Takes the p*ss

Avoid at all costs.

The Carl you talk about is Carl Biddle, this is a dodgy one man band set up who avoids paying teachers. He owes me money and after promising three times to pay, I am taking a small claims against him.

I had the misfortune to work at his 'school' and he took the p@ss out of his students' English, characters and appearances. Awful man who is very dodgy.

I shall also be informing Trading Standards of his dishonest business practices.

Should be HOUNDED OUT OF BUSINESS

Irresponsible and despicable business practice.
After signing up about 3 years ago, and, (I seem to recall) paying an introductory sign up fee for a few weeks (?), I am still receiving their emails offering 'teaching work', all totally unsuitable and never followed up, and in spite of my phonecalls and emails to request that I be unsubscribed, nothing is ever done.
As other reviewers have said, there is no person accountable, - no one answers the phone, and the guy 'Carl somebody' never responds to emails. This company seems to exist to get signup fees from unsuspecting teachers, who are then bombarded for years to come with unsolicited emails.
Judging by my own experience and that of others, this company should be reported for legal action.

deceitful

I have paid for the 6 months contract. Since the time I
paid the Language House has not done anything for
this money whatsoever. I was deceived. I haven't had
a single student by them. Basically this guy just
takes your money and after that he doesn't do
anything what he promised in the contract.
Teachers BEWARE!

Avoid at all costs

I signed up as an English tutor and had no problem with the subscription side of this business. It was when I started teaching 'in-company classes' for him (I say 'him' because this company is actually just one guy) that the problems started. Six months on and I'm still waiting for the hundreds of pounds I'm owed, despite having raised a small claim against him. He has avoided all my calls and ignored my emails, and then when he does decide to get in contact it's just a bunch of lies.
Now I've started to do a bit of research online about this company and what I've found out doesn't look good. Its registered address (the one you can find at Companies House) is actually the address of a charity. Now I know why the only contact number on the Language House website is a mobile number!

Dishonest, untrustworthy and unreliable

As a language tutor I also paid my one year subscription as a Spanish tutor in Manchester area. They put me in touch with several students and I also taught in company lessons. The private students were not a problem at all because they will pay me directly, but after having followed all requirements and indications they asked with the in company lessons I am still waiting to get paid since November 2013.
Their behaviour is completely unacceptable avoiding calls and emails and not replying to any of the enquiries that me and other tutors in my area have made. They lie about when are they going to pay and it is a nightmare to get hold of them.
It seems quite clear that they couldn't care less about tutors professionalism but the fact that they get paid by companies and we keep their business going.

Dishonest practices - tutors beware!

I registered with them as a Russian tutor in Central London and paid their subscription fee. 40 days after - no inquiries at all. And no replies to my questions. However, they are still actively recruiting tutors. They also deleted my and other people's feedback on their Facebook page - very dishonest practices. Beware!

Does not follow his T&C. Dishonest business.

Their T&C: A tutor pays registration fee of 24 pounds. If this business cannot find the student for registered tutor a tutor can ask for refund.

This is not happening and they do not pick up the phone, and they do not answer to emails.

Will have to take legal action to get money back.

Edit: After writing "Letter before Action" and sending it, the company owner refunded our money last possible day.
