Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 338 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers found the quality of the products to be poor, describing them as dry, stale, and made with cheap ingredients, which often resulted in an unpleasant taste and texture. Reviewers also frequently mentioned that the products were overpriced for the quality received, with some comparing them unfavorably to supermarket alternatives. The long wait times for orders, often extending beyond the advertised period, were a significant source of frustration for many, especially given the perceived low quality of the items upon arrival. Some people were dissatisfied with the customer service, citing rudeness and being blocked on social media for raising concerns about quality or wait times. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with their orders, praising the taste, generous portion sizes, and overall quality of the baked goods, stating they were well worth the wait.

Awful cakes !!!!

Awful cakes !!!!
When I ordered it said a 12 week wait I received them after waiting for 6 months which is ridiculous, didn’t feel I could message and ask how much longer as he singles people out on his page and belittles them so best to keep quiet.
Cakes looked awful in the box once it arrived the box is too big for the cakes and the cakes are in plastic bags so icing all stuck to the bag.
We did try them but to be honest they tasted nasty so threw the away what a waste of time and money no point in moaning to him he just comes across as not very nice man and blocks people for complaining so no point,
customer service dreadful.
Do not buy total waste of money !!!!

Absolutely horrendous cakes (and zero custoner service)

Absolutely horrendous. Dry cakes, so stale they weren't even edible.
Icing stuck to the cheap rubbish packaging. Mystery box of 4 cakes and they can't even be bothered to send 4 different ones.
This company needs closing down. Once believed they were honest, but how they've dealt with myself and other customers, they're just a pair of fraudsters.
Do not waste your money.

Ordered these last year

Ordered these last year, and waited a few months which I was well aware of when ordering. It was a great surprise when they rocked up as I didn’t know when to expect them! They were great cake/bakes and I wouldn’t hesitate to order again if I wanted to.

Took months

Took months, no choice what you get , cake was dry and not worth £25 for 4 , had my money for 5 months before arrived he should be able to live of the interest from all money he takes in advance , shows on instagram he uses cheap ingredients .

The man is a con artist

I haven't actually ordered anything from what Terry calls Terry bakes.
And I never will. He's takes people's money for mystery boxes, I think the mystery is whether the people who has brought them will ever receive their goods?
His business is called Terry bakes but he never actually bakes.once a month maybe.
He's too busy spending money from people that have orded
Surely taking peoples money but not making effort to deliver the goods is fraud!!
He states quite happily that he's on September 2025 I mean we are nearly at the end of march 2026
The man is vile, he swears all the time and when you see his video's you can see spit coming from his mouth, yes I know he has a lisp, but he could wear a face mask he hardly wears
gloves when handling and decorating various items items, he makes drip cakes to headbut. While people are waiting 6 months for their order's. Using money thats not actually his because he hasn't earned it yet
This is not how to run a business!!

Please find another local cake business that will deliver what they say they will
Avoid Terry bakes

I followed Terry from the start

I followed Terry from the start, brought his mystery box on a 12 week wait as he said when they arrived they are average at best.

I have continued to follow Terry but then found Doughgirl who also bakes and wow these are proper bakes and cheaper than Terry and you do not wait 6months, but guess what he has since blocked me as well for promoting Doughgirl i assume, yetbif he ran his business like Doughgirl for instance then he wouldn’t have the reviews he has now.

He says thats how you run a business, well i run a business and i do not get paid until i have completed the job and the customer is happy, i do not say pay me now and in 6 months i will do your job, and then go out shopping, eating out and going on holidays, he is simply a fraud and social media should do something about it.

Mystery box awful 😖

I ordered a mystery box from Terry Bakes. Waited ages and the cakes were awful. Cheap, dry and just amateurish. This is NOT a professional trained baker. He and his wife are rude and insulting if you dare to complain about the lack of quality or the wait time. Really horrible experience all round.

NOT worth the wait.

Ordered when the wait was UPTO 12 weeks but waited way longer. Never had an update from the company. Cakes definitely NOT worth the wait. Even my children didnt like them. Very poorly packaged aswell. Commented my experience on a socail media post as no where to leave a review (until finding here).. my comments got deleted and I now cant find their social media any more. Find this super strange behaviour since am a paying customer. Prior to this i also seen a few customers get rude reply from them and one man got his order refunded after asking how long the wait was. I feel conned out of my money and highly DO NOT recommend. Wish I could give no stars...

Fell for the hype last year...

Fell for the hype last year.... ordered in August and received in January.

Cakes weren't the nicest at all, my 7 year old didn't even like them which is saying something.

Cookie pie crust was dry, sponge cake was mediocre at best and the other 2, the brownie wasn't even a brownie and can't remember the last one.

This is the only place you will get genuine reviews, for the past couple months I've gotten more and mroe frustrated as his true self comes to light. What was once considered possibly funny is now embarrassing for him.

Language is appalling, his efforts are shocking and the wait keeps increasing.

Please avoid and spend your money elsewhere!

6 months wait for 4 cakes that when…

6 months wait for 4 cakes that when they arrived were of substandard quality.. Cheapest ingredients used, portion sizes small and if anything is said online him and his Mrs give abuse and block. Thier block lost is actually probably now bigger than their followers. They seem to spend less and less time baking and more time creating content about shopping hauls and meals out, spending customers money without fulfilling orders. No cake company takes 6 months to deliver, he might have told people there was a wait, but didn't think they were expecting 6 month and some.. Keeps on taking orders even though so behind. Watch his videos he seems to prefer spending his time baking drip cakes, for which he then goes on to headbutt.. Absolute disgrace of a man. And his wife no better.

Honestly biggest disappointment going

Honestly biggest disappointment going. I stupidly gave into the hype, ignored the reviews because “surely if there’s that long a wait he must be doing something right” no no. The wait was 12 weeks, it went over that. What I received were 3 sweaty cakes/cookie pie things in sandwich bags. School cake undercooked and wet, cookie pie products were stale and tasteless. He may have months of orders but I can bet they aren’t repeat customers, they’re probably people like me who have given into the hype and will be extremely dissapointed. Appearance, taste, delivery and customer service are all appalling, buttered really is no redeeming quality. Go to your local baker, have a look online and the thousands of amazing bakers available because Terry Bakes is a flop.

Waited 14 weeks for the delivery

Waited 14 weeks for the delivery. The old school cake was undercooked but also didn’t taste good at all. So binned it.

The cookie was just bang average nothing special

£25 for 4 cakes is too much for what I received. Won’t order again.

More interested in baking and…

More interested in baking and headbutting cakes than actually getting orders out. I’d give him a wider birth than the tiny cakes he’s baking in a calzone box for a fiver each. Dare to question it and you are immediately blocked.
