The Gym group has an extensive supply of machines that is well spaced unlike some others. Their apps allows me to see off-peak and peak periods, so I can select a time best suited to me.

Romford management is pretty good for reminding users to replace weights and equipment to keep safety as a priority and I quiet like that.

It is a big gym, but needs more variety of gym equipment

It is a big gym, good equipment , but it definitely needs new machines, a bigger variety , bootybuilder, chest, triceps etc. I would recommend a more strict policy towards people that don't respect gym etiquette and definitely not under 18 members , as that is the main group that causes issues I the gym, in terms of not respecting gym etiquette, no manners, BO etc and makes it a not so pleasant environment
Management is super nice, Lawrence and Ryan very helpful and efficient in sorting out issues.
Otherwise a fairly good gym, does the job.

One of the worst in the country

One of the worst in the country.

I’m an ultimate member and travel all over the uk for work, this branch is disappointing and very unpleasant to train in.

The lay out is decent, the equipment is ok albeit a little tired, the spin room is really nice (love the dark), the problem is the members and the lack of respect for the space.

Every evening I went in, equipment was messy, plates strewn randomly across the the room, dumbbells scattered randomly on the floor and empty water bottles left everywhere. The change rooms were filthy and it was nice a nice place to train for a whole week.

I chatted to one member who was new, she said speaking to me was the only positive interaction she had since joining. I’m pleased I was only visiting.

This is no reflection on the trainers, it’s purely the area and the people that train here. So sad when so many other gyms are tidy and clean.

Great place to workout.

Really like working out here. The staff are friendly without being overbearing.
There is a nice mix of equipment and the layout makes it easy to find your space. You can tell the team and cleaners put effort into keeping everything clean and tidy. Great place to workout.

Great gym and very friendly staff

The gym has a great atmosphere with excellent facilities and a welcoming environment. The classes are a highlight, especially those led by Alberto, Ryan, Cairo, and Eleine—they bring great energy and expertise to their sessions. The staff is also very supportive, always ready to help and create a positive experience for members. Overall, a great place to work out and stay motivated!

Great staff, could add 1-2 pieces of equipment

Lovely gym, good facilities.

The free parking is a welcome touch given how busy Romford can be.

Vaz is great to have around, he interacts with everyone to see how they’re doing which gives the gym a welcome vibe.

One small thing, it would be nice to have 1-2 fixed weight ab machines. Currently you can only use the free weights. This is great if you’re very familiar and comfortable, but if you’re still new it can be a bit confusing.

The Gym Group Romford

I joined this gym and what a surprise to see staff who are motivated working in this sector. What I really like here not only do they have all the equipment you would expect a gym to have they have a wide variety of classes.
If your like Fit Box and or Boxing they have 4 bags to practise, and various classes to choose from. There is no annoying contract so you can cancel at
anytime without occurring further
cost. There are generous sized ladies and mens changing areas
with showers. Lockers are available, just bring your own padlock, or purchase one from a vending machine within the gym.
They have an amazing group of Personal Trainers who are motivated to getting you to your goals. Sign up and try the facilities it's slso open 24hrs, so no excuse, you can train anytime you wish. There are also two managers on site who are more than happy to answer any queries you may have. If you are
not happy with something please flag it up first with one of the
managers and give them the
opportunity to put it right, and if they are unable to, they will give you a reason as to why something is the way it is. This gym is great value for money.

PT Session

My experience at the Gym for past year has been very good. I started a year ago to get in shape & have a better lifestyle, I asked for a personal trainer to help me, I was welcomed by Georgina.
Georgina has helped me so much during the past year which so much support and guidance & I love going to our sessions each week now! I have been pushed to my limits and I would definitely recommend her to other members. Thank you Georgina & look forward to more sessions.
All the staff are really helpful & friendly too.

The gym group Romford

The Gym Group Romford is a newly refurbished health club well equipped and quite spacious, and has a great variety of classes included Body-pump, Conditioning, and Boxing with professional and qualify PT'S

As an existing member, I needed a new challenge, and with the help of Ryan Herold and Alberto Salvi I came across Hyrox training.

I think Mindset Training is underrated and day by day it can be hard to stay motivated. But training should be fun and challenging at the same time.

This type of High-intensity race is very challenging and from start to finish has surpassed my expectations .
I highly recommend it to anyone that is open to new challenges.

Great value for money!!!!

Gym needs to be cleaned and it stinks inside. No weights available for free weight section and not enough weights. No one uses towels and machines have no equipment to do the training. Gym all about the quantity of members and not quality of equipment.

Great Gym.

Great Gym with a large variety of machines and equipment. Very well kept and organised daily. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Adonya Anderson is a PT at the gym, she’s one of the best I’ve been trained by, a consummate professional with a fountain of knowledge to share. A very friendly person who always makes the place feel great.

Just Joined Romford Gym and I got Parking Fines!

As a new gym group member at Romford with top tier membership that states I have access to FREE parking and then after using their 'gym group' parking i received a parking fine for my very first entry and i suppose i will be getting 3 more!

Note, contacted gym group as their contact number is automated and can only assist with billing queries.

I received an automated email from gym group after completely an online form, stating I need to contact the company that gave me the fine/s. Utter joke this.

A £60 fine that will go to £100 and thats only my first visit, and then i'll have another 3 more due in the post lol. incredible.

Contacted the parking fine company and they have also have an automated service that only allows payment on phone or option 2 to cancel. No one to talk to by phone.

Will be sending emails and I'M NOT PAYING THE FINES!

Note. Checked signs before entering car park and no warning to say i must enter my vehicle reg anywhere!

We are sorry to hear that you have been issued a fine but I'm afraid there is nothing we can do in retracting this as we do not manage the parking at any of our gyms and therefore have no jurisdiction over the decision. The car parking company typically manages it either on their own behalf or on behalf of the leaseholder of the premises/land.

The parking regulations would be highlighted on your member's area, such as the maximum time and in the branch if they require you to input your car registration on each visit.

If you have been issued a parking fine and are not in breach of the parking regulations, you will need to contact the parking company directly to appeal this fine. The parking instructions for your branch are highlighted on the branch page, and also located in the manage parking section of the member's area when you log in.

You will be able to access your gym usage information via the member's area to supply evidence for the appeal. Simply head to the My Gym tab and select My Gym usage. There you will see a graph for the current month which you can change, and at the bottom of the page, you will find a table with a complete view of the specific date and times of your visits.

Absolute cheating system with parking at Romford The gym

Absolute cheating system with parking at Romford The gym
What an absolute load of shambles.

Yet again got issued a PCN when their dodgy machine not working again. This time I got my proof and took pictures through my 75 minute stay at the gym which is well within the 3 hour permitted time at the gym.

Before the gym issues a nonsensical ridiculous inapplicable response on trustpilot which they are quick to do always, this is 3rd time I’ve been charged in 4 months because their stupid machine wasn’t working. Yet on previous appeals they state ‘our machines always work, you didn’t key in reg’ well Yh simply ridiculous piece of work. Caught you and your stupid team out now. Didn’t know I needed to previously but this time took pictures throughout my gym stay that machine was simply out of order during my whole time there.

The gym is littered with cameras, yet they couldn’t liase with parking eye, their private parking company they hired by the way to confirm or deny keying of registration entry. Yet all they can say is nothing can be done as we do not control parking eye. This is clearly a faulty dodgy system error and a ploy to take customer money with false allegations.

3rd £100 charge in 4 months, simply makes up way in advance of what an annual gym membership would cost.

Previous reply also noted to appeal on traffic tribunal gov website, we’ll I think you clearly know these parking fines are by a ‘private, dodgy company with a reputation of being one’ which you cannot appeal on that website as it is not performed by a council/authority and they don’t follow the same regulations and appeals process. So yes, dodgy answers to a broken dodgy system. I have already suggested receipts on keying in or some form of valid recordable proof of keying in yet in this high tech day and age they cannot supply that. Ofc they will catch a few more unwitting customers before they leave the gym too. Nice annual membership covered for a dodgy ticket or two.

Defo avoid, literally ridiculous company. Never had this issue with multiple other the gyms in all my years being a customer but the gym in Romford absolutely dodgy and money stealing.

Avoid unless you want to be ripped off and money stolen but dodgy parking process.

No doubt I will get a nonsensical reply on trustpilot and the gym cannot ‘do anything’ 👏🏽!

I have had to go to parking comittee who regulate all parking in UK and only then did parking eye have the nerve to issue a refund as clearly found the camera and verification system was faulty at times. Both parking eye and Romford the Gym have been most unhelpful. Only when escalated above them was anything able to be done correctly, money grabbing the gym working with parking eye to give fake tickets. Tut tut!

Absolute rubbish

Ever since this gym took over Fitness First Romford, the place has been going downhill. The leg press has been broken for more than a month. Various equipment is out of use. They allow children in, who gather around equipment on their phones, use wrong plate and damage the equipment. No one is there to make repairs or buy new equipment. This in turn creates more pressure on the existing equipment.

If you want a cheap, overcrowded, under funded gym with poor equipment, then look no further!

Response to review:

Since my review, you have breached your promise and closed down the gym for the past 5 days. Your gym equipment continues to remain broken. Children still come into your gym. It is an absolute joke. Just sell to another gym please so it can be managed properly.
