Thomann is the only place to buy new…

Thomann is the only place to buy new audio equipment. If you want the very best after sales service you just want to buy from this guys. I had issues with an audio interface I just bought (not going to mention which because I'm still troubleshooting the problem and don't want to give them a bad reputation) and they were kind as I've never seen before, giving me all the required attention and taking care of my problem, instead of the audio interface company, that has zero communication with their costumers. They assume a responsibility that I never saw in another seller. Since it's an online buy you want it to be reliable and they are aware of all the problems you may encounter. Their reputation is so high that they will just help you regardless of all the time it may take from them. That's what you like in a big company.

Just a positive note

Just a positive note. Never enough of those it seems. The folks I interacted with and had questions for always helped me in a timely and knowledgeable fashion. Thomann should be proud of you! Your entire ordering system is 2nd to none. I always understood where I was in the process. Even though I had to wait for an item I always knew. Now that the order is shipped details of that are concise and easy to understand. Thanks for the wonder people/ordering experience. I'll be back!

Thomann is excellent

Thomann is excellent, their customer service is 10 stars, I had an issue with the delivery that I received just minor stuff but they went out of their way to address it and were very prompt to response. I highly recommend this company to do business with and will myself continue to do business with them. Thank you Thomann for being awesome, very happy with your service.

What returns policy?

Ordered 3 very expensive pieces of equipment one of which arrived damaged and another stopped working within 2 days of use - contacted them on their website: no reply. email: no reply. And I have tried calling them and "no one from the correct department is available to take my call" For 5 days now! Seriously my advice: don't use this company, not even for picks or guitar strings.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I bought a small mixing desk (amongst other items) from them and after very limited use the item ceased working. Upon contacting customer services I was told to use the item with another power lead - even though the item's lead is highly unusual and states on the chassis that it is to only be used with the supplied lead. (It does not seem reasonable that I am expected to have a spare power supply of the type for this unit available to me)

And that was it, that was their sole and total response.They are now ignoring my communications - probably imaging that because I am in the UK that there is no remedy for me to obtain my money back.

I am currently seeking legal advice.

Perhaps if you are in Germany you may be safe to use this company, but they seem to be quite prepared to supply defective goods to customers in other locales and hide behind the difficulty of pursuing these matters across borders.

The Case of the Missing Speaker

Bought two active speakers and lots of extras from Thomann a few months ago. A box of extras and one speaker arrived. I contacted them immediately to find out where the other speaker was. They asked me to send a photo of the two boxes which I did. Why they couldn’t just check their stock room I’m not sure. I was eventually passed to another department as the person I’d originally contacted couldn’t deal with it. It all went quite for a bit then. A few days later I got a shipping note emailed to me, no other contact or apology from Thomann. Five days later the speaker arrived. I had ordered them specifically for a gig that weekend meaning I had to rent another speaker from a company 25miles away! The lack of urgency to remedy the mistake was hugely disappointing. I was going to complain directly to them but was very busy at work at the time and franky after dealing with their other departments couldn’t be bothered. Just another load of box shifters unfortunately.

Bad returns and fixing policy

Having bought a rather expensive acoustic guitar from Thomann I was pleased with their fast service, speedy delivery an reasonable price. However, the moment when things went wrong their service levels began to drop.

I had an issue with a faulty truss rod and, after the guitar was returned (free of charge, but took 8 weeks all told) and "fixed" it was returned in the original, broken condition. I was told that nothing was wrong with it, but after I sent a video detailing the issues they agreed it was not fixed but that now it is a "used guitar" I could not be given a refund!

It shows the dangers of buying abroad with mail order companies. Sadly I am too worried to use them and could not, in good conscience, recommend you do.

If your instrument has no issues they are fast and have good stock. If you need to return it then beware.
