Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 102 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the products to be clunky, with issues such as watches being too large for children's wrists or screens breaking easily. The user experience was often described as difficult and not intuitive, with problems activating SIM cards, setting up devices, and inconsistent functionality like calls not connecting or messages not going through. The most significant frustration for many was the customer service, which was frequently reported as non-existent, unresponsive, and impossible to contact by phone. Some people were satisfied with the watch itself, noting that it performed its intended functions and was a good concept. A few other people also felt that once the product was set up, it worked brilliantly, and appreciated features like parental controls and tracking capabilities.

If I could give zero I would

If I could give zero I would. Watch doesn’t work. Shows child in a completely different part of the country on two occasions. Doesn’t refresh easily. But what is worse is the customers service. There is none. You cannot speak to anyone. You have to talk to a bot to get a reply from a ‘human’ colleague- and you do what they say- still doesn’t work- and you wait for another reply and that takes a week- but even the there is no conversation, just a list of things to do to avoid a return. All the while your child is going to school and there is no way of knowing if he’s there without calling.
I had to raise 3 tickets to get a response.i am waiting again for a reply- it has been 4 days. Its really just not good enough.
I have to buy an Apple SE- not bad option if you’re looking.
The watch is going back. Do not buy from this company. It’s not worth the hassle of the safety of your kids. Good luck.

Great buy!

We got this for my daughter as she is always wanting to play with my Apple Watch and thought it was great to see a kids version. She has been having so much fun with it, it’s easy to use and she’s loving that it’s pink too!

Greatest Smart Watch We've Owned

What a fantastic item.
This is our second watch from Xplora and improvements have definitely been made.
My daughters watch battery lasts a good 2-4 days.
I can track her as she walks from school to my work and can call her if needed. The line is nice and clear.
We absolutely love the "school mode" feature. We set the school times and in the hours she is at school the watch is just that ... a watch. At 3.10pm when school finishes, her watch "unlocks" all the other features.
She gets independence and I get peace of mind.

our third product!

We now have three products from Xplora and have found each to have their own pros and cons. We've now had this one for a number of months.
The Kidzi has been a great piece of 'between' tech for us with our 10 year old as she grows and we work on her independence ahead of going to secondary school next academic year. We've also found the Xplora team to be extremely helpful providing great customer service and advice we could believe in.
Our 10 year olds review is:
"Stylish, big enough not to forget it and comfortable. its great that i can keep in touch with people who are important to me. my auntie even has the app! the messaging has always been limited but i love sending voice notes"
and from us as parents:
"this piece of tech gives daughter, 10, the independence she craves in equal measure with the supervision she still needs. being able to see where she is when she is out of eyeline (further up the street) means we know how to find her and she knows we can see this so doesn't venture out of bounds.
the most useful feature for us by far is the messaging, she knows we will be reachable as long as she has signal and can play without fear but we can still call her in without having to leave the house if her brother is asleep or if we are in the middle of another task."
We know the days without a phone are most likely numbered however this is a great piece of tech for bridging that gap and teaching her the responsibility and safety tips she needs as she grows in the world. we look forward to keeping our favourite watch to pass on to her younger brother in time (as long as the app is available!)

Disappointed (and how to cancel your monthly payment)

Disappointing. Bought this for my daughter aged 8 to make her feel better not having a phone when her big sister and parents do.

As a user she finds it too big and cumbersome. Less than 24hr battery life. Confusing user interface. Very limited in what it can do.

As parent, it was a massive challenge to set it up. Then find a hidden monthly fee for the sim. Constantly having to remind our daughter to charge it if she wants to use it. Quite expensive for what it is. Honestly should have got her a basic Apple Watch or her own iPad.

How to stop your payments - and for those trying to figure out how to cancel the payment you have to call your bank and ask them to put a stop on the Xplora “continuous authorisation”. This is a disgrace as it is set up as “recurring one off” payment. Makes no sense I know - but a loop hole to avoid a Direct Debit that’s easier to cancel.

Order not delivered

Order not delivered, weeks after promised delivery date. Zero response to interactions. 'Zendesk' app to answer questions is useless and 'talk to agent' feature does not work (one suspects intentionally). No response to 'send a query' on website. No response to any email. They have my money, I have no product, a disappointed child and no communication.

Fun for children and peace of mind for parents

My daughter is 7 years, and is interested in my phone saying she would like her own phone. I really didn't want her to have a phone yet and feel she is too young. However I came across this and felt this was a good compromise. I love that there is a school setting where all the additional features such as making calls and sending messages can be turned off and my daughter can just use the watch as a clock. This makes it easy for me as she can just use one watch all the time. She absolutely loved being able to call me on her watch and I loved that I could check who she had called and messaged on the app that you download. I had some issues with the the first watch that was sent to me, however was able to contact customer services who quickly rectified the issue and send me a brand new watch out. The GPS feature is also nice but she is with me or others in the family all the time at the moment anyway, however will be great feature for older children who are starting to go out with their mates and without an adult. My daughter also loved the stop watch feature and timed herself doing a loop running round the house. Charging the watch is very easy, and the battery lasts all day it it's being used appropriately. Overall I'm really impressed and a hundred percent made the right decision in not getting a phone at the age of 7 for my daughter and actually feel this might help to delay purchasing a phone for her for even longer now. Great idea!!

We love our Xplora watch

We love our Xplora watch! My daughter loves the fact it’s pink and she has a similar watch to mummy’s. It’s been great for starting to learn her to tell the time and she loves all the features on it. It’s easy to set up and so cool!

Customer service not contactable

Customer service not contactable - avoid!
Like other users we have had no contact from customer services for over a week: the battery life is poor on the watch (less than 12 hours when it should be lasting 24 hours) and after submitting a wealth of information including order number (bought direct from xplora) I have still had no reply.
The watch otherwise is useful with GPS tracking and calling. If they could fix or replace the battery it would be absolutely fine.

Poor Customer Service

Unfortunately I have no other option than to give a 1 star review. The product itself is good, when working, but when something is wrong your customer service falls so short of the mark it’s terrifying.
After 4 months of back and forth emails (which if you don’t respond to quickly they close the query and you have to start all over again) I finally got sent my replacement watch but had already had to submit another form saying we had forgotten to take the SIM card out of the original watch but have had zero response. So we are now 6 months down the line, my daughter has had 2 months (Jan and Feb) of a working watch and now has a watch which can’t be used as we have no SIM and all the time they’ve been taking £10.99 out my account for a service I have no way of using. It’s preposterous. Someone please help me out 🙏

Great smart watch that gives me peace of mind!

Great smart watch that gives me peace of mind. My daughter has started walking the short distance to her friends house and this watch has eased my concerns, I can see where she is, if she leaves the safe zone, message and call her. The best thing I've given my daughter, she gets her freedom and I reduce my mum worry. It's a win win!

Great kids smart watch

We had been looking for a smart watch for my son and the Xplora X6 play ticked all boxes. The watch is easy to set up with different connect tariffs available to choose from. We love all the different features which are all easy to use.

Do not buy this watch

Do not buy this watch. Appalling support services and has been a nightmare since I bought 3 watches. All they do is send invoices and you can do nothing about it. As an update, been trying to speak to someone about the issues I have been having and all they did was make a demand that I pay my outstanding balance - all their support team does is ask for money with zero support. Whole thing has been a nightmare.

Great watch! Full of cool features

What a great watch!
I bought this for my daughter (age 9).
She loves it. The watch looks great and also has some great features.
We used the tracker whilst she walked to shop, it was clear and updated in live time really well.
I’ve got to say I was really impressed with this feature and it is giving us the confidence as parents to allow more independence to my children whilst wearing it.
Would recommend!

Customer service not responding

Customer service not responding. Their website page to contact humans is broken. They have removed details from Contact Us page. They have auto replied on their email address to say the email is closed. They have not responded to webform request via their app. They have not responded to instagram or facebook messages. They do not want to engage with their customers which might mean this company is in major trouble and you should likely avoid them.
