Florescents: T9 in both 9" and 16"

Have used T9 in both 12" and 16". Life expectancy was rated for 4yrs. Not so : 9" has lasted 3x as long as 16".
i.e. have had to replace 16' every 5-6 months, which on average of 5hrs/day use = 840 hrs. vs 1 yr. or 1820 hrs. {anticipated}. Certainly not the 4 years printed on each box...which would be 7280 hrs.
T9's are used together in a small kitchen area. And yes, ballast was checked.

Philips exterior lamps : poor quality and no service.

I bought in 2016 a full set of outside wall and standing Philips lights in Switzerland, a set of nine actually.
Prices was above average, but Philips has a good name in terms of quality. I have set them in 2017, and three years after, the transparent plastic protection of the bulb started to crack and big holes appeared with rain that could go through. I contacted the customer service for parts, and they mentioned that they could not supply. Their only obligation in terms of service was to advice the availability of parts at the moment of the purchase. Can you imagine the sales people at a big store informing about the lack of spare parts at the moment of the purchase ? I thought that this legal point was ridiculous for such a brand. Service is part of the reputation of a brand. In this case not only quality was defective, but service was insulting.
