Can't access movies and shows although I paid for it
Signed up for shudder in July of this year and everything was going fine until I tried to stream last week and got a message that there was something wrong with my billing. So, I check my account to confirm the monthly charge of 5 bucks and some change and didn't see it. No problem, I go back to my shudder account and re-enter my payment info and bam, I was charged and my account was updated. Streamed for a week and I tried to watch the other day and get the same message about billing! Now, I know for a fact it was charged and didn't understand why the card didn't debit on the scheduled payment date in the first place because my account could definitely cover a $5 charge, I then contact shudder customer service and they were no help,said they couldn't locate my account and recommended I sign up again and they would credit the account. Nope, I don't trust your platform anymore and your system not finding my account although I provided them with screenshots of the payment, screenshot of the error message on shudder.com showing the billing error and my email address. So, I deactivated the account because although it's only $5, I'm not just going to give away my money and your not providing the service. Lesson learned, I'll just be out of $5, Straight garbage!

Responded to promotion email for 30% discount. Instead of getting discount, go my account cancelled. When I subscribed again, had to pay full price. Shudder support is at best incompetent when dealing with them via email. I will never waste money on them again.
Horror Story
I signed up for a free trial to see if it was worth it, I didn't think it was, so I cancelled well within the time frame on their website. The website stated I had successfully cancelled. However it didn't and money has been deducted from my account. Please don't waste your time with this
SCAMMERS - DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
Shudders support team are either incompetent and should be fired, or are scammers. I had a payment of $70 come out of my account from Shudder that I did not allow, and when I tried to get help with cancelling the account they simply refused and acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. They will be taken to court.
Cancelled auto-renew
Cancelled auto-renew, found out from bank statements 9 months later that they have auto-renewed it anyway & that I’ve apparently had an active account for the past 9 months unknowingly. I cancelled the auto-renew and would never have kept the account active, the application they provide for accessing shudder on TV’s doesn’t even let you watch anything 90% of the time.

The first image you see when click on the app is a tooth person! I mean, literally a person that is covered with teeth. I cannot get past that image to even temp to watch. The app is not inviting at all. Obviously, Shudder needs to make some changes if they want subscribers.
Shudder originals are hidden gems
There are some really good films on here including horror classics and hidden shudder original gems. The only problem I have the app I use on my smart Tv is actually rubbish. Always loads low quality and is laggy but the one on my phone works fine. That is the only downside in my opinion fix the Tv apps.
I can’t unsubscribe
I can’t unsubscribe! None of the unsubscribe options are valid. I emailed customer service for help and they just sent me the options that I had already tried that did not work and then said the issue was resolved! It’s definitely not resolved because I’m still being charged for this garbage app. Is it so hard to have an unsubscribe button in the app?

I recently tried out Shudder, the horror streaming service, and I must say that my experience was a complete nightmare. As a horror enthusiast, I was excited to explore the extensive horror library that the service promised, but my excitement soon turned to frustration and disappointment.
To start with, the service did not work on any of my devices, despite my attempts to access it on my laptop, computer, and TV. I spent hours trying to troubleshoot the issues, but nothing worked. This was particularly frustrating, given that other streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ work seamlessly across all my devices.
Even when I was able to get the some of the service to work (for maybe at least 2 minutes), the streaming quality was inconsistent, with frequent buffering and drops in video and audio quality. This made it almost impossible to fully enjoy the content on offer.
Adding insult to injury, when I raised a support ticket to cancel my membership and request a refund, the customer service team declined my request, despite my being unable to use the service at all. This lack of customer support was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
In conclusion, my experience with Shudder was nothing short of a nightmare. The lack of reliable streaming quality and poor customer service made it impossible to fully enjoy the content on offer. If you're considering subscribing to Shudder, my advice would be to look elsewhere for a better horror streaming experience.
I ended up cancelling.
I was enjoying the service at first but I kept having issues with FINALLY finding something I wanted to watch, only to be told it wasn't available in my area. Ok, but why even show it as an option then?
I also went to re-watch a movie once only to be told it was not available in my area...but it was less than 12hrs ago. Eventually there was no new content worth watching and everything became B-Grade at best. Customer service is terrible so overall I wouldn't recommend this service. It was good for maybe a couple of months but got very bad very fast.
Fraudsters
Fraudsters. The first time I signed up a couple years ago, I decided to cancel after a few months because I had watched everything worth seeing and the selection seemed to be getting worse and worse. I cancelled, received my cancellation email, and moved on with my day. A few months later I happened to notice I could still login to the account that was supposed to be closed. Turns out Sh!tbags, I mean Shudder had just kept right on charging me for months. After a bunch of nasty emails and threatening litigation, they finally relented and refunded the months it remained active after demanding they show ONE login to that account from my IP since cancelling. Now a few months ago I gave them another shot, (like an idiot) and sent through a cancellation around 10 days ago. I not only didn't get an email notification of cancellation this time, but the account is still active and I'm pretty sure they went ahead and charged me again. Shudder is run by a bunch of thieving toilet bugs.
Shudder is terrible
Shudder is terrible. I thought I'd get a sms or something but they said I received an email 3 days before it was going to expire and It must of went to spam and they continued my subscription. Save your money not work $70 odd a year.
Went to cancel my free month…
Went to cancel my free month subscription and they offered me a free month twice, thought I was winning. It was all fraudulent, they went and charged my acct each month after offering confirming my free month. This app is dead to me. I wish I would have taken a pic of each time they agreed to another free month when I tried to cancel. I'm not sure it would have did anything anyway because you can't reach anyone anyway.

It’s not hard to figure out they offer a free 7 day sub! You have cancel in time frame the tell you! You cannot cancel the SUB on there app on phone most of time need to use a different browser like your desktop or laptop then go to there website and there will an option to cancel. Anyone complaining they were charged is because either them or somebody with there CC information ordered it or tried the free sub and didn’t cancel!
Could definitly be better
It's ok, it's definitely not the best streaming service by a long shot and I was rather disappointed at the selection the US seems to get an absolute ton of disturbing, classic and amazing movies whereas it feels like the UK version is massively neglected in the sense that the ones we get I don't think I've ever heard of half of them which can either mean it's bad or good but I sort of expected some newer movies on here but after watching some originals they were really good but please focus on adding more to the UK version as it stills feels very underwhelming and with a large quantity of movies only being on the the US version it's difficult to find recommendations for the UK version to the point where Netflix, Prime and even Sky movies are still better for Horror

Shame I love this app because now it absolutely sucks. Always error messages when connecting and customer service is the WORST. I loved it before but seriously considering cancelling as I can rarely even watch it with their issues.
Customer Service is nonexistent.
Paid for an annual subscription in July and have not been able to watch anything. Their customer service is non responsive, and they keep telling me to send the bill statement and I've forwarded it numerous times. Nothing has been done. What a waste of 60 bucks. Don't bother giving these people your money.
