This resort has the worst logic out of…

This resort has the worst logic out of all. The trains that go there are delayed and require 1-2 transfers which are 3-5 minutes to get to other train WITH ski equipment, not a single piece of staff and bad understandable signs how to get to the other train. Horrible experience getting there.
From main village it takes MINIMUM an hour to get to the ski slope (Paradise, Gornegrat)
Bad connection system in between of zones for ski slopes, it’ll take you 5 minutes to go down to the chairlift and 20-30 minutes to go back up
A really, really bad ski park for such a popular resort. Maximum 3 jumps and 5 rails. To get to the park you need to go down half of the slope first and then go down again after, and the chairlift to the slope takes 30 minutes. So to do 2-3 runs in the park you gotta waste 1.5 hours or more. Terrible experience

So much beginners on all slopes, many old people too, only 5-10% of people know how to ride well.

My statement: Zermatt IS NOT worth money that it asks for AT ALL. There are a lot of better options to go to.

javipa2014 Madrid, España 3111 Zermatt's Greedy Policy Exposed: Don't Fall Victim to This Scam

With the pretext of environmental protection, the Council implements a revenue-generating policy. Zermatt, a car-free village, prohibits the entry of private vehicles. However, a small and inconspicuous traffic signal at the entrance often goes unnoticed by most tourists who rely on GPS directions, which fail to mention this restriction. Consequently, unwittingly crossing this signal is quite common.

Shortly after entry, locals may attempt to redirect you, but encounters with undercover policemen, who are often inebriated and holding alcoholic beverages, are not uncommon. These individuals, revealing their badges, promptly summon police backup, resulting in encounters with brusque officers who impose hefty fines of 1200CHF.

This appears to be a predetermined tactic to generate revenue. In my view, if the objective is to prevent vehicle entry, clearer signage or stationed officials at the entrance would be more effective measures. However, such measures wouldn't yield the easy income from unsuspecting tourists.

Regrettably, my experience has left me with no desire to revisit this otherwise beautiful location, and I urge others to reconsider. It seems that the authorities prioritize monetary gains over welcoming visitors to enjoy the destination. Truly disappointing.
