Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 338 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers found the quality of the products to be poor, describing them as dry, stale, and made with cheap ingredients, which often resulted in an unpleasant taste and texture. Reviewers also frequently mentioned that the products were overpriced for the quality received, with some comparing them unfavorably to supermarket alternatives. The long wait times for orders, often extending beyond the advertised period, were a significant source of frustration for many, especially given the perceived low quality of the items upon arrival. Some people were dissatisfied with the customer service, citing rudeness and being blocked on social media for raising concerns about quality or wait times. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with their orders, praising the taste, generous portion sizes, and overall quality of the baked goods, stating they were well worth the wait.

Order cancelled for no good reason after 5 months waiting! DO NOT ORDER

I ordered a £25 mystery box of 4 mixed bakes on 18th September last year. It's a shame I can't post photos on this review... but their website stated at the time I ordered, that it could take UP TO 12 weeks to receive.

I thought oh wow this must be good and worth the wait, so paid and was happy to wait 12 weeks as I thought it would be a nice surprise through the post once it came. I expected it to be around Christmas if not after.

5 months went by and I had no email updates to apologise or explain why it had taken so long. Bare in mind I am a baker myself outside of my busy full time job, so was disappointed this happened.

I had seen the negative reviews but wanted to be open an un biased so kept waiting like the fool I was.

During these 5 months I was checking their Facebook socials page (I'm not really on any other socials) and realised how appalled I was with a few things.

Firstly- the hygiene. The baker has a bad lisp and I have seen in many videos the saliva spitting out of his mouth onto the bakes. I would be mortified if that was me.

Secondly- he had become rude and disrespectful to his customers. He seemed okay and funny at first but he has changed. His attitude and swearing has increased and genuinely comes across like he doesn't care. ANY and I mean any criticism he receives from his customers concerns, are deleted and then blocked. It's shocking.

Thirdly- He is a one man band. He has a 5-6 month backlog because he refuses to hire in any help. His videos only show him working part time and he clearly states he doesn't care.

Fourthly- Delivery. I didn't know till later that when the bakes are delivered they have to be signed for. This is an issue because I work a normal job and am out of my house all day (unlike him). There is no option to choose a date or even date range to say when you would be in. Might explain why delivery is £5!

I waited 5 months and my order was cancelled. This happened because I commented on one of his whingey videos he made about ideas on how he could make more money. As a customer who had been waiting long enough, I got fed up and commented on it. My comment was very reasonable as all I did was suggest he focus first on clearing orders. I was also concerned about the delivery because if I missed signing for it by royal mail, it wouldn't get delivered!

I got home later that day to find I was blocked from his Facebook page. I received an email stating my order was going to be refunded. I emailed them bad confused and asked why. I had no response.

I found out late he had replied to my comment then did the coward thing of blocking me so I couldn't see it. I am now in a good supporting social media group for people who have had the same experience and also see behind the mask he puts on. There are some helpful supportive people on there.

Absolutely shocked. I'm not a malicious person but If I upset him somehow, feel it should have been resolved over email of communication.

Terry is a mess. the customer service is dreadful and you will get blocked if you dare question where your order is at!

He just wants to make more money. The hygiene is bad, the bakes have actually gotten worse (From the social videos I saw), so maybe it was a godsend. Anyone who enjoys them otherwise is honestly deluded.

Wish I could add photos of what I have said, and also give it 0 stars but can't.

You can't review him on google either. I don't think he actually has a registered business. The facts just get worse and worse.

PLEASE AVOID. There are so many other wonderful small baking businesses out there who won't treat you badly and question you when you have an enquiry. During that 5 month wait I was lucky to get for my birthday a box of baked goods from another company who sent it quickly. They were wonderful.

What a shame for his customers.

Wow where to start

Wow where to start. Now almost a 6month wait for 4 slices of cake. Was going to order as friends early on said cakes were good, but now more people I know are dissapointed as the bakes are poor quality, a 12 week wait was borderline acceptable but this is now ridiculous opening up for more and more orders, backlog getting longer despite Mr Pegler promising he would be working longer and harder to clear the backlog. This clearly isn't happening as he and his cheating wife are out openly spending beyond their means.
The amount of videos of him spitting over the cakes is vile to say the least and then in his pathetic childish ways headbutting drip cakes just for social media views.
They are not running a business how it should be run as any negative comments are deleted within minutes by Mrs Pegler and if you dare question anything regarding an order she is nasty and vile with response.
Also how can you call your bakes Mars or snickers whe you are using cheap supermarket alternatives.
Nasty horrible couple

Took 6 months to arrive

Took 6 months to arrive, the cookie pie was ok, the brownie more like cake, the oaty thing was average and the coffee sponge didn’t taste of coffee and was very dry. Not great

Absolutely shocking quality

Absolutely shocking quality. My kids could make better. The wait time far exceeds the 12-week time you agree too. I think trading standards need to get involved.
If you cut down on the stupid instagram rubbish and spending the money for goods you haven’t yet delivered, I’m sure you’d be far more productive.
To anyone thinking about using this man, think again. You can get much better quality elsewhere.

Operation Stop The Beglers Part 7

How selfish and irresponsible...you said no more holidays abroad not long after...

I watch you wasting time with pointless things, your profiles would be fine without all the extra stuff, just bake and make it good, if you're asking your followers what they want to see past the baking then you are not a creator, you have no ideas of your own, they are creating for you!

You're like a duck trying to keep afloat, your little feet flapping under the water, trying to churn up sediment for content 🤦🏼‍♀️

You are no different to anyone else on SM, you are not unique, or do things differently...you never champion fund raisers for other people or use your channel for raising awareness (Epilepsy for instance), you never give back to your community, you never have anything original or come up with anything different in your bakes, you just copy other things you've seen but you make it worse... the product is worse...the service is worse...the way you treat your customers is worse...

Ahhh, I've just realised, I suppose that's what you do different isn't it, that's your thing! Being the worst! 😕

When will it be enough Terry?

You always want more of everything!

I've lost count of how many different tracksuits I've seen you wear, I'm sure I've never seen you in the same one, are you in the Royal Family?

More food, more bake money, more time off, more shopping, more tat but never more baking, the thing you've been paid to do!
All your followers enabling you and making you feel like what you're doing is good enough...it isn't!

You don't have time off to be a family, you have time off because you hate the baking now and your followers have given you permission to slack off, if they said "No Terry, we're not happy with that wait now, you're letting it get worse and worse, I'd like a refund and I'll buy elsewhere" I bet if a large amount of customers started asking for a refund then you'd be getting them done because you don't have the money to refund lots of people... the truth is, you are not working hard, neither of you, if anything you are leisurely getting through orders like it's not your priority!

You have completely lost yourself in your pursuit to be a SM "sensation", the business will fail again but you're hoping by that point you'll have enough engagement to just do SM, that's the dream isn't it?

It won't happen though, because you have no special talent, nothing that's that interesting or engaging to say or do that thousands of other "creators" dont already do, that's the truth 🤷🏼‍♀️

I won't apologise for the lengthy posts, sometimes you can only see when it's written in plain English, even when it's happening right in front of you, of course, with a little sprinkle of sarcasm to sweeten the truth for the loyal, the ones who keep your pockets lined with spends, the people who WORK SO HARD for their own families and barely see them to enable you to apparently spend more time with yours (haven't seen much evidence of this yet)
Instead you faff about trying to find something you're good at, or funny at, treating these people like they're beneath you, making them wait, yes, MAKING THEM WAIT because you could so easily pull your finger out and really crack on for at least a few days, you've got 5 OVENS TERRY!

And yet they're barely used, all that time and money spent on that bakery because it will enable you to GET MORE BAKES OUT THAN EVER BEFORE

YEAH YEAH YEAH!

It's all a load of bull, when are you going to start baking more? We're all waiting for this fantastic turnaround!

Are you wising up yet people?

Come on, this man is getting further and further behind!
You do realise that he's just taking the pi55 out of you all, if that moneys not spent then it's sat gathering interest in an account, but I doubt there's anything left anymore the way they spend, they just take!

We know of people who have had to do a bank chargeback because when they agreed to their order it was 12 weeks, it's only been going up and now is knocking 6 months wait, which was not agreed to at the point of sale.

You could show them you mean business Terry ...but you don't...because you don't care, you are a selfish, childish man, acting like a little kid who doesn't want to do his homework or clean his room and making EVERY SINGLE EXCUSE under the sun to get out of it!

"Ooo, me and my son want to metal detect, lovely family time together"

Where????

All we see is you, indulging yourself, yet again, spending hundreds of pounds on a bloody metal detectors that no ones ever heard you take interest in before!

We all thought that'd be lovely to spend time with your youngest boy seeing as you seem to favour the eldest, I suppose he wouldn't be a money maker though so he's probably sat at home watching you do something he wanted to do without him, and then when you get home you'll be editing and faffing for ages... poor lad, he was expecting time with his dad.

Absolutely ridiculous wait times

Absolutely ridiculous wait times. I’ve been waiting 5 months for 4 bits of cake. You’ve got other bakers that get their stuff to you next day delivery and manage farmers markets as well. Guys an absolute joke. Taking everybody’s hard earned money and blowing it on the likes of metal detectors.
Do not order from this joke IF my cakes come maybe next year they’re getting volleyed in the dock. Dosent help he’s absolutely obnoxious about people being pissed off with the wait times. Scammer

Wouldn't bother. Save your money

I ordered from Terry Bakes last year. It was posted on a Saturday (with a bank holiday Monday) with DPD. I didn't get them next day, as expected and paid for, because DPD don't do a standard Sunday delivery. Clearly they didn't come on the Monday either. When I finally got them, they were in an awful state. I messaged to tell them and the attitude back was just awful. I asked why you would post out food that you knew full well wouldn't even get delivered for 3 days (and they charge for a next day service)! After some discussion they sent a new box but told me that even if anything happened to that
one, it was basically tough.
The first batch went in the bin and the second lot may as well have gone in the bin too. The only half decent one was a gold bar brownie. The rest were cheap dried tasteless rubbish. Not worth the bother, the wait or the money.

This guy is an entertainer

This guy is an entertainer, he bakes a few cakes as well but he's an entertainer, most people don't really care about the cakes, we watch his tiktok for entertainment, no one is forced to buy his cakes, it's a choice, if you you don't like him just skip on. My review is for the person, not the cakes, Great entertainer, keep it up Terry.

Avoid at all costs

So back in october 2025 I came across some videos of this guy terry and at first glance he looked entertaining and the bakes somewhat looked nice from the reels I saw so being intruiged I decided to order some acknowledging a 12 week wait to then only over the next few months following the order I saw the true side to terry which is him being a nasty individual from videos of him harming his dog to videos of his saliva hitting the cakes/bakes he is making for customers.

Now fast forward to february and here I am still waiting for my order, and it hasn't even been placed on his to-do list as he is still stuck in september so I decided to save myself from his horror and refund successfully, and I would encourage anyone else who is considering ordering from this self-exclaimed baker to avoid and go elsewhere.

I would avoid avoid avoid

I would avoid avoid avoid! Have already taken money on hundreds of orders and still not fulfilled these, being 5 months plus behind. The website states at least a 12 week wait even though this is way longer judging by other reviews and complaints on TB pages. Any genuine negative reviews are met with distain and angry responses, the owner dismissing these as disgenuine. Are we really all silly enough to believe there is only good things to say about this cake maker!! Says it all when these comments are quickly deleted. If I had spent my money on some cakes which look rushed and are made with cheap products, whilst seeing the baker and his family blowing it in London on very expensive clothes, food etc, I would be very annoyed. If he just caught up on orders and then took more it wouldn't be so bad. Look at the cakes he used to make before he had to fund his lavish lifestyle, they looked like they were made with pride. Now he just churns out the same cakes, dry and cheap whilst prancing around in his Boss trainers you've all prepaid for. My advice would be go elsewhere, such better, hard working bakers out there with lovely bakes who don't take your money and provide cakes months later. Remember people these are easy quick bakes you're waiting months for not a hand made sofa.

It is well documented that this guy is…

It is well documented that this guy is a scam artist who makes up fake “go fund me” pages and other awful stuff, but what worries me the most is that the only company under Terry or Nikita’s names at Companies house is the now defunct Bakeaway. What this means, is that TerryBakes is not a registered business. I checked this out, as, I knew that the waiting time is illegal for a registered business. Basically all these people ordering his cakes, need to think about their payments, ie where they are actually going, and how buying from a business that isn’t registered means no protection for you, no tax returns and no clarity of annual accounts to see what money is coming in, and what’s is being paid out. There should be a proper and fully separate business account, not forwarding through a third party middleware extension. I have done many searches as this was my work before, so if anyone else would like to look as well. Please feel free. Terry has been banned a couple of times recently from TikTok, the most recent being over online bullying. So, before you start on me in one of your video rants
No, I don’t still live with my Mum
I have always been employed since 14 years old, I have only had to stop working as I have fast growing aggressive cancer.
No, I do not spend my time at home w*n**ng to dodgy videos.

OVERPRICED JUNK FOOD WITH ADDED SPIT

I struggled to find anywhere i could post a review that could not be deleted by the business owner. This business literally has NO reviews online what so ever. Surely if he's as good as he says he is there'd be 5* reviews all over the Internet? So strange that he has disabled Facebook reviews and Google reviews. Thank goodness he's not able to disable or delete trust pilot reviews. Its the only place I was able to find where I could leave a review. I have never ever come across an online business that seems to discourage reviews being left...very odd.
Anyway my bakes arrived 20 weeks after I ordered and paid for them. Terry Bakes took my money 20 weeks before he decided to fulfill the order....bizarre. On opening the box to get to my much awaited cakes I was disappointed to see that the cakes looked like they'd been bouncing around in the postal system for 20 weeks....perhaps stuck in the back of someone's van all that time.... I would have posted a photo however it seems that option is also not an option...again why wouldn't he want photos of his "massive and delicious bakes"
I couldn't eat them they looked that bad, and also after watching more of his videos recently I've seen spit flying from his mouth on to his bakes...there was no way I could eat them after seeing that.
Being honest I'd pondered canceling my order many tines as new information came out about the business owner. He has apparently been seen in a video talking sexually to children(Boys) and apparently another video of him beating his dog before he rehomrd it. He is also seen buying the cheapest of cheap ingredients for the cakes he is selling but buys high end quality ingredients for anything he or his family will be eating. Its very easy to learn stuff about this man as he appears to live every aspect of his life through social media. Anyway I dont recommend this business nor would I order from him again.

My review of Terry bakes (yes I have ordered from him and no I’m not a troll)

So I just wanted to come here and tell everybody my honest review

I was so happy to order from Terry bakes to start off with.

The time to wait I didn’t mind as I thought it would be a nice treat when it turned up

How wrong I was
the items turned up on a really hot day so all the toppings and welded onto the plastic bags

Not a problem as the instructions said to put in the fridge which I did and got them out to try for tea

The old school sprinkle sponge was over baked and stodgy

The brownie had no chocolate taste and was very flat and dry

There were 2 cookies sandwiched together with a “kinder” spread
the cookies had disintegrated around the edges and the spread had a strange oily aftertaste

The last item was a white chocolate oatie
The topping had become liquid so I was hoping it was going to be better after being in the fridge but it was way too sweet and the oats had an oily taste

I usually love to support local and always try to buy from surrounding area but this is one baker I would not go back too

Cheap ingredients, premium prices

I’ve known of Terry for a few years in and around Norwich. I’ve had a few “bakes” He’s ran the business from his house in sprowston, had a shop near the brickmakers, closed the shop, ran it from a house in Hellesdon, then opened a shop opposite the whiffler, shortly after closed the shop and operated from home again. He was called bakeaway in the early days, but that company got dissolved. During all this he was also operating as hammer bakes on twitter. So it’s a bit of a mess.

These cakes and bakes are made using the cheapest ingredients possible. Which, when charging premium prices is disgraceful. You clearly don’t care about people if you’re letting them consume a mix of palm oil, emulsifiers and other chemicals. I personally wouldn’t put the mix of high processed food into my body but each to their own. There’s a reason it’s called buttercream: you use butter not chemical filled Tesco soft spread. This in itself is a trade descriptions breach. But this is done because butter is £1.99 for a 250g block and the spread you can buy a kilo for about the same price. As for using Ms Molly Tesco chocolate instead of a high quality brand like callebaut shows it’s about profit not taste and quality.

This is such a shame as Terry clearly has a large following but instead of providing quality bakes he aims to do it as cheaply as possible to maximise profit. Also the problem is rather than take any feedback on board and make changes he calls any criticism as fake or haters etc and loyal sheep followers will back him up. If he could get someone with some knowledge onboard he might be able to turn it around but the only person ruining his business is the owner himself.

It seems he’s more interested in being a social media star than a decent baker. Avoid.
