Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 338 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers found the quality of the products to be poor, describing them as dry, stale, and made with cheap ingredients, which often resulted in an unpleasant taste and texture. Reviewers also frequently mentioned that the products were overpriced for the quality received, with some comparing them unfavorably to supermarket alternatives. The long wait times for orders, often extending beyond the advertised period, were a significant source of frustration for many, especially given the perceived low quality of the items upon arrival. Some people were dissatisfied with the customer service, citing rudeness and being blocked on social media for raising concerns about quality or wait times. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with their orders, praising the taste, generous portion sizes, and overall quality of the baked goods, stating they were well worth the wait.

Received at the weekend just gone

Received at the weekend just gone, not for me. Didn’t like the taste of the cakes. Enjoy watching the social media content, and the cakes were well packaged and looked nice, but unfortunately didn’t enjoy the products.

The cakes arrived safely, well packaged and my god, they were huge slices! The cakes were absolutely amazing I can promise you that. Well done T&N, I’ll definitely be ordering again 😍

Blocked me on Facebook because I called him out for using cheap ingredients 🤣
Uses cheap Sainsbury’s chocolate spread for his drip cakes, charges a ridiculous amount and is a nasty man.

Read the reviews , they speak for themselves

Worth the wait, and enjoy watching his banter x

I have been watching Terrys bakes for quite some time now. He is amusing and honest. Yes, he has a lisp, Yes, he swears alot but he still bakes a damn good cake and neither of those things can take that away. He loves his family and is the first to say this is the readon he bakes. He also likes to spend quality time with his family, and lets face it, which great father doesnt. He shouldn't be judged for this.
So I Ordered a mystery box from Terry and was well aware of the wait. The cakes always look awesome so when they arrived (well packaged) I was excited to look and try them. OMG! They were such big portions! But they tasty so delicious I didnt want it to end lol. Suffice to say, I enjoyed them so much, I have re ordered and looking forwards to my next mystery box to arrive. No rush 😉

Got an upcoming special occasion...in 2030??

If you’re considering ordering from Terry Bakes allow me to save you half a year followed by a huge let down.

Yes the website [now] says expect at least 12 weeks for delivery, however, my partner ordered in July for my birthday in November and 4 overpriced traybakes arrived poorly packed in a plain box at the beginning of January. £25/4? Having a laugh.

Lateness aside, what about the look and the taste? Well, imagine eating disappointment, but sweeter. Unfortunately two of our bakes were somewhere between 'stale bread roll' and 'emergency building material.' School cake was literally burnt but the icing still sweating as if it had been packed the week before.

Wish I'd read reviews before ordering rather than going on the hype. It's bordering on a ponzi scheme where you buy now to pay for the cheap ingredients needed to fulfil last year orders. We subsequently researched and found Terry has done loads of 'go fund me' pages where he spent the money on cars and clothes rather than his business. My partner complained on his Instagram and was deleted and blocked.

On the bright side, the experience has taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of reading reviews before ordering. Trustpilot is your friend!

Would I recommend Terry Bakes? Only if you’re planning for an event in 2030 and you want it to look like you'd popped to Aldi last week for the cakes and forgot you left them in the airing cupboard.

Great bakes

Great bakes, they do take some time to arrive but I’ve never ever in my life had a better white chocolate cookie pie and I’ve been around 41 years! The other bakes are very good. I think the comedy on Facebook is what drew me in, I won’t be ordering again because we have Immys cakes in Newport down the road which you need to try if you come to Newport Shropshire for a day trip!!!! She is amazing and Terry promotes her also. The nicest family business you will see! Terry works hard there is no denying it but he has a lot of flack which is so unfair, with cost of living and stress levels being so high, just be kind.

Avoid …Wait far too long…

Wait far too long. When you enquire how much longer you have to wait you receive a curt response . When cakes arrive they are squashed and are certainly not worth the price he charges … better off popping along to your local bakery . I am also aware of the various scams this man has made in the past … asking for money for a bungalow from his followers and then not spending it on its intended purpose.. going on holidays buying expensive clothes and then moving into a bigger house! No explanation as to why . Says he’s honest but far from it .

I had been watching Terry for a while...

I had been watching Terry for a while, and decided I wanted to try a mystery box, knowing full well I'd have to wait 12 weeks MINIMUM, I was happy to purchase and support his baking business.
There was a delay, but as Terry explains in his videos, things happened out of his control, as it does for anyone else, I wasn't in a rush, I knew I would be waiting for them regardless. This is always well explained.
The cakes arrived, and I was more than happy with the size of the cakes and the quality! Each cake was big enough to share between 3 or 4 members of my family! The school cake was surprisingly my favourite, absolutely stunning, as were all the bakes.
Keep up the good work Terry!

My sister ordered from him months ago

My sister ordered from him months ago, 5 months ago to be exact. When they eventually arrived they tasted disgusting. Dry and nasty. She'd have been better off buying the box mixes out of the supermarket and making them herself. At least they wouldn't have been made with cheap margarine instead of quality ingredients. Save your money and go elsewhere.

As Drippy as his drip cake lines

Frankly feel this is breaching all trading standards, takes orders [yes he does say there's a wait] spends your money on clothes new gadgets and the nerve to flash them on ticktock. Why on earth would you keep your orders open when you are not forfilling them? From begging for a bungalow for his son to begging for local traders there's no shame! Oh let's not forget beating his dog, such a wonderful man. Avoid at all cost much better bakers out there and much more appreciate your custom and better experience!

Stunning bakes

I have ordered 2 mystery boxes so far and they were both amazing. Yes there's a wait, no you don't have to order if you don't want to! There are plenty of other bakers you can support. But if you like Terry's humour and don't mind the wait then go for it!
