Above and beyond

I set up the debt relief program on…

I set up the debt relief program on 7/2/2020. No welcome package, nothing. I have sent an e-mail to my "account rep" Sara Schoolcraft and cannot get a reply. My account is not even set up for me to register it. I have left Sara a voice mail today. If this is what it's going to be like, I'm sorely disappointed already.

CANNOT get out of program even if you have the money to pay your debt!!!

After reading all of these reviews, I unfortunately see that my problem is a common one. I emailed and called Timberline Financial Customer Service on multiple occasions to get a lump sum pay off amount for my account. After finally connecting with someone, I was given an amount and I subsequently authorized that amount to payoff my debts and close my account. That debit was never made from my account, so I again had to go through the process of requesting someone to contact me about my payoff amount and why it hadn't been processed. A month later I spoke with someone else in CS for OVER an hour who saw that I had requested the pay off, but it had never been processed. She assured me it would be processed this time. An email came from customer service stating my pay off amount had been scheduled for an automatic debit. This was in April. The pay off amount was deducted from my account and 3 days later my monthly payment was also deducted! It's August and they are still taking monthly payments from my account after taking my lump sum payoff out as well. This place is a SCAM.

Timberline defaulted on a settlement with a creditor and left me to deal with it.

One of my accounts had a settlement agreement of which all payments to the creditor appeared to have been made. With the final payment occurring last July 2019. In Dec 2019 I received a solicitation from a lawyer offering to help me with a recent lawsuit that had been filed against me. I immediately reached out to Timberline for help and was told it was nothing, that it was not a new lawsuit but rather was related to another account in which a lawsuit had been successfully negotiated. After many calls and emails, including to the court I was able to confirm this was indeed a new suite.

Early April Timberline finally acknowledged that this was a new lawsuit. Eventually it was determined that the last payment that Timberline made to the creditor had been returned which essentially defaulted on the terms of the original settlement agreement with the creditor. After 4 months of the creditor sending requests to Timberline with no response they filed suit. In May the legal department(who I had been communicating with as well) worked with the creditor but was unable to get them to honor the original agreement. They agreed to settled for a one time payment of $3000. I advised Timberline that I would not pay that. Timberline caused this. First with whatever happened that caused the payment to be returned. Then by ignoring the creditor for 4 months. Then by ignoring me for 5 months. This was not my fault.

Timberline is refusing to pay the creditor. I'm currently looking for a lawyer to 1, resolve this with the creditor and 2 transfer any remaining agreements out of Timberline's control. I have been working with Timberline for 2.5 years. At the time I signed up all 6 of my accounts were in good standing. I contacted them knowing my situation was about to get very bad. Over that time I feel like Timberline did not honor their agreement with me. They ignored me. The promised to call but never did. To this day they have never returned a call. Emails have gone unanswered. I have made 23 separate calls to Timberline and another 10 to their legal group regarding this lawsuit. The court date is 2 months away and I'm left to deal with it on my own. I don't have $3000, if I did I wouldn't need Timberline.

In short, Timberline didn't honor it's agreement with me nor with my creditor. They have caused a much bigger problem with their negligence and are refusing to resolve it.

Reduce your debt quickly!!!!!!!!!

I have been using timberline for 4 years to reduce my debt of 70,000 +. It was a great way to reduce my debt which I would never have done on my own. The process was handle all over the telephone with me reducing my debt for about 1/2 what I was paying with interest being added to my debt each month from the credit card companies. 100% satisfied with their service . Would highly recommend Timberline to anyone having a problem reducing their debt.

Not worth it at all.

This looks like a good option but it really isnt. With all of their fees and miscellaneous charges you will end up paying more than what you originally owed. Work with your credit cards individually this is a mess. Even once I paid off my account they kept withdrawing money each month and it was a big hassle.

Leave this page and never think about timberline again

The manager Melanie is the worst kind of person in the world. She is a snake and liar. She does not car about the customer at all. We were trying to pay our payment to turn the car on. She said she ran it and it declined (huge lie). What she was doing is stalling for time so the guys could finish repoing the car. There is a special place in Dante's inferno for her.

Updates...Trying to complete program.

This is an update on the process to complete this program. After receiving the Statement to Complete, I setup for the final draft to occur (5/13/2020). I was advised that once the draft has posted, it would take a few business days to send the payment to the creditor and close out the program with nothing else additional required. I called 5/26/2020, to check status and was advised that the draft had been deposited into my GCS account but a voice recording was required to allow Timberline/GCS to send a one-time lump sum payment to the creditor. This was not advised during the many phone calls with CS or the manager, Megan. If it had been that could've been taken care of when I setup the draft, especially since this is reason for me calling for a final statement and requesting the balance be drafted! Today, the rep advised that the account payment is overdue and that he was going to send a request to the payments management team (escalated) so that the final payment could be forwarded to the creditor. This was supposed to be done last week when I called.

Each time I contact CS, the rep does not know what is going on with my account until I correct them and they finally "see." How do you have a CS department answering customer calls and they don't have the most current updates to the accounts?

Hesitant at first, so glad I did this!!!!

I was somewhat hesitant at first to sign up. Mostly because the “sales” guy was extremely obnoxious and aggressive and would call me MULTIPLE times a day. The minute I did sign up, and had questions, he disappeared. I wondered at that point if I had made a good decision. But I’m so glad I did. Every single thing they have said they were going to do - they have done. They have been so great to work with in settling all my debt. Since starting this program 2.5 years ago I’ve seen my score go up well over 100+ points. As they settle accounts, they change on my credit report. I no longer worry about answering my phone from unknown numbers. I have a lot more peace of mind knowing that this is all being taken care of. Every single person I’ve dealt with in customer care has been professional courteous and responsive. I couldn’t be happier. I recommend them to anyone who’s struggling with an overload of debt. Great job guys keep up the good work.

I wish there is a rating less than 1…

I wish there is a rating less than 1 star, I have been with them for 3 years,the ACH payment monthly for 3 years, never hear any updates or response to any of my concerns, I decided to do an audit On the payment & follwed the contract terms for the commission & other administrative fees also counted a full amount of the creditors settlement, I found out that they should have paid the creditors in full as of April 2020 & Timberline owes us $206, now I shared all this & reviewed with Megan the supervisor she was suppose to get back to me today after a week waiting, she didn’t I called 4 times after I get hung up on & finally she came & said” Elizebeth the accounting specialist is out until Tuesday & she has no answer for me & hang up, I wish I had see their reviews when their rep tried reaching out to me back in 2017.
But I had done one last trail & asked for manager Gerard to call me , at the meantime I am exploring all other option can be taken against them to get my right & get them resolve this

Horrible Service.....

I've made 4 different phone calls asking for assistance In services and how Timberline can assist me in my financial goals. NOT one phone call back. Every time, I'm told that someone will reach out to me and they are sorry for the issues. Also, when you call in they don't have an option for new customers.

I was very skeptical when seeking…

I was very skeptical when seeking assistance with managing my debt. But I have been enrolled in this program for about 1 1/2 years and it was one of the best decisions that I could have made. I was drowning in debt, just making minimum payments and the interest just kept accumulating. Timberline thoroughly explained the program and next steps and did exactly what they promised. The professional service and responsiveness has been exceptional and I am on my way back to building up my credit. I highly recommend Timberline for anyone struggling with debt.
