If I could give this service negative stars I would. Absolutely the most ridiculous and cumbersome process, and they actually charge you to tour their homes. This has got to be illegal. As a longtim... See more

Easy to use app and no issues getting into any of the homes. Able to view houses immediately.
Being able to view the homes I'm most interested in on my own timeframe. The things I dislike about the app is when it just hangs and the logo just swirls and if and/or it gives a error the messag... See more

Racial profiling?
I've used Rently several times in the past to do self-guided tours of homes when I was looking in the past and had no issues, but now that they force you to share your location, upload your biometric data in the form of selfies, I'm pretty sure I was racially profiled. I set up one account on my iPhone-my business phone-using one email address and that number, but realized I would rather use my Samsung personal phone and, since I couldn't use the same email address again, it was a new combination number & email address. I thought it was completely harmless. Only I can prove it was an innocent mistake, but I couldn't get it to work at a property I was standing in front of and after about 5 phone calls with Rently's offshore call center and one of the property management companies that couldn't (or wouldn't) help me at all from Austin, Texas (I'm in Georgia), I was told I was just BANNED from not just that property management company, but TWO others that allow self-tours (Mainstreet Renewal, FirstKey & Progress Residential). It didn't occur to me until yesterday that since they have multiple selfies of me, it's clear it's the same person EACH time trying to view the properties that match the SAME drivers license that I also had to send a picture of, but they still insist there is nothing I can do to get off the naughty list. I've worked in tech before-there IS a way. I can't help wondering if it would be different if I had a different skin tone. It's really okay - it also concerns me that a 3rd party controls access to properties managed by another out-of-state company so I would hate to have an issue when I actually LIVE there. Maybe they need a local office but that would be too much like right. Things are hard enough in life to have to deal with stuff like this. I'm over it. Best of luck to everyone else.

What seems like a great idea for self…
What seems like a great idea for self showings of tenants so you're not constantly meeting strangers or having no shows is not disclosed during the sales call. What they don't tell you is that prospects have to PAY to get a code to view your listing. No tenants are going to pay just to look at a house. This was not disclosed to me in the sales call and only figured out during the hour training session they make you take. I have asked to cancel this months ago and they continue to charge me every month. I am having to call my bank and have them put a stop payment on it and file a fraud claim.

Scam
This whole business is a scam. Made me pay to view a home through a 'self-guided tour' and refused to grant me access to the home. I waited for an hour outside the home talking with their customer service, who verified my account successfully and requested information they shouldn't have (through the app) such as my SSN, and ended up telling me, after a whole hour!, that my phone's camera has issues connecting for a selfie and they wouldn't be able to help. Never again. Going forward, any property that uses rently is a property I will not be touring or applying to.
