ZF trade in UK as Brake Engineering

ZF trade in UK as Brake Engineering. I used to have an account with them years ago. I tried to buy from them again and was refused to deal direct and was pointed in direction of local stockists who were as much use as *!*! the second one ''Bennetts'' lying to Brake Engineering. I suggest they all get their act together - rather very short sighted business philosophy from a company which has lost some £500,000 over last 2 financial years.

Disappointing Sachs/ZF Flywheel – Real-World Fault Ignored Despite “Within Tolerance” Report

I purchased a new Sachs/ZF flywheel to replace my original dual mass flywheel (DMF), and unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing.

After installation, I noticed a squeaking noise during operation that disappeared when I reinstalled my original 200,000 km flywheel. Even more frustrating, the old one showed less rotational play than the new Sachs unit — despite its mileage.

I returned the part to ZF for testing, but they claimed no internal defect was found and that everything was “within tolerance.” However, real-world symptoms — noise under load, sloppy movement, and clear behavioral differences — were dismissed.

I expected better quality control from a major manufacturer. I’ve lost both time and money trying to resolve this issue. If you're buying a Sachs flywheel, test thoroughly before trusting it, and don’t assume that factory testing will validate real-world problems.
