While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Donhost when they were first setup were excellent. But the owners sold out to HEG. The same guys started Heart Internet and guess what they sold Heart to HEG too.
Since the take over by HEG Donhost has just gone downhill more or less from the start of their ownership.
Today support is only accessible via a ticketing system. There is no phone number and no email address. A ticket I raised two days ago has taken just a few hours short of two days to get the response "The question had been passed to the Domains Team". Eventually I did get a proper reply but TWO days is really not support, it's we'll get to you when we feel like it.
We are working to get all domains away from Donhost to other providers and raised a ticket for a domain unlock today and now 4 hours later still no response.
An email address I did get hold of didn't reply to an earlier email of today and then another I sent later got the auto-response "I am away until the 23rd April". Suspicious, I think so.
We have had hosting with Donhost for many years, initially they where great, since Pipex take over many years ago their service has decreased in quality, over the last year it's worst than ever.
Sites on their re-seller hosting have been hacked server wide. We have over 300 sites on multiple servers and every single one has been hacked several times this year alone.
It costs us thousands to fix only to find the next week they are all hacked again.
Even this month after more supposed 'fixes' all our sites have been hacked as recently as the 10th of August.
Keep away from Donhost - bad hosting environment and their inability to fix hacking over the last year is evident. We are slowly moving all our hosting to clook.
Support times are OK although there is never a good reason why something went down which I wouldn't mind if it didn't happen so often the most reasonable explanation I have ever had is 'its a resource issue' which is about as informative as sayying its broke.
Today the entire team has gone on training leaving no one to answer P1 calls which from an IT company providing 24/7 support is awful.
Their website dashboards are outdated and almost impossible to navigate.
The cost for the service is high and I see almost no value in keeping their service.
All in all your better off almost anywhere else
These were one of the best hosts in the UK - we used them for 10 years, but as soon as webfusion (aka hosteurope) bought them out support nose dived.
We no longer use them (since May 2012) and would not return.
