Thye took out more money than they specified, couldn't claim it back. No-one called for or viewed my car. They answer the customer service telephone when they feel like it. Once you've paid your fee, and try to claim a refund following a 'no-sale within 7 days' they totally change their tune and they initial 'friendly' sales person becomes a rude monster!

Once upon a time (Day Zero), I have advertised my car for sale as a used car on a popular and free advertising website in UK. Suddenly on Day +1, I received a call from a girl that claimed she works for Car Data (I cannot really remember her name but I think it sound like Lisa) told me that there is a buyer really interested and want to see and buy my car on Day +2. But in order for the buyer able to buy my car through them, I need to register my car with them also by paying GBP 79.99 upfront first. The reason I need to register with them because the buyer is using their loan to buy my car. Based on that promise, I have agreed to register and pay the amount of GBP 79.99 by providing my credit card details during that teleconference to her. Unfortunately on Day +2, nobody call me or come to see my car. On Day +3, I realized that I have been totally lied by that sale representative from Car Data. I directly canceled my credit card on the same day but unfortunately the transaction already gone through. After that I have wrote several emails to their customer service to request for a full refund but they still refuse to do that because based on their T&C once my car have been registered and listed on their website there will be no more refund and they also claimed that my car details have been emailed to several potential buyers. They claimed it is up to those buyers whether they want to call and see me or not. I really upset because the main thing that I have agreed to paid them in the first place is to let the stated buyer come, see and buy my car on Day +2 as promised and guaranteed by their sale representative, not just to list my car on their ‘low ranking’ website only and wait until the end of world waiting genuine buyer to visit my listing. Hopefully this Lisa or any other sale representative from the Car Data won’t doing this kind of lying or missleading promises to any other innocent people in UK anymore!

Well i hate to say that i have been cond as well. I never came across this company till i put an ad on autotrader. Basically is all the same as all other people here. Same word and same promises. I did call them to claim my money and they said NO CHANCE.
I feel very angry and just do not know what should i do.
Does anyone had his money back and if you have , how did you did it.
Please guys, i need advice where to take this matter to????
I should it really check them before hanging my money to them.

After them being on the phone constantly saying they had many buyers for my car for over a period of 3 weeks. I agreed to pay £99 for them to advertise my car, they also asked for me to send photos of the car to use on their website. Now after a month of the car being advertised i have not received any phone calls from cardata or from any of the buyers. I tried to contact Cardata and all they do after speaking two a adviser and telling him my name they hung up constantly and will not give their names. They are total con men and all they are interested in is the money, i would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

never received a call ever, in months of advertising. crooked, bullshitting liars. dont be fooled!!!!!!!.

Still Trying to get my money back. I know their call centre is in London and I shall triangulate their location and retrieve the money back myself, in person.

Got a call from these liars when i was recently selling my car, they gave the usual lines of "we've got loads of people interrested in your car, so we can get it sold straight away." After listening to their lies for a few minutes I let them take my money as I was getting a little desperate to sell my car. Low and behold after 50 calls from all other places i was advertisng i didn't get a single one from this lot. I put my £100 down as wasted money and feel cheated and scammed. Their response to my request for a refund was to offer me a free advert next time. Well that just sounds great.

Avoid this lot like the plague, their sales banter is pure lies just to get your money. I can't think of anyone that would ever use them to buy a car, they just keep going by preying on the desperate to sell by telling them what they want to hear.

Liars and cheats!

I Got a call from a canvaser after i advertised in another media the canvasser told me they would advertise my car and would have a buyer for me within a week all sounded good they told me the fees and i decided to take the 99.50 option they offered me photos too and said i could have the car on the system until sold providing i kept renewing it every 28 days which i found out when i read the receipts I'm one of these people that reads everything i get lol any ways was on there system for a week had a few calls from people that wanted to view the car. I'm looking to sell my car now from one of there buyers, I've seen the comments here and it works for some people fortunately i rang them in the first week and they evaluated my vehicle without that i think i would have been over priced i put it up for the price i bought my car oops lol

I placed my car with these guys after one of their reps called me, I sold my Focus in 4 days through this lot, I'd been in Autotrader for a month and got nothing but dodgy scams trying to get me to ship my car abroad.

I'd recomend this company to anyone, 4 months and £200 with Autotrader and not one genuine enquiry, 4 days with these guys, car sold and for cash.
