Unpleasant, unprofessional and damaged items from move
We were recommended this company by a family member, we messaged and booked and confirmed for them to move us on 12 Dec 22 around 9.30pm. For a start they didn't show up and when messaged said they were waiting for us to confirm despite already having sent a confirmation time and date. The main man Howard turned up eventually in his van full of furniture which he proceeded to leave by the side of our house, bearing in mind it was wet and snowy. He called "his mate and the mates girlfriend" who I have no idea if actually normally work for him or he'd just roped in to help as he had forgotten the booking. They then proceeded to start taking apart our furniture including my daughters cot, our wardrobe and my husbands glass cabinet. We had specified exactly what needed to go but other random items were being put on the van. Our washing machine had issue with the plumbing due to not being able to turn the water off. We told him to leave it and would phone the landlady and get her to send a plumber out. He ignored us and disconnected the washing machine, causing water to flood all over the kitchen. Cut a long story short when we arrived at our new house having cleaned up our old house they couldn't get our wardrobe back together and then eventually said they had managed. The young bloke he had got to help him so say put my daughters cot bed back together. They eventually left and when we inspected our furniture more closely we could see that the wardrobe doors were not on properly and the backs were coming loose. Worst of all when we put my daughter in her bed the mattress collapsed and fell down as the bed frame had been broken. I emailed him to express how annoyed I was that he had not only forgotten our booking and I feel rushed the job but that he had flooded our kitchen and our furniture was broken. To say he was rude and dismissive is an understatement and instead of dealing with the complaint in a professional manner he was dismissive and told me not to waste his time. He said he had done us a favour by still turning up in the snow and taking apart furniture and disconnecting the appliances (this was requested in the original request so wasnt extra at all plus we said several times to leave the washing machine). I have put the review up now as have seen several posts in the local area of people asking re removal firms and don't want anyone to have the deeply unpleasant experience that we had dealing with this man. I have kept all pictures, emails and texts from our exchange with this individual as proof of the poor service received. We tried to report him to the professional bodies re removal firms but tellingly he is not registered
