Debit card fraud at Mcdonalds' mcdelivery.com.pk

I ordered online through the mcdonalds app. on 6th September 2022. The app links to mcdelivery.com.pk for orders. I signed in to my account on the website and placed an order for Rs 1930.

Usually I choose cash on delivery, this time I chose to use my debit mastercard. The app advertised special deals for mastercard users and I fell for the scam.

I entered my card details and a captcha code expecting to be asked for an otp.

However the next screen was an error message informing me that my order could not be confirmed. At the same time I received an sms on my phone and an email from my bank informing me that my account had been charged for the amount.

I immediately called mcdonalds helpline. The customer rep told me that the order was cancelled because of a "glitch on the app" He said not to worry, you will be refunded. He then proceeded to ask me fir the first 4 and last 4 digits of my debit card!! I was shocked. I said how can I tell you that...my bank has warned me multiple times never to share such info.

The Mcdonalds customer rep then told me that if I could not trust him, he was unable to help me. I should email mcdonalds pakistan.

I put the phone down and called my bank. They confirmed my account had been charged and they could do nothing.

I sent an email for help to mcdonalds pakistan, as advised but received no reply..not even an acknowledgement.

I messaged them on Facebook messenger and their Instagram account...no response.

When I logged in to my account on the mcdonalds pakistan website I discovered that my order was recorded as being placed on 4th September...2 days before the actual date of order. It was also recorded as being delivered!!!

So essentially I have been charged for an order that was never confirmed and the website is reporting it as delivered 2 days before the actual date. That is not a "glitch". It is plain simple fraud.

I doubt I will ever get my money back...because none of my complaints has even been acknowledged.

STALE FOOD AND IGNORANT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Lets give round-of-applause to;
*McDonald's Ocean Tower Branch Karachi and McDonald's Pakistan(Siza Food Pvt. Ltd.) for disrespecting customers with their pathetic services and violating all protocols of McDonald's Corporation by serving ill prepared and stale food in Pakistan.

There have been many events in multiple orders, but now this is getting on the nerves because facing such disgrace and insult in front of guest on receiving pathetic food is a proof that SIZA FOODS is on peak ignorance of any quality control protocols defined by McD's Corp. USA.

Following are details of one of the maybe million disgraces customers have faced due to McDonald's Pakistan shitting on such Prime Quality multinational brand, timeline of Last night order placed for Ramadan Deal via McDelivery PK. App paid by Card;
9.24pm order confirmed in app (expected delivery 10.10pm)
9.36pm confirmation email received (photo attached)
10.10pm email for order in transit (photo attached)
10.24pm first call to McD’s for no delivery, replied rider is about to arrive in short time
10.41pm second call to McD’s for complaint, and assured to receive call from brand in 5 mins along with delivery of order
10.44pm third call to McD’s, earlier disconnected and no response received.
10.51pm received order, but never heard anything from branch for reason of delay.

With 41 minutes of delay in such small order of just one sharing deal, received such ill prepared and stale food(literally prepared minimum 2 hours ago), It is such a regret that McD’s is not even following standard quality control protocols then how can we expect they following any SOP’s assigned by State for COVID-19.
Even remarks on the order have been ignored and how shame you would feel for sharing this pathetic food meal with your guest.
SHAME MCDONALD’S PAKISTAN (SIZA FOODS)

Update: Received apology call from Mr. Shafiq Ahmed (Brand extension manager) and offered refund with commitment to investigate such pathetic act from branch and bring back conclusion of action.
Therefore i requested them to hold my refund and will accept when proper conclusion of action is shared, more then few weeks have passed no one ever contacted back and on reminder email received reply from Mr. SHAFIQ to accept refund only, rest his email was silent of anything to my complaint.

Hence experience disgrace on order and now this ignorance from head office, i have decided to proceed with filing legal complaint in consumer court.
