Product was faulty but got it replaced as soon I got in touch
I had a slight issue with 1 of their products which they were in no way obliged to help, but the customer service was incredible and they went above and beyond to help!
I do love the mac lipsticks, the ruby woo is my favorite color of lipsticks, which matches my face color very well. And the chili color of lipstick is my second love!!!
MAC Counters are blatantly sexist - anti male.
On Friday 5 October 2018 between 16:30 and 17:00 I visited the MAC concession inside the John Lewis store in Nottingham city centre.
There were two members of staff working and both were busy. My daughter caught the eye of one of the young ladies, who said that although her colleague was dealing with an appointment and would be tied up for quite some time, if I were to wait 10-15 minutes she would be available to help me. So I patiently waited my turn, about 20 minutes in total.
As I took my seat in front of a mirror and explained what I was hoping for, the assistant broke off from my consultation to answer questions from a newly arrived female customer. Then she returned to me with an apologetic rhetorical request, “would you mind waiting a moment while I serve this customer?” as she disappeared again to deal with what I thought was the newly arrived customer. But as I looked round, she was actually serving yet another freshly arrived customer.
I picked up my belongings and left the MAC concession in absolute disgust at the total disrespect I had been shown.
I had waited patiently for 20 minutes for my consultation, but because I’m a man I was automatically downgraded as not worthy of MAC’s full customer service. Not only did your employee ignore me to talk to a newly arrived female customer with no apology, she then made her excuses to keep me waiting again while she chose to serve yet another walk-in female customer.
And this harks back to my first experience of MAC at your concession in Manchester’s House of Fraser store. There I was looking for what I was asking for in Nottingham – some foundation or concealer that would minimise some pigmentation variations on my forehead and a little skin blotchiness. In Manchester, the lady just sat me down and tried out a couple of compact powders on me before selling me a compact of Studio Fix No 41. As a guy unused to this environment, and not a little embarrassed (yes, in this day & age, still embarrassed!).
The reason I had gone into the Nottingham concession (my daughter lives in Nottingham, I live in Manchester) was because I felt the Studio Fix was actually too pale as I have a darker complexion and, based on my Manchester experience, I was expecting just to be tested on the same product but a couple of shades darker. HOWEVER, both the Nottingham employee and my daughter asked if I had had a colour profile made up. Obviously I hadn’t because I didn’t know what they were talking about.
Which brings me to my complaint: do you not have an equal access policy? Or is your service prioritised for women? Not being offered the full service in Manchester and then the complete absence of professional courtesy I experienced in Nottingham was out and out sexism. If not, it has to be the most downright abominable customer service I have ever experienced in a retail setting.

I like Mac. Good quality and high end looking brand. I got one lipstick that wasn't the greatest, but everything else I got was good so far!
Very thick and does not spread on the lips evenly and give appearance of paint rather than lipstick
