Starnow do not stick by their word
I paid my subscription to Starnow, and then 2 weeks later received an email from them that the site is going to be down as they have a new Web page which will be replacing the old one , they also said that all my information, photos messages will be automatically be transferred onto the Starnow page...when I was directed by them to go and check it all out, I found to my dismay that nothing of mine was on their new updated site...since then I have emailed them a good 7 or 8 times, and they kept saying we will correct it for you. I then got told to check the page again and this time only half of my details were on there, also another problem was that everytime I tried to apply for any modelling jobs, the Starnow website kept asking me to make a payment , when I had already done so before the old site went down, and now they wanted more. Legit companies don't do that, and after being promised that i can get a refund if I choose to cancel, I received an email from Starnow customer service saying that sorry you are no longer eligible for a refund,
And because I think I'm being fleeced, I have replied back to the lady and have threatened to get the small claims court involved if they do not stand by their word re giving me a refund. Its a Refund or the Small claims court?. Sophia.

I made it clear to end my subscription, they said after mid June my subscription won't continue. Yet they still took money from me and I cannot get a response from them. they said to give the 2 to 5 business days and somoene would get back to me. NO ONE HAS YET! Also I cannot stop automatic payments myself since the option IS NOT WORKING! I am worried they will STEAL MORE UNAUTHORISED PAYMENTS FROM ME!

Star Now used to be brilliant. I’ve recruited actors from there for my short films for the past ten years but, oh dear, it’s been absolutely ruined by the recent major revamp. What a disaster. Where are the video intros? Why is it now so difficult to use? Why isn’t there an indication as to whether or not messages have been read by the actors? I’ve sent messages to two actors in the past week and I suspect that neither of them has received an email alert to those messages.
I’m sure the people who instigated the changes will soon regret what they have done, with subscribers leaving in droves. I can but hope that they realise what a terrible mistake they’ve made and restore the site to how it used to be.

I’m a musician and all the music jobs have disappeared.
No matter how I set my filters all I get is acting jobs and voiceover stuff. Even for actors jobs the filters don’t seem to work. Set for uk and 50% of the listings are in USA and Australia. Also my promo video intro and music videos have disappeared too. Why have you changed everything- I’ve been a member for over 15 years - no point now - going to cancel (if I can figure out how ) very disappointing.

Used to be great, now it's unusable. All my casting history has disappeared, including the people I followed and followed me. Filter doesn't work, and they keep sending me emails of locations that I did not request. The talent meter doesn't exist anymore either. Will look for another website to use
The new website is dreadful!
I have asked to cancel my subscription. The older layout looked professional, easy to use and bright. They are going to massively regret changing it when they watch everyone cancel. Such a shame. If they go back then I’ll be sure to sign up again but not anymore I’m afraid.

Wasn't broken. DIDN'T need fixing
Went from the only site that was getting me gigs, more than an agency, with a website that was easy to navigate and a system that was great. Wasn't broken. Didn't need fixing. Now We have all lost photos and videos we prepared with no way of getting them back if they weren't backed up somewhere... Everything is back to front and all the reviews are gone.

Since StarNow merged with Backstage and revamped their apps and websites I have had absolutely zero responses to any of the applications I’ve submitted. Prior to all the changes I was getting quite a lot of interest.I don’t actually believe that my applications are getting through to the production companies anymore! What happened to the ability to track our applications? That’s completely disappeared! If nothing improves between now and when my sub is due for renewal then I certainly won’t be subscribing to this site any longer. What a shame - they don’t appear to be listening to all the negative feedback; money for old rope eh StarNow…?
Not Extras but Supporting Artists
It’s appalling that they still list jobs for Extras. They should never use this description which was abandoned many years ago. The majority of these jobs are for Supporting Artists. Most Supporting Artists aren’t in the far background but are in the foreground and are required to act without dialogue, in many cases, without these SAs there would be no scene.

The "new" Starnow layout is terrible and a maze to get around. They have seemed to copy Backstage's layout (which is owned by the same company), but I believe this was a very bad move and that they have taken a step backwards. There was a reason people used Starnow over Backstage, myself included. But now they have lost that ease of use factor and now they are both pretty identical. I was going to renew my subscription once it ended, but now I will not. Starnow have lost me as a customer sadly.

No pre warning of the brutal upheaval that was to follow. No notifications of jobs for over three weeks. Communication with the staff in Wellington used to be excellent but my emails of concern were ignored. How rude! What a disgusting way to treat loyal subscribers.
As many others have stated, I’d return in a heartbeat if the original format was reinstated. However, how would I know as I have now, sadly, unsubscribed and, I can only assume, my profile has been deleted.

A disaster since change
This used to be a very valuable site for actors. Easy to use and a ready made website that you could direct people too. It had a great layout and was simple to use for casting and finding talent too. However, since they changed the site it has become a disaster. Very poor design and not user friendly. No jobs posted on it for Ireland since the change, and despite setting my location to Ireland (which is a pain having to do in the first place), I'm still receiving emails about work in England? It's a horrible mess, avoid. A terrible shame that something so good could be destroyed overnight

StarNow’s new makeover has completely ruined the site. To add, they’ve increased their prices also. So it’s more expensive and 10x worse!
I used to rave about StarNow to other actors, now I will warn them not to use it. They have deleted my entire profile and cancelled my membership without warning (no refund either)
Don’t fix what isn’t broken! Just another scammy website now. Looks like like the others. Why would I pay $200 a year for a website that looks like every other one… when it USED to be around $30 a year. This is absolutely foul to all the loyal customers. They’ve completely screwed them over and probably cost them a bit of business too. I will be looking for a new website.
