Simple Nothing

They've set up their website to make it confusing so you will sign up for their rewards at a monthly cost. Disgusting company should be shut down

Good service!

Charmaine was very helpful - guiding me through the payment set up and everything. I had so many questions about how to pay rent and changing my rent details, she was very patient in answering my queries. Nothing but praise for her.

Fantastic Customer Service

The name says it all. Simple!
The set up was easy and the whole system is very user friendly. I love that support is available at your fingertips. The chat feature is fantastic and they're always very quick to respond and are very supportive.
A special shout out to Tiffany Frazer who has gone above and beyond what was expected with the whole set up process. She regularly checks in on us and has made our life so easy. Thank you to all the team at Simple Rent!

Would give zero stars if I could

Would give zero stars if I could. Absolutely appalling customer service. First time using and I got charged an extra $32. Contacted them and explained that as I am on limited income I cant afford it and they couldn't care less. And the errors that kept coming up with their website when setting up was appalling. I am very upset that I haven't been given a choice but to use this terrible system to pay my rent. The old way worked perfectly fine.

Holds a gun to your head and makes you pay fees

Absolute joke. Waste of time and resources. Not "simple" at all - the website is terrible and extremely unflexible.

Forces you to set up direct debit which costs $1.5 per transaction... I agreed to pay $450 per week, not $465.5. Then they charge $13.90 failed payment fee! Takes away so much autonomy over my own money. Really, really pushy on paying my card because they get 2% of the payment. For some reason my bond payment failed (didn't say why??) and lo and behold got an email saying "quick, to rectify this, pay by card now!".

Honestly would have turned down this rental if I had have known...

EDIT: the property manager said simplerent reported "insufficient funds" which is untrue - then I get an email asking for debit card payment at 2% markup. She said it was just as confusing on her and agreed for me to pay directly to their trust account.

Would recommend everyone just ask their property manager to skip simplerent

Rip off

charges $1.50 for each direct debit payment and $30 for credit cards. This company should be investigated and closed. It’s a joke - Ben Skeggs (CEO) you should be ashamed

first of all property managers make us…

first of all property managers make us use this portal to make them job easy and we can’t change any payment details, except a new card or bank account. also The fees I pay equals one or two weeks rent. this is Worst portal charges all 2% to pay through card and auto debit also has charges. and we have to make sure that money stays bit extra in account and in advance for week to get the process done.no idea how much they are making money from this as many people using this.I would have given them negative ratings if possible . No customer contact, always have to contact agent for any issue and that is more worst part.

Would give zero stars if allowed. Charging a fee to pay rent; ridiculous! Yeah yeah yeah they are charging the RBA cost of acceptance blah blah blah. But what about the thousands who were paying rent fee free previoulsy? If you can't manage the receipt of payments and want to force renters onto this platform then pay the cost of business yourselves rental property managers and don't pass onto renters! Gives rental property managers and those involved in this industry a worse stench then most already have.

Its a rip off

I don't understand why my rent is $395.00 but I have to make sure there is $396.50 or my account becomes overdrawn sometimes as I'm a pensioner and need to save for electricity/phone and so on. So why do i have to pay excess when the real estate company wants to use this company they should pay the extra money.

RTA PLEASE DO SOMETHING

Avoid renting from an institute that applies SimpleRent. Let's get them off the market. This system does NOT benefit the tenants at all. We were charged multiple times for 'late rent' because of a mistake in the system or the agency hasn't set it up correctly.

Not to mention the surcharge for -agreed upon by contract- using this system is appalling and it shouldnt exist. Who pays an extra 2% (at least) on top of the rent to be able to pay rent? That is insane, that comes to at least 10 AUD every WEEK (at least) on TOP of the normal rent.

Complaint? Go through your agent.
Mistake by the system? Go through your agent, after paying ''dishonour fee'' which is a joke, they said its 9 aud but they once charged us 150 AUD on top of our rent.
Rent not being taken out? Go through your agent, after paying dishonour fee, because its our fault we didnt let the agent know.

Its absolutely disgusting. Its beyond ethical that this company, and companies such as these exist and being promoted and provided.

Rta, please do something. With the housing market, people usually dont have any choices, which allows for these sharks to exist.

Simple rent is terrible

Simple rent is terrible. You can’t change any payment details, except a new card or bank account. The fees I pay equals to over a weeks worth of rent for the year. Not impressed with the whole experience with simple rent at all.

Great training, onboarding and so simple to use. SimpleRent provided amazing training of their system (no charge), and worked with us and helped bring all of our tenants across. Made the process very easy and to have a success manager work with us every step of this process was so helpful. I was originally worried about changing systems but Simplerent made this so easy.

I'm sure fine if nothing goes wrong

So, it wasn't greatly appreciated to be pushed into using this by my real estate agent when I have only have a few months left on my lease, but what a massive annoyance dealing with my first payment was. Initially the payment didn't go through. I had not added the $1.50 fee to my auto payments, so it rejected the payment. I then contacted my real estate, no response, so I contacted the chat box in the SR system and got some feedback on how to add a manual payment, which I did on the same day (Thursday). The quick feedback is the only reason I'm not giving 1 star. I received daily emails to pay urgently and even got an sms from my real estate saying we were in urgent arrears (on the Monday), where I had to call them to confirm the payment had gone through (which it had), yet the messages kept coming. Later that week they tried to take an additional monthly rent from my account (luckily, I did not have this amount sitting in my bills account). I was told by SR that I did not disable the payment (so it's my fault I guess!). I would have thought making a manual payment would have done this automatically. My real estate agent had to disable this for me and now I hope my next rent goes through without any issues. All in all, an unnecessary frustrating experience, the system needs updating. They shouldn't be allowed to force this on to me mid-lease and the fact the real estate agent had to get involved multiple times then it's hardly doing the job of handling things.

RUBBISH SYSTEM! DO NOT RECOMMEND

If I can give a zero stars I would highly do so. This system does not improve your rent arrears, it only increases. We were promised that the work load from our portfolio would be reduced & they would assist us in every way but instead we are having to do 10x more work. When signing up, we were only shown how enter in a tenant into the system making it so easy but it is not so "simple after all". When our portfolio of 850+ were shifted over the links were not working and it was not 100% ready therefore receiving complaints from tenants. When tenants email their support them, they refer them back to the agent instead resolving the problem on the agent's behalf saying they do not have the authority to do so. When you vacate a tenant, months go by and they are still active in the system and it does not register the final vacate amount you put in the system. Applicants we approve for properties no longer wish to proceed as they don't want to deal with simple rent based on bad review, this is also loss of business for us. I can go & on about how bad simple rent is. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Why can’t I give one star!!!!!!

This payment method fills me with a rage of a thousand suns. Have never been behind in rent till this thing decided to take rent after I had already paid it. Left me overdrawn for 3 days before returning my rent then charged me for the privilege of taking my money. So between bank fees and “simple” rent fees I’m not a happy camper. Don’t believe the hype about the discount thing they offer either. Majority of the vouchers must be spent in store not online and I still can’t find if the cards have an expiration date so too scared to buy one.

Seriously the worst system I have ever…

Seriously the worst system I have ever had to deal with. Impossible to download transaction history, transaction history doesn't show full amount, transaction fees for direct debits, FAQ page is useless, contact system is useless, if you do manage to get a message back from their agents they handball you back to your rental agent. I have a really hard time in seeing the point of this system. Is it just to offload admin to an external agency that just automates payments? You bank can do that. Is it to handle any payment disputes or enquiries? SimpleRent doesn't do that either...I am at a loss
