Very Disappointed

We recently stayed for a week at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Firstly I was not impressed with the room even though I chose a superior room, it was very basic and the balcony was very small, the bed was lovely and big but a little hard. The bathroom ..... well decor was horrible and badly done, the door to our room looked like it had been kicked in at some point as it was split by the lock and also no information sheet in the room regarding restaurant and pool opening times etc and the gift shop is extortionately priced. Also the lifts kept breaking down. When you first arrive your are bombarded by welcome drinks and a promise of breakfast at another part of the resort stating that it is a 90min chance to have a look at the suites and have breakfast. This is infact 2.5 hours of hard sell for a Club membership for $30,000 plus. We said no 4 or 5 times before we finally walked out! We did not pay 4k for a holiday to be bullied into buying something we did not want. Must admit it put a real downer on the holiday. There were some redeeming qualities, The buffet Style Restaurant the food was good with a good selection and the infinity pool was lovely with a handy swim up bar. I unfortunately would not recommend this Iberostar hotel.

Terrible stay at Iberostar Maya Suites - avoid

Stayed at the Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites

The positives, the hotel is in a nice location with a great beach and the staff are really nice, there are also a good selection of pools that were mostly well maintained.

The negatives, we have never experienced so many issues during any stay at any hotel around the world and are well travelled. Especially getting food poisoning twice during our stay here (we did not leave the resort so it did not come from anywhere else). Some examples:

The specific room we booked was confirmed and guaranteed by email by the hotel manager 5 days before our arrival. However when we arrived we were told it had been given to another guest and no proper explanation was provided.

Maintenance was done in our bathroom during our stay and we were not informed. A pile of dust and dirt was left.

We were told to book spaces in restaurants a week in advance but are unsure why as every time we went for diner all the restaurants other than the Japanese were all over half empty, this meant some nights you could not get a reservation in any of the resturants, even though there is lots of space and have paid for all inclusive. Assume the hotel is trying to save money by making people eat in the buffet

The El Tapatío Mexican Buffet restaurant was very poor. Our main dishes were not hot, or freshly cooked. It was the worst diner which is disappointing as we hoped to enjoy good Mexican food in Mexico.

The evening buffet was not great, some breads were stale and some dishes contained half cooked food and half raw food.

Room service food was delivered cold.

The pool towel policy to not reserve sun loungers was not enforced at all as the hotel claims. Half the sun loungers around the pool and at the beach had towels on but no people for half the day. You couldn’t find any free sun loungers after 9am.

The hotel shop prices are extortionate. A bottle of suncream will cost you $53.

There was also vomit in one of the pools during one afternoon and was there for over an hour.

We have emailed the hotel manager multiple times about the above and have not had any response. We would recommend staying in another one of the resorts in the area and avoid here as it is not worth the money.

Our Family stayed at the Iberostar Royal Mansoor Resort and were very happy with the treatment we received by all the staff. We very much enjoyed our stay at the resort and the Kids really enjoyed the Star Club which had activities 3 times a day and the staff were great , they really looked out for the kids. Our stay was between 7-5-24 to 14-5-24.

Outstanding

We stayed at the Iberostar Bahia de palma in Mallorca dates 2nd May - 7th May , the welcome we received at reception was outstanding we were offered a cold refreshment , chocolates and cold flannel to refresh after the long journey .
This set the standard enormously- rooms were very clean and well kept .
Staff were always accommodating with a smile , very helpful nothing too much trouble . This is the first we have stayed at a Iberostar and will definitely book again in other countries

If I could give this place zero Stars I…

If I could give this place zero Stars I would. DO NOT STAY HERE. The AC barely worked. Rooms were hot and humid. WiFi doesn't work. Room smelt like SH**T.
We checked in and checked out the same day. I don't know how this place is even in business. The front desk person said they were upgrading us and we were so excited about that... until we got to the room. It was a double bed instead of a king bed.
They said they could move us to a king bed the next day when we booked a king bed on our reservation.
Anyways you get the point. Stay far away from this Nasty property.

Iberostar Kantaoui Bay reception staff…

Iberostar Kantaoui Bay reception staff is horrible. Tried 3 days in a row to call and make a small surprise for my friend s birthday who stayed in the hotel. In 2 days i was waiting for and email with payment dates, nothing. 3rd day called again, they said oh we ll do that for free (it was a small cake and some decoration in the room) no worries everything will be nice.
So nice that it never happened.

Iberoestar Kantaoui bay Tunisia. Dissapointing

I contracted a full inclusive holiday. However the spa was not included and they told me I have to pay 60 Dinars per person (£16). I understand that treatments and massages would never be included but the pool and saunas should be. This is misleading because the photos show the spa facilities as part of the pool grounds. When I complained at reception the staff laughted at me which it was disrespectful and unacceptable. Essentially this is adevertised as a 5 star hotel but it has no sauna.
The air conditioning is not working until June 1st. Many parts of the hotel are in need of repair or modernization

Iberostar Kuriat Palace- Monastir Tunisia- Beautiful stay

We stayed at the Iberostar Kuriat Palace, Tunisia. It was a fantastic short holiday with lots to do for everyone in the family.

Kids club- for 4-12 years old- opened everyday 10-12 and 15hr-17hrs. Friendly staff, indoor and outdoor play area. Close to splash area and family pool.

Entertainment- lots of activities during the day- dancing, bowling, volleyball, yoga, boules- organised by the very energetic and friendly staff - they are very inclusive and will try to get everyone to participate. Activities led by Speedy, Nora and everyone on their team is fabulous.

All Inclusive- menu is delicious and minimal variations - can get repetitive- but always fresh and delicious. Beautiful desserts . AI also includes access to the a la carte restaurant (only with a set menu) - but you have to book well in advance to ensure you have a place.

Spa- beautiful, calming and relaxing. Prices are very affordable but spa is very busy- check and book your treatment days and sessions as soon as you arrive as they do not have much space left. The hammam is not very hot. The gommage session was amazing ! The Lomi Lomi massage not as strong as should be. The balinese massage was strong but not full 50minutes. More focus on back than legs and arms.

Overall- great stay. Timing (April) was not too bad - temperature between 13-31 . Températures drop suddenly around 3pm . Evenings are cooler.

Snack/ bar- slushies available on tap indoor and by the pool. Snack is 3pm- 5pm in the Tillar Bar. All inclusive means you are fed throughout the day and drinks available whole day at any bar. (All inclusive only serve local alcohol) . With all inclusive you also benefit from 50% off imported spirits (Black Label, Martini, Absolut etc) - the prices are quite low- a double of an imported spirit cost about £2.50

Rooms- spacious and airy. Bathrooms could be cleaner- sinks stopper not working well- sinks got blocked. Cleaning staff very lovely and would help if informed.

Well worth the price overall! Beautiful hotel, beautiful and lovely staff. Thank you

AVOID IBEROSTAR HOTELS ALTOGETHER

AVOID IBEROSTAR HOTELS ALTOGETHER. They attempted to scam us the day before arrival to Tucan in Playa del Carmen. We couldn't log into the app, so
we called to get help with this. Upon calling the reservations department, they told us that our reservation in fact was not confirmed (despite receiving a confirmation email when we booked months prior). They told us that when we booked, someone else had booked at the very same time; this caused our booking to be invalid and not in the system according to them. To confirm our booking, we needed to pay the current rate, which was 70 USD extra per night. We were freaking out that we had just flown all the way to Mexico and did not have a confirmed booking, and totally outraged that they were JUST NOW telling us this fact and demanding more money from us. After MUCH arguing and demaniding to speak to a supervisor, and then their supervisor, they agreed to reduce this rate by 50% (first sign this was a scam). We stood our ground and they finally waived this altogether. We then demanded to speak with the front desk at Tucan, who said our reservation was indeed confirmed and we were good to go. So that proved that the whole "you have no confirmed booking" was all a scam by the reservation department of Iberostar. This caused us the most insane amount of stress the day before arrival; half the family was in tears, and we were about to pay this extra money they claimed we owed because we had no other choice (or place to stay being Easter). Luckily, we held our ground, and getting through to our resort directly resolved everything. This experience completely caused us to lose all trust in Iberostar in general, and despite a wonderful vacation at Tucan, we will NEVER book a stay at any Iberostar in the future. We have spread the word on this experience on the Facebook page for Iberostar, so hopefully this will warn others to not book with Iberostar. It's such a shame that they run such a shady operation and try to get more money out of customers who are already paying such a premium and all of our hard earned money for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Such a shady dishonest company.

Staff are all great without exception

Staff are all great without exception! The hotel was clean throughout as was the individual bedroom cleaning. Ample room in the bathrooms with lovely complimentary products inc. Great choice of food at each sitting, however the temperature of the food could definitely be improved on. The entertainment team are all friendly and enthusiastic. Daytime activities varied from archery, boules, aquarobics, darts, ping pong etc. Nighttime entertainment could be improved. The team put shows on which whilst obvious there’d gone a lot of hard work in to them, there was a lot of miming to background music which wasn’t always the best. There were some good live groups on in between which helped but for us personally the daytime activities were the better of the two by far. This hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues due to the incline in which the hotel is situated. We never had any issues getting Sunbeds at any time of the day. There’s a separate adults only sunbathing section but unfortunately you have to walk through the designated smoking area to get to it, which isn’t ideal. Overall good value for money 👍🏼Will we return? Yes.

The Iberostar Selection Kantoui Bay

The Iberostar Selection Kantoui Bay, although in my estimation, not a 5 star hotel, the staff make the difference.

The cheerfulness, constant attention and cleanliness it appears is what is holding up this ‘tired’ once acclaimed 5 star property. The Iberostar brand can only be maintained if the ‘management’ invest in upgrading the overused parts of this magnificent property.

I feel I must commend Amelie, the supervisor of the cleaning and management of the fourth
floor who listened and understood my Complaint and worked quickly and efficiently to rectify what could have ended up as a disaster!

As someone who has worked in the travel and tourism industry for over 50 years, 25 of which was running my own high end tour operation business successfully in London, I have designed some of the most luxurious tailor-made tours around the world. Being my first visit to Tunisia, I was impressed by the people I came across and I have every intention of returning, more likely to share my experience with the rest of my family.

Thank you one and all!

BE AWARE!

BE AWARE!! These people will take your reservation money and will not refund it even if you change your dates. Tried contacting the hotel directly and won't even take my calls. The lady in charge of reception - Leslie Barbieri - didn't even try to understand my situation and the reason why I changed my reservation dates. All in all I'm out of $1200.00 and no resolution from Iberostar in Lima, Peru. Lesson learned

DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY ON THIS SCAM…

DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY ON THIS SCAM OF A PLACE.
Here's a quick summary if you do not wish to read my paragraph:
-staff was only friendly if they think they'll get money from you
-they have peddlers at every corner (this was somewhat of a culture stock to us) and even when you said no they would follow you
-its way too crowded-you can't reserve anything. You have to wake up extremely early to try to get seats at the beach but good luck
-place is gross-one day we came back from a fishing trip because my husband was severely seasick...once back in the lobby he threw up quite a bit of stomach bile and blood-it wasn't cleaned up and he was laughed at for puking (he didn't drink either, he was just very sick and close to needing a hospital)
-food was NASTY-it was cold, tough, has no flavor, we even got to the buffet when they opened. All food (even chicken, fried rice, beef) taste like fish
-we saw cockroaches in the buffets
-only one buffet was open at a time-theres no 24/7 food or room service
-small shops in the middle of restort were selling lost stuff like people sunglasses and hats
-you are only allowed 2 reservations to the actual restaurants. You can only go to two and some items on the menu cost you
-the "credits" you get are actually just coupons
-there is no real conservation. We're very big on that and we're very excited to see what they did there. The ponds and little places were a joke. The "coral lab" they advertise is nothing and no one was even there to say anything about it.
-most of the things you would want to do are at the better resorts, Punta Cana just has food and alcohol...but you have to pay for the nicer stuff.
This place was like a living hell. It was as if the moment my husband and me arrived we were easy targets since it was our first time out of the states. The moment we set foot in the lobby nothing was explained to us about the app or anything, just given our room keys and said "oh first time, we will have you come for a special breakfast." Okay cool. We get to our room-tv didn't work and the bathroom was kind of dirty. The following day we go to the lobby to try to get some explanations on now things worked and they just went back to the breakfast and said just use the app. Not friendly or helpful at all. Come to find out this "breakfast" is actually a "subscription" thing they have and it's basically a time share-a total waste of money and MAJOR scam. They kept saying that the breakfast was nicer food but it ended up being the same extremely gross food we had at our own resort. We were passed around to 6 different people during that dumb sales pitch and once they finally got the hint we weren't going to buy into it, they left us to walk back to our resort without anyway of knowing which way to go and in the rain. During said stupid pitch the promised 70 CASH. Well you get IberoCASH instead, only good for the restort. At the point we are begging for our travel agent to find us a way out of here. We went to dinner at not the buffet and THIS IS THE ICING ON THE CAKE. Not everything is included in this "all inclusive" restort. At the restaurant my husband got lobster which was 65 US dollars. So once we got the bill we tried to give them the IberoCASH, and even the room money in case that's how they charged it. The waiter said no, cash only. He made me stay until my husband ran to our room to get the money. It was only when after the waiter counted it, he then took our room number. Furious, we go to the lobby to figure out what the hell this place is and they dismissed us. It was not until I lost of crap in the lobby balling loudly yelling "I hate it here" over and over that someone finally helped. Even when we explained they still dismissed it and everything else we explained-somehow we got our money back after about 40-60 of fighting and me balling my eyes out on front of people. That's when we were able to leave this nightmare.
We hardly left our room due to how much anxiety this place gave us
