there customer service is the worst.If you have a problem, there are like the tutors are independent contractors, deal with them

My daughter started lessons with a piano teacher. At first she seemed incredibly nice then suddenly she wasn't so nice! I realize that part of it was my fault because I simply didn't know how short nails needed to be because this was new to us. But the nasty attitude we received was ABSOLUTELY uncalled for! The lessons were done at her home and honestly she was not a very clean person but my daughter liked her so I tried to tolerate but after the nastiness and the FOURTH week of looking at the same piles of cat fur. I was honestly glad to leave it all behind!!! Oooh and her name is MARY ELLEN! What ever you do take lessons elsewhere! Ugh!

They don’t return emails or have phone number to call

This platform does not let me open an account as a Spanish tutor and even refuses to explain why.
I have been working in education and in the online tutor community for a long time and I have never had problems with platforms of this style (Preply, Classgap, Italkie, Varsitytutors ...)
I honestly feel excluded, without even a coherent explanation, this type of situation tarnishes the credibility and work ethic of our online community, and as a member of this community I will do everything in my power to together with my co-workers. and students bring to light this type of exclusive actions of your platform.
I found out later from co-workers who were on that platform that Wyzant has had tax problems and exploits its workers. So I have to thank you for not accepting me ...

Wyzant tutors such as Dana M attempt to complete fraudulent billing practices. They ask you for your credit card before the first tutoring session and then their tutors complete fraud by charging your card for work they never did. I was told by Dana M that I would not be charged for tutoring sessions that were canceled 24 hours in advance. I no longer needed tutoring sessions so I canceled my sessions in ample time not expecting to get charged. I contacted Wyzant directly to make them aware that I canceled the sessions and that I did not expect to receive a charge on my credit card. A representative from Wyzant explained that I will not be charged for canceled tutoring session because I canceled 24 hours in advance. She assured me I would not get billed. I just received a bill for a session that never happened. DONT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD THE TUTORS COMPLETE FRAUDULENT BILLING PRACTICE.

Wyzant invades your privacy by reading the personal messages that you sent to tutors.

Run! Horrible- Fraudulent Charges made on our credit card, 2 times! The Tutor Ilona M. Overcharge us for time she was NOT present and proceeded to CREATE a Bogus Appt. which we were Again Charged including a Cancellation Fee!

*WYZANT has not remedied the matter since March 2021- May 24, 2021 waste of time again with the useless “customer service”.

Additionally they hadn’t posted the promotion code which proves the tutors can commit fraud which they are condoning by not addressing or rectifying. No such GUARANTEE for proper Services-

My tutor is great, and whenever I need help we can meet the same day. It's always been a great experience.

Do not ask for Meg for chemistry help! She is only focused on her agenda and is not here to help your child! Save your time!

Asked for help with a PRACTICE quiz because I have test anxiety and the tutor was unwilling to help and said he could only “review the concepts” which is ridiculous. Then they proceeded to deactivate my account. Don’t use them use Varsity Tutors instead!!!

I have tried for months to figure out how to connect with potential students. To no avail. This is the worst platform for your tutoring business. Buyer beware. It is hard to use. It is hard to message a potential student. It really sucks.

Terrible Customer Service. Paid for multiple lessons with different tutors. Several didn't show up on time. We tried to get a refund through Wyzant and got no response from them at all. I would recommend looking elsewhere for more reliable companies.

We are very happy with the help Jade has provided for our daughter. Her grades are improving and her attitude toward Algebra has changed for the better. Thanks for the help!

Do Not Trust this site. Highly untrusty site. They will debit the account money without valid reason.
I had very bad experience with Voice teacher for the trial lesson itself.

I used this tutoring site for assistance needed for my high school student a few times. No problems. Then I received an alert that a tutoring session was completed on my profile. This was an unauthorized transaction. Not a request from us.
Seems some random tutor prepared a false session, billed me for it and Wyzant stated to contact the theif of a tutor for a refund.
Only...their site will not allow me to message him. Seems they allow tutors to commit fraud and block you.
I'm very disappointed that they allow such fraud and the victim has to resolve.
Way to go Wyzant or WyzAINT it.
Use another site. Don't put yourself at risk here.

They do not care about their tutors and will delete your profile whenever they see fit, without reason or cause. I had a 5 star rating that I acquired after 3 years of tutoring on their site- and one day they just decided to delete it. It is an unreliable source of income, and when you receive income- they take a huge percentage of it- more than any other tutoring site (heytutor, tutors.com). Their customer representatives, Nichole and Darrien, were useless and unhelpful. There are many other better tutoring sites that are more respectful for their tutors and way more reliable!

The App is easy to use and I find my messages with ease from my tutor. I am very happy with Wyzant. Wish that I could have found it sooner, especially during the Summer months. My tutor is patient, and doesn’t rush me, we go over each step until I feel comfortable. I am sharing this site with anyone that will listen to me. Thanks Wyzant!
