
Singling Out: This public "pin-pointing" felt like targeted harassment and was entirely inappropriate for a professional fitness environment.
Forced Removal
Following this exchange, the instructor spoke privately with the lifeguard (Harry) and then she relocated a portion of the class to the main pool. Shortly after, Harry approached me and stated I was required to leave immediately because the pool was "closing," despite there being 20 minutes remaining in my scheduled and paid-for session.
Request for Resolution
I was verbally forced to exit the pool in front of my peers, which I find to be a breach of the service agreement and a violation of the center’s code of conduct. I am seeking the following:
A formal written apology from the staff involved.
A clear explanation as to why I was forced to leave a session early when I had followed all safety protocols.
Assurance that I will not be harassed or pressured to swim in depths I find unsafe during future sessions.
A refund or credit for the disrupted session.
I look forward to your prompt response regarding how you intend to rectify this situation.
Sincerely,
Arindam Gupta
DO NOT EVEN BOTHER
DO NOT EVEN BOTHER. THIS PLACE IS A WALKING PETRI DISH.
We visited on Mother’s Day to take our 18-month-old son swimming and I was honestly scared to even put my child down. The entire place felt like a walking petri dish.
The floors in the changing rooms were absolutely filthy. Outdoor shoes are allowed in there, yet no one appears to be cleaning them. With that amount of foot traffic you would expect constant cleaning, but instead the floors were grim and clearly neglected.
The nappy bins were overflowing, completely filled to the brim with actual baby poo smeared around the edges. The smell was rancid. This is completely unacceptable in a place designed for babies and young children.
There were bits floating in the pool water, crumbs sitting in the corners of the pool floor, and rust everywhere in and around the pool. Any metal surface you looked at was corroded. The tiles were grimy and clearly have not been properly maintained for a long time.
We used one of the small private showers and even the locks on the doors were filthy, and the whole cubicle stank of urine.
What made it worse was that there were staff everywhere, including people in suits with clipboards walking up the stairs to the flumes in outdoor shoes, yet no one seemed remotely concerned with actually cleaning anything. The stairs leading to the slides were mouldy and disgusting.
It is such a shame because pools with slides and fun features for children are becoming rare. Sadly, many of the features in the pool were broken anyway, which only highlights the lack of maintenance.
Honestly, charge more if you need to. Instead of £9 per person, make it £12 or £13 and actually invest that money into proper cleaning and maintenance. At the moment the place feels neglected, unhygienic, and frankly unsafe for children.
Staff at reception were also not particularly friendly. The place is cash free, yet you still need £1 for a locker. They will sell you a trolley token for £1.50 but will not change money for you. It just adds to the overall frustration of the experience.
This place needs serious attention. It is filthy, poorly maintained, and completely unacceptable for families with young children. I genuinely do not understand how this is receiving anything above two stars.
We would happily travel for a pool like this if it was actually clean and well run. Instead we would rather drive further somewhere like Coral Reef where at least the facilities are properly maintained.
Until major improvements are made, do not take your children here.
Daventry swimming lessons
Seeing more swimming lessons cancelled and a trend with only being made aware once we have got there (today was 20 min before lesson started). Also seen a change since their more experience teachers retired/left.
Failure to refund membership.
I am a member of the Brentwood centre. For two years we were paying for the mid range gym membership but only using the basic. So downgraded the membership in December in time for January. But was charged the full amount. Following alot of complaining my husband is given his refund and I am still chasing. If you use this gym be careful there is little help on your membership and getting refunds. Staff won’t even know the head office number to put in a complaint, when all I would like is a rightful refund.
Avoid Swim School at Bourne Leisure Centre
My child has been enrolled in Stage 1 swimming lessons for nearly 11 months and is still nowhere near passing. Despite repeated feedback that she was “close to passing,” her progress has effectively stalled for months.
The lessons follow a rigid 10-week structure, but there has been no meaningful intervention or targeted support to address persistent barriers, such as reluctance to submerge her face or maintain proper body position. Communication has been inconsistent, and advice for home practice has been vague and insufficient.
Even additional sessions, such as summer crash courses, have not resulted in measurable improvement. Overall, the programme has not provided the structured, effective teaching or value we expected, and we are extremely disappointed with the lack of progress after almost a year.
A good gym experince and swimming pools
Really good experince and a really good gym and gym equipment and pools as well and freindly staff
Dirty pool
I visited Central Park Leisure Centre on 11/03/2026 and was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the shallow pool. The bottom of the pool is dirty and you can clearly see and feel sand on your feet when walking in the water.
What is even more concerning is that this problem has been there for a long time. I also visited in December and the sand was already in the pool back then. It seems like the pool has not been properly cleaned for months.
For a public leisure centre, hygiene and maintenance of the swimming pool should be a priority, especially in the shallow area where children usually swim. I hope the management addresses this issue and properly cleans the pool.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you want…
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you want to be spoken to like crap and patronised in front of your child. I came in and had forgotten my daughters swimming card (very common mistake a lot of parents make) told over and over again by a lady with a face like a slapped backside at reception that I shouldn’t be forgetting the card. I was spoken to like a child, extremely rude staff. Eventually let through the barriers so my daughter was late for her lesson. Then a manager named Kirsty absolutely god awful human being 3 other parents also said they have concerns about how she speaks to people, had said I need to be quicker getting my child from the pool bearing in mind I was the first parent there and this is a new centre, you’d think they would give people a bit of grace. All in all a shocking experience would not recommend. Swimming teacher Niamh is amazing which is why I am hanging on by a thread still taking my child here.

I spoke with Jess about corporate memberships for my business and she was brilliant.
She was really friendly, informative and happy to talk through the different options without any pressure. You can tell she knows her stuff and wants to help find the best fit.
Really appreciate the time she took to explain everything, great customer service.
It's great!
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, brilliant women's circuit training sessions, the centre's always clean, good changing facilities, very inclusive.

Been to many pools
Been to many pools, but London Aquatics Centre Stratford is terrible. I got a membership, cancelled after 5 days. Card system doesn’t work, staff are rude, and they kicked everyone out on my second day for some tournament. Paid my money, but they do whatever they want. Really poor experience — would not recommend at all.
Denied to reduce DD | rude and unhelpful service
I am writing to submit a formal complaint regarding the handling of my membership amendment request and the customer service I received at Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre (Everyone Active).
The first interaction regarding this matter took place on 19 January. At that time I was unwell, so I asked my husband, who was visiting the gym in person, to speak with a member of staff about reducing my Direct Debit so that my membership would include only Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre.
While he was speaking with the sales representative, he called me so that I could hear the conversation directly and confirm the request. During this conversation, the sales representative explained that an email would be sent to me and that I should reply to that email in order to confirm the amendment.
When I received the email, I replied instantly. My husband also checked with the sales representative that everything was in order and was told that it was fine and that the amendment would be processed.
However, in late February I noticed that my Direct Debit amount had not changed. As there is no phone number available on the website, I submitted an enquiry through the website. I then received a response stating that my email reply had not been received.
As I was certain that I had replied, and because the amendment had been verbally confirmed to my husband at the time, I went to the gym in early March to clarify the situation. I spoke with the staff member, whose name I later learned was Jessica Morris.
I showed Ms Morris the email reply I had sent and explained that I had followed the instructions provided and that the amendment had been verbally confirmed to my husband. During this conversation Ms Morris repeatedly told me that “I should read” the email. She said this twice, and her tone of voice and manner were clearly rude and dismissive.
Ms Morris stated that there had been a link in the email that I should have used instead of replying. However, the email itself specifically instructed me to reply, and the link was placed at the very end of a long message and was not clearly highlighted. In my view, this is not obvious and is misleading for customers. When an email instructs a customer to reply, the natural interpretation is to reply to that email.
When I asked to speak with a manager, Ms Morris stated that she was the manager. I then asked where I could submit a complaint regarding both the process and the way I was being spoken to. Her response was, in her exact words: “you can complaint if you like to.”
I consider this behaviour to be unprofessional and unacceptable customer service.
More broadly, this situation highlights a significant problem with the processes used by Everyone Active. The process for signing up for membership is quick and straightforward, yet the process for reducing a membership, amending it, or cancelling it is unnecessarily complex and lengthy. The instructions provided in the email were unclear and misleading, which directly contributed to this issue.
It gives the impression that these processes are not designed with customers in mind, but rather structured in a way that makes it difficult for customers to reduce or cancel their payments once a membership has been established.
Given that Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre operates with public support and partial council funding, it is particularly important that customer service standards and transparency in processes are maintained.
In light of the above, I request:
• An explanation as to why my membership amendment was not processed despite my reply and the verbal confirmation given to my husband.
• A review of the communication process used in amendment emails to ensure that instructions are clear and not misleading.
• A review of the customer service conduct displayed during my interaction with Jessica Morris.
• Consideration of adjusting my Direct Debit or refunding the difference for the period during which the amendment should reasonably have been applied.
I expect this complaint to be taken seriously and I look forward to receiving a response.
very rude male worker
Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m writing to complain about the way my son has been treated at the Everyone Active Slough Centre.
For about the past week, a male member of staff has been repeatedly approaching my son while he’s been using the gym. From what my son has told me, the staff member has been quite rude and has constantly been on his case, even though my son was simply using the facilities that he is allowed to use. My son paid for his membership with his own money and only goes there to work out and improve his fitness.
Because of this, going to the gym has become a really unpleasant experience for him. What should be something positive for a young person has turned into something stressful, and he now feels uncomfortable going there. The situation eventually led to him being told to leave the gym, which I find very unfair considering he is a paying member and was just using the facilities available to him.
As a parent, this is very frustrating to hear. My son should be able to use the gym he paid for without being constantly challenged or made to feel unwelcome.
I would appreciate it if this situation could be looked into and explained. I’d like to understand why this staff member kept confronting him and why he ended up being asked to leave.
I look forward to hearing back from you soon regarding this matter
