Have made complaint to TPS before and told them not to call - doesn't stop them.
I thought withholding a number when cold calling was illegal.
If they ignore the law on cold calling, what respect will they have for consumer law when things go wrong?

Just had a withheld number call from True Telecom. Salesman offered a great deal (huge savings over BT), with a 14 day cool-off. The usual sales routine was leading me to verbally accepting the offer - however, when I asked for it in email so as to share with business partners and to then get back to him, he said it wasn't possible for what seemed unlikely reasons and became defensive/pushy (needing to close-out the deal, probably).
I then declined and ended the conversation.
Left feeling that an unwitting 'yes' could have led to a verbal singing-up with the onus upon me to then reject in the cool-off period if not happy.
Just be wary.

I was cold-called by this lot yesterday, despite being on the TPS, which is illegal. In my experience you shouldn't trust criminal enterprises like this - I've had a lot of badness from cold-calling telecoms companies.

Had an account with True Telecom, our account was sold to Chessbroadand ict, upgraded to fibre from a sales call from Chess, WHAT A MISTAKE! Our broadband slowed down to 2 mbps, Contacted Chess, yes your broadband is slow we will check, there's a fault at exchange, after many given dates where problem will be resolved, we still have slow internet, this has been going on for three weeks with no end in site.They are still charging us for fibre.If you like sitting on the telephone listening to holding music, being charged for what you are not going to get, arranging a phone call back, then not doing so, this is the company to go with.

I have had excellent help from your engineers re my broad band which has been very intermittant since I left BT, sometimes so weak that I cannot get on line.
My question is, I have been with True Telecom since July, today I recieved a bill from Chess, I didn't agree to be sold to Chess and I am loth to pay anything which will confirm that I accept this take over. I have done some research and find that Chess do not have a very good record of customer service and I'm desperate to be able to have a higher than between 0.93 and 2.79 download speed and 0.25 and 0.32 upload speed which I tested last Wednesday night! Can I cancel this contract?

Truetelecom contacted me saying they could offer me the same deal as plusnet but for less. However I'm in a rural situation and unfortunately they didn't check if they could also move my broadband. After 5 months of long conversations with Truetelecom each time I got one of their bills for my phone line/calls, and simultaneously received a plusnet bill for my broadband, I have asked Plusnet to transfer me back. At least Truetelecom have been willing to refund me the extra cost of being spread across two providers - for which I'm very grateful.

Technical issues with my telephone line (broadband, card payment machine), called True Telecom Tech Support spoke to a very efficient lady. Open Reach turned up and resolved the problem (street problem) under 4 hours. Michael from TT then called to let me know all had been resolved.
All in all good experience, efficient and quick resolution so round of applause to all involved, thank you.

A bit more trouble with broadband, this time due to the Wi-Fi extender. Again Mike James was very patient diagnosing and sorting the problem, and now my speed has been doubled from 2.8 to over 6. Hopefully it will now stay at the new speed. Thanks very much Mike!

Michael James was absolutely outstanding in both all the advice, patience and professional knowledge he obviously has. I didn't have to wait long for his phone call to sort my broadband issue out. He also hung up to check stuff and promised to call back within 10 mins. This he did at the 7 min point. Very pleased to say the least so thanks.

I have a three year contract with TrueTelecom with 1 year to go. They have recently passed on my account to ChessICT. Does this mean my contract can be terminated without incurring a fee? I have no particular need to move but would like to know where I stand. Can TT answer this for me please.

My experience today was excellent. A very understanding young man. No questions asked as he could se the problem straight away on his screen. He has promised me to raise a credit on my next account. I am sure he will.
Last month was a different matter when I spoke to a young girl as my first bill was more than twice what I was expecting . She just couldn't seem to understand what I was saying.

My experience with True Telecom has been exemplary. I get a better service at half the price of BT. On all occasions all members of the customer support team have been very helpful. My original broad band transfer date was delayed by 1 day because Open-reach put me to the back of the que, TT investigated and kept me informed when i asked. Very happy customer so far.
