DO NOT USE THEM

This was the WORST moving experience I have ever had. If you’re looking for quick and efficient movers look elsewhere. If you’re wanting your move to take 12 hours then this is the place for you. I was originally scheduled (scheduled weeks in advance) for a 9-10am time slot. I called the movers 10 mins before 9 to ask them to give me a call when they’re 10-15 mins away. I was told during this call that they wouldn’t be arriving until 10:15-10:30 due to “traffic”. I said okay and waited for that time. Then that time came and passed and they were nowhere to be found. I called the movers again directly (his name is Robert) and he didn’t answer. I called again at 10:45 and they were nowhere to be found and didn’t pick up the phone so I called Rio moving who reached out to Robert who told them he was about 5 minutes away. I rushed to put my cats away and he still didn’t show up after that for about 15 more minutes. When he gets there he moves so slowly. I understand that they do wrap up the furniture to make sure it’s safe and it does take awhile but as someone who hired movers, I shouldn’t have to help them. I brought things out to them to pack in the truck, wrapped my own TVs and monitors, and even had to pack stuff in my own vehicle. At that point I might as well just moved myself. It took about 4 hours to pack up a 2 bedroom apartment that’s 1,500 sq ft with primarily just furniture. They made comments every time they had to pack stuff like “oh we need to take this too”. They took phone calls (not work related) and would just stop to chat. When we finally packed up and left, my new place was only 41 minutes away with traffic. Now since it was a 26 fr box truck, it would take them longer than it took me by about 20 minutes or so. It took them 2.5 hours to arrive at my new place because they had to take a “bathroom break and fill up the truck” that they claimed only took 30 minutes. I called Rio several times saying that they hadn’t arrived and they’d call Robert in which he’d reply he was only 20 minutes away. Those 20 minutes passed and he didn’t show up. I’d call again and be told it would be 5 more minutes. 5 minutes passed and he still didn’t show up. I called Rio about 5-6 times and spoke with Walter primarily the “manager” and he even noticed that when Robert told him 5 minutes while I was on the phone with him that a whole 11 minutes had passed since that discussion and still no Robert. When they finally arrived, he unpacked just as slowly as he packed. If it wasn’t for the other mover Ronnie, who knows how long it would have taken. Again I had to help them because if I didn’t I wouldn’t have been unpacked in my home until about 10pm when they started at 11am. This whole move that was originally estimated for about 3 hours and only $485 turned into an 8 hour move and I owed them $900. Not sure how these other reviews have great stars because this was a horrible experience. And every time I told them what was happening, they only cared about how it never happened before and how they have 5 stars. Well guess what now you have one.

Horrible company!! Unprofessional!!

The 2 movers we scheduled never showed up so Brent supposedly sent 2 new guys to move my daughter and only one showed up to load truck. Supposedly both movers were supposed to meet my daughter at her new apartment and they never showed up after he was paid in full!! Terrible customer service; no one answered the phone!! I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!! 🤬🤬🤬

Now I will tell you that I spoke with Rio Movers this morning and they gave a full refund plus. I am happy by the way they handled my situation!! Thank you!!

Worst moving company ever

Worst moving company ever. Movers canceled on me an hour before my move because I wouldn't pay him an extra $100 to him making his pregnant wife do his work. Will NEVER use them again.

HORRIBLE !!

HORRIBLE !!! DO IT YOURSELF!! Set up appointment the beginning of July for July 30th. 2 men, 3 hours 16 foot truck. Heard nothing again from them until July 28. Now mind you, I’m packing…trying to move. I get a call that the 16 foot boxed truck is not available and that they need me to send pictures of everything that I want them to move. I stop MY work for them. Took the pictures, sent them and he tells me that I’m getting a sprinter van and that everything will fit. I told them I didn’t think everything will fit. Yea, those items did fit but I had to take 9 trips from NJ to PA and back after the move to get the rest of my stuff (I had to use my small Toyota). I was told if I had any additional items I could not add them…..well, cause now I have a MUCH smaller truck. For most of the time, the one guy was putting things in the truck, rearranging things several times, while the 2d guy watched him. Also, I made a wrong turn. He was following me. I had to turn around so I made a u turn in the NJ State Troopers driveway. He called me and yelled at me ‘ why are you turning into the police lot. Are you playing a game with me?’ Their game is making things take longer so they receive more money. They couldn’t get my sofa in the living room. I told them just leave it in the hallway, you’re not playing with it for an hour. I put my table back together and the box spring up the stairs myself because I wasn’t paying them another hour. The worst move ever. They know how to rip you off and they do.

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE! If I could give a -0 I would. This company is horrible & full of lies and excuses. My son scheduled 2 movers for 2hrs, 2pm-4pm and they never showed up. After over 41/2hrs of getting the run around & different reasons as to why we were waiting it turns out that they didn't even have 2 movers to send. 1 guy showed up but was told he was not allowed to enter the house until the other guy arrived, well 11/2 later still no 2nd guy even though kept saying he was on his way, stuck in traffic & when we said we had did it ourselves and to just cancel it, they then said the guy who had been there for over an hr could now enter the house & we said forget. After a wasted day, my son & his girlfriend & myself loaded the truck ourselves. I would never reccomend them to anyone not even an enemy.👎👎👎

***WARNING** DO NOT USE RIO MOVING!

***WARNING** DO NOT USE RIO MOVING!! I purchased a Groupon for 3 hours, 2 men with a 16ft box truck. Guys showed up late in half the size of the truck. They told me not to worry about the time as the size of the truck was not my fault. I told them to take the larger items first to get those out of the way. I was getting the new house ready and did not see that they took the smaller items. Since the truck was half the size it took them longer to move the items as they had to go back and forth from old to new house several times. They only worked the 3 hours, even though I approved charges for additional hours. The movers didn't say anything and just left leaving me with larger items I can't move myself. I called to complain and was told I'll have to pay them 3 and half hours of upfront costs to move larger items. After going back and forth I approved the additional time with new movers. I was told movers would be there either 9pm that evening or 7am the following morning. No one showed up. Management was terrible, movers were unprofessional. I'm left losing another day of work with items still at old house.
