WORST AIRLINE EVER

WORST AIRLINE EVER! Do not book! Not only is there no customer support, when you do get someone, its 72 hours later over FB Messenger..
THEN, when I needed to make changes for medical reasons, trying to change the dates on their website was almost impossible. You can't postpone more than 4 months after the original ticket. AND you cannot change the destination.

IF you do want to change the date between the allowed time, they price gouge you. $100 change fee each way, each passenger. So for my husband and I, it would cost $400 + What ever the price difference was. So the total cost was $550 to change, which is basically purchasing new tickets.. All they could respond about my complaint was, sorry you feel this way, its in the terms and conditions in a link before you purchase.. I didn't even want to cancel, just some reasonable help to change my tickets, or credit, but just high way robbery..

Never Again

I booked two flights with them this year. Both flights were cancelled, forcing me to book on alternative carriers at significantly higher cost due to proximity of flights. NEVER book with this scam of a company.

Might as well add to the negative comments here to deter people from using swoop. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Our flight was canceled and tickets are now double what I payed due to the short notice. save yourself the trouble and stay away from this elaborate scam.

My name is Trevor Michalichyn and here it goes…. I do not usually divulge issues of health with my family. My father Orest was diagnosed with prostate cancer recently and loves his grandchildren dearly. My father two years ago paid for airline tickets with #swoop to bring my family down for Christmas. Unfortunately Covid took this opportunity away from us and this was not #swoop fault. We now need to fast forward two years into the future. I paid #swoop for their protection plan and was re able to book my tickets again for $700 at my own expense. Last week I was notified that #swoop had canceled my plane on December 25th for operational efficiencies. I was given the next flight out on December 29th with no chance for a refund. How many chances do we get in life to spend one more Christmas with your father? We never know what tomorrow brings? But thanks to operational efficiencies $$$ we now know #swoop has put their pocket before my fathers happiness and health. If you can please share this post for my father it would be most appreciated. Best wishes to you all Trevor Michalichyn

Anger and frustration. Non existent customer service!

I had reserved a ticket with swoop in advance but the flight was canceled for "unforseen safety reasons".

Not fun but not the end of the world either. However, they asked me to chose my seat again for the next flight which I did and got a seat with extra leg space.

So I get on my flight and low and behold, they give me a regular seat. Now that in itself is not a big deal, but definitely not fun for a 6'3"ft guy who paid extra money for that extra space.

The air attendant told me that they had to change plane last minute and couldn't give me a seat like that but that swoop will refund me.

Ultimately, I've tried to get a refund to no avail. Ive tried emailing, calling and Facebook messenger and still can't get a good answer.

Horrible customer experience and they will charge you for things you don't even get. Save your money and go on a reputable airline.

To summarize, I was delayed 3 days on my trip, charged a seat with extra leg room and ultimately not able to reach a human by phone or get compensation or a refund.

I will post this horrible experience everywhere I can write a review.

Poor housing for passengers

On November 4 Friday, our flight from Edmonton to Hamilton was finally cancelled at 11 pm due to either bad weather or no crew, the problem was how you handled housing all the passengers. Nobody should have had to leave that airport, there was a perfectly good hotel at the airport but instead we were told first we would get an email then instructed to go to a special app to choose and book a hotel, reserve a room , take a cab , get 2 1/2 hours sleep take another cab , get back to the airport to fly out the next morning, I don’t know where to begin with what’s wrong with this ridiculous set up. The $200.00 room plus the cab fare that was $100.00 would have more than made up the cost just to simply send us down the hall to the existing hotel right there at the airport, some passengers never got these magical vouchers, some had enough and made their own arrangements, some families with children got to their hotel only to find out there was no room. What a nightmare, you will have to figure out a much better way to handle a situation like this . I felt so bad for the parents with small children crying and tired , my name is Lorraine macgillivray and this trip was my first experience with swoop. The fare was good but this experience with the hotels was not well thought out . To make matters worse the hotel’s policy required them to charge my visa $200.00 damage fee and refund me 5 days later. That just did it for me , an old gray haired lady who just wants to get some sleep.good god , they certainly could have waived that ridiculous policy

We booked with Swoop to attend a funeral in Edmonton flying out of Abbotsford, BC. The flight was changed to the next day within a few hours of leaving. We would have missed the funeral so had to book with another airline. No refund at all, saying they could give us a flight within 48 hours - meaning missing the funeral. Do not fly with Swoop if you know you need to be somewhere. They will change your flight often and with no reason or refund.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. PATHETIC AIRLINE

DO NOT FLY SWOOP THEY ARE A JOKE WITH NO REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG. Absolutely pathetic. Money hungry. No customer service to help you. They expect you to solve an issue over Facebook Messenger are you kidding me? I want to speak to a real person and give them a piece of my mind because ive been dealing with this issue for a month now and still no resolution. They will charge your card multiple times and then give you a hard time with a refund. Spend the extra few dollars on a better airline because at least you can trust that they will actually assist you and not try to take money from you. You will not win this Swoop i am getting my money back.

Bad experience with swoop

Good day!, I have a complaint to report:

The reason for writing is to expose my discomfort from a very bad experience I had in the service in this airline. I have traveled for work reasons on June 9, 2022 from Toronto to Halifax. and when I got to the area where the staff checks the luggage a young guy told me that the luggage of my suitcase that I had paid for was fine. But in the carry-on bag that I had with me I had a 15.6-inch laptop, he made me pay $67.80 for it, that’s more than the cost of my baggage of several kilos of weight. you should have more control of your staff. That’s why I’m leaving my review here and I believe that those people like me will never again travel on your airline including that I already asked my family and friends because these experiences are discussed at family gatherings and social. It is very uncomfortable and annoying that your review staff does this with consumers because you owe it to the consumer and with these actions many people move away and avoid traveling on your airline again. Then I traveled 3 more times between Halifax and Toronto on other airlines and none of them even checked my hand luggage, much less charged me a cost for said bag. if it passes the formal airport review it’s fine, but we are NOT charged extra by travel agencies.

Guide your staff better or renew them constantly because it seems that they are NOT happy doing their job.

R.B.

No issues - Regular low cost airline

I was worried about flying Swoop because of some of the reviews I had seen but I chose them because of the return flight time being the one that suited me most and I wasn't too concerned if it ended up being a bit delayed. Overall there were no issues, slight delays on departures but nothing serious. Staff were friendly, the cost wasn't that cheap because I had to add on both checked luggage and a larger carry on case but all in all, the service was good, reliable and I would use them again! There was no in flight entertainment either on screens or on your own device but I had been notified of this either at the time of booking or in an email and advised to download something to watch which I did! I'm not tall but the legroom didn't seem that different to other basic economy bookings that I have made in the past and while there was no in flight meal (travel time was about 4.5 hours), you did have the option to buy food/drinks and I saw plenty of people had brought snacks on board with them. If you have paid to bring carry on, you end up boarding first after those with kids and people who need assistance etc. All in all, it was no different to any other economy flight I've taken in th last 5-10 years.

Do not waste your money.
Because of unforseen circumstances we had to cancel our trip. They refused to refund anything so that's 911$ they refused to refund. 8 days before the flight. They do not care. They have no customer service to call. Can only use messenger. This is the biggest joke of an airline I've ever experienced

If I could put 0 i would! Fraud company don’t understand how they’re on business still! . Was talking to one of customer representatives her name is Clayton on phone she just made me to put 5 starts review and put her name on review while she was proceeding me with booking on phone. I did as she requested as I thought it’s ok this lady is helping with booking. After I booked she told me that total charges will be $193 and I said it’s a bit expensive but still paid. But after booking with her I just went on Expedia web site and saw that my flight the same day and same time with Swoop airlines is just $59 on Expedia. She charged me twice one is $59 another fee $144 fee which I don’t know why total $193 ! Scam! I regret rushing to book with swoop representative Clayton when I could by myself. Im very disappointed , sad and feeling fooled :( in this hard times when everything is so expensive those people try to fool people. It was my very first experience with this air company and hopefully last! Stay away scamming company and customer service.

Worst carrier I've flown with

If I could give them a zero star rating I would but that is not an option here. This company has zero and I mean zero customer service since all they have is a recording where to go on-line for help and a facebook contact. My flight was cancelled and they did not compensate me or cover any extra costs like hotel and taxi fares for the extra day. By far the worst carrier I have flown with and I have flown with dozens of carriers over the years. DO NOT DEAL WITH SWOOP. Save yourself from the hassles and headaches you will have with this company if I can even refer to them as a company. All one has to do is look at Swoop on other rating sites and you will see 2 or less star ratings out of five. That is not
good. It's not even average. I've done my good deed and warned others from being ripped off.

On on March 26/ 22 I booked flight WO164 from Abbotsford to Winnipeg.

On on March 26/ 22 I booked flight WO164 (res. # Q9C8VT) from Abbotsford (12:50 pm) to Winnipeg (5:20 pm) on Sept. 25. The departure time was critical as we were just coming off a cruise to Vancouver on 7 am on Sept. 25, so had to have time to get from the dock in Vancouver to Abbotsford.

Several weeks later, Swoop changed the departure time at Abbotsford to a few hours earlier but it was still manageable.

Then, on Aug. 11, Swoop sent us an email informing us that our flight departure from Abbotsford had been changed yet again to 9:15 am WD402 (res. #Q9C8VT). This put us in an impossible situation, as we could not possibly make it to Abbotsford by 9:15 am when we would not disembark from the cruise ship until about 8:15 am. I checked to see if any other suitable Swoop flights were available but none were.

So I immediately sent Swoop an email at 9:11 am Aug. 11 asking for a full refund or credit. . On Aug. 15, Swoop sent an email saying that they would review my claim and reply in 15-30 days. I booked a flight with Air Canada.

On Sept. 22, I got a notice from Swoop that our flight WD402 was leaving in 72 hours on Sept. 25! Swoop had obviously totally ignored my request for a refund/credit!"

On Oct. 2, Swoop sent this email:
"Thank you for reaching out.
We sincerely apologize for the disruption to your travel plans. We have reviewed your claim and confirmed it is not eligible for compensation as it was due to a flight change which you were notified of more than 14 days in advance."

I am REALLY frustrated!
Swoop's corporate behaviour is appalling, arbitrary, unethical, and dishonest. It is just plain wrong to drastically change the time of a flight with no recourse by the consumer when the new time assigned is not acceptable.

Their own web page says,
"If Swoop cancelled your flight, and there was no other option available to you, we will offer you a refund. If you have a credit for the flight that was cancelled, and it has not been used, that credit can be reversed into a refund."

Live up to your promises, Swoop!!!

Don’t fly with Swoop!

I advise if you’re looking at this review, do not go with this company. Besides the fact that they charged me $143 CAD to carry on my baggage with me, they lost them! I’ve been calling thousands times, emailed them and also contact them through their social media and all they say is nothing because they have no customer service so no one, including at the airports is willing to help you. I lost not only my baggage but valuable items that no one is going to reimburse me ‘cause this company simply sucks! Please, do yourself a favor, and don’t fly with them.

Is worth mentioning too, the poor quality in attention from the stewardess, not even offered a cup of water and all along the trip, they were setting down chilling each other. Such a bad bad horrible experience!

This airline is a shame to say the…

This airline is a shame to say the least. I booked my flight 3 months in advance only for the airline to change my departure date to completely new date less than one month in advance. In addition to that, they then changed my departure time 6 times on the day same day the flight was supposed to leave. Instead of arriving on October 12th we arrived on October 13th. As if the time delay was not bad enough, when we arrived in Toronto, we had to wait over 30 mins alone to off board the plane. Then we had to wait over 2 HOURS at baggage claim for our luggage. Their excuse was it was raining, and the workers wanted to wait. We were than told it was because the luggage was not scanning. It was not until the passengers started to get rowdy that the bags started to come in. A lot of passengers started saying that this airline is RACISTS because the plane was filled with black people and they did nothing about the long wait time until people started yelling at 7am in the morning for their luggage. If individuals had work that morning, they would have missed their shift because or original arrival time was 11pm the night before however, with the change in departure time we ended up leaving Jamaica at 12am, landed at 5am Toronto time and our luggage did not arrive until after 7am. There was no apologizes, sad excuses and they are impossible to contact. They never answer their telephone, EVER. The customer service is very poor and I have never dealt with such a bad airline in my life. I will simply never book again. They are a little cheaper than other airlines, but I rather pay a few dollars more for quality service. They need to be shut down immediately.

Flight #109 from Hamilton to Abbottsford B.C. landed in Vancouver B.C. Our luggage was kept on the plane and taken back to Abbottsford. We were left without any kind of solution by the airlines.A rental car was required by us to go to Abbottsford to get said luggage and other rental car previosly booked. This airline offered no transport or recompense for the disruption to a day that was previosly planned. Not a good expierience for our party of 10.
