Avoid Westside Auto at all costs…

I would not recommend Westside Auto Wholesale based on my experience.

I purchased a beautiful looking 2023 Hyundai Palisade Highlander, however the vehicle had drivetrain and safety system issues from day one driving it home from the dealership. Safety systems would shut down while driving and then reset themselves. The vehicle was returned multiple times for repairs, diagnostics and recalibrations, yet the issues continued.

What made the experience worse was the lack of customer service and accountability. Instead of resolving the matter professionally, the owner repeatedly spoke about how long he had been in business and how much money the dealership turns over each month.

I purchased this vehicle only 4 months ago and have physically had it in my possession for around 9 days due to ongoing issues and repairs. I am now having to go through the Magistrates Court process to try and recover my money.

Overall, the entire process has been stressful, frustrating and handled very poorly.

I recently purchased a car from Westside auto

I recently purchased a car from Westside Auto and unfortunately the entire experience left me very disappointed.

From the beginning, the sales process felt extremely pushy. The salesperson repeatedly tried to sell additional products using fear-based tactics, making it uncomfortable rather than helpful. We were constantly pressured to buy extra warranties and insurance that we clearly stated we did not want. Even after saying no several times, other staff members continued trying of to sell additional coverage.

We were told the car was in very good condition with no issues. However, the day after taking ownership the car started making loud clicking noises. This immediately made us question the accuracy of what we had been told.

Another example concerns the tires. The salesperson insisted they were almost new and far better than what the law requires. When we later had the car checked during a precautionary service, we discovered the tires only had 4 mm of tread left, while the legal minimum is 3 mm. We had specifically raised concerns about the tires during the purchase and were assured they were in excellent condition, which turned out to be misleading.

We were also told the brakes were in good condition, but during inspection we were informed they would need replacing within about six months.

The sales process itself took 4–5 hours, which was already frustrating. When it came time to pay the deposit, another employee again attempted to sell us additional insurance. After I spoke with the manager about the constant upselling, he apologized and said we would move forward quickly. However, even after we had paid, the employee again suggested that I look at a flyer about the same insurance “when I had more time”.

Collection of the car was also poorly handled. We arrived at 8 AM to pick it up, but the dealership had not finished their paperwork and we had not even seen the contract yet. When we carefully reviewed it, we found several pieces of information that had not been disclosed to us earlier. What should have been a simple pickup ended up taking two hours because they were not prepared.

On top of that, the windshield washer system and wipers were not working and had to be replaced. Due to the lack of trust after everything that happened, we ended up taking the car in for service 7,000 km earlier than planned just to be safe.

In the weeks following the purchase, we also received multiple messages again promoting insurance offers, even though we had already declined several times.

We tried to email them, but didn’t got any response.

Overall, the experience was seriously unacceptable. The constant pressure selling, misleading information about the car’s condition, and the issues we encountered immediately after purchase made the entire process extremely frustrating and disappointing. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend buying a car from here at all.
