Company has ceased trading but still running website and stealing your money - avoid at all costs - can’t get hold of them at all but they will happily steal from you.

Buisness has closed but website still accepting payments. No way to reach company, had to use paypal dispute! PayPal should lock this down, it's ridiculous.

This company appears not to exist and needs to take down its site. I paid £599 for a bed and have heard nothing from them. I am having to go through a lengthy boring, stressful procedure with my credit card company and meanwhile still don't have a bed. Not nice at all.

We ordered a Nevis bed in March 2020, having had a bed from Jim before and been very satisfied with both the product and his service. We paid the deposit but had minimal communication after that, despite trying phone and emails to stay in touch. When my husband visited the Riverwood unit in person in August 2020, the machinery was on pallets outside and the sign had been removed. The person he spoke to (we do not have his name, but we think it was Jim) said he was hoping to make the bed or return the deposit. We emailed asking for the deposit to be returned, but have heard nothing. Although it looks like Jim has ceased trading, his website is still advertising beds. Please avoid this company at all costs.

I ordered furniture for our self catering cottage. Date to be delivered was chosen by Jim. Got rid of our old furniture ready for arrival. - told it’s not coming. We had guests expected and Jim told us it’s our problem - (the furniture is not made from his factory by the sounds of it. )
When furniture did arrive. Mismatch of colours. Jim apologised . He Assembled some of the furniture and reassured me he would return within a week with fully matching furniture. He never did - and we also had to assemble the remaining furniture ourselves.
Jim dismissive when you do actually speak to him. Almost impossible to get hold of though. Best avoid.

Having previously bought a double bed in 2014 and being highly delighted with it we decided to purchase 2 single beds from Riverwood (this was during lockdown) I rand Riverwood and spoke to Jim who said things were slow understandably because of Covid so there should be very little problem getting both beds out before the usual expected timeframe. This timeframe went and passed none of my calls or emails were replied to and questions placed on social media page went unanswered even the phone stopped ringing and went to unanswered voicemail. With both beds being way past the time and also being £800 out of pocket I had to ask Paypal to help out and although it took quite I while Paypal repaid me my money though were unable to get any contact from Riverwood. I would definitely steer well clear of this company now unless you can afford to say goodbye to your money...

Please avoid! Jim has advised the company is no longer trading. I ordered a bed and mattress together in May and have paid in full. I've had no response from emails sent, voice messages left, a direct fb message and a public message message on their fb page. Jim finally answered my call last week saying he was sorry and that he would email me the following Thursday which he never did. Today he answered my call, advised to give it another week and if i dont receive the bed&mattress it'll be a refund. He said the bed is with the suppliers and he is working on it. He said there were few people (3) that he is trying to sort the orders for and that I am top of the list (sure!) ..I asked when the company ceased trading (to know if he was aware when I placed the order in May), he wouldn't answer and ended the call. I'm now going through PayPal and raising a dispute, hoping to get a full refund this way.

After numerous phone calls and emails, mostly which have been ignored, with 2 of the calls Jim promising to call back, and of course he didn't bother. We have now had to enter into a dispute stage with the bank with legal action now being my only route to recover the deposit. Avoid this company at all cost!!

Don't go near this company. I paid a deposit for a bed that was never delivered. I have tried to contact them on numerous occasions by email and by phoning and they will not respond. I even visited their premises but again got no response. I now have to take the legal route to get my money back.

I needed a sturdy bed at short notice and Riverwood more than delivered.
Jim was so helpful at all times.
I have had my bed now for about five months and I'm still delighted with it. I had always had divans before and never had a headboard. I didn't realise how a good looking bed just finishes the room off.
Not only is it a really good looking bed, it's comfortable (very) and sturdy (very). Also because it's made of real wood it smells great too. Get one!

Delighted with the bed we bought from Jim, which arrived in December 2019. We had specified various amendments in height, length etc and all in good order. There was a bit of a hiccup in delivery, I think probably caused by a change in courier, and comms could be better, but a minor distraction in the friendly service supplying a quality product.

Knocked down to a bad rating temporarily until my issue is resolved as Jim is unresponsive to emails. Maybe because of the covid situation?

I'm not at all angry, just giving an honest review for the public to see.

The laquer finish has come off the bed after 3 months, revealing exposed wood filler on the footboard leg, it also has what I think is white laquer runs on the side rails now exposed. Also it shows where planks of the leg were joined/glued together too looks like they are coming apart slightly. The wood grain looks very weird now with strange swirls on the side rails exposed now again due to the finish coming off. Not happy for 1 and a half grand.

I purchased a Nevis ergonomic bed from Jim at Riverwood beds.

My son is autistic and jumps on the bed alot. He has destroyed a divan base by snapping the wooden bars, so I decided to go for something more solid.

I searched on Google for oak beds and reinforced beds and Riverwood caught my eye.

I was interested in the Nevis as soon as I seen it. I couldn't afford to get it but I wanted it so much I decided to take a loan out for it over a year.

It was a good decision, the bed arrived when the courier said it would. The lads were polite and friendly.

The bed was easy to put together, however I made a silly mistake of putting 2 long slat screws into the centre spar and through it. The instructions did not mention using the 2 small screws for the centre spar. I suggested to Jim to include this info on the instructions to help future customers.

If I had of looked closer and took my time I perhaps would have figured it out, however the spar went on before the slats did and I never noticed the 2 small screws for the centre spar in the bag.

All said and done. I was impressed with the quality of the wood on the Nevis bed. The brackets seem very strong too.

Jim was always responsive and a pleasure to speak to throughout the purchasing process.

I have had two beds from riverwood and I am more than satisfied I can not fault them. It was a real pleasure to deal with such a friendly and efficient company and the instructions to assemble the beds were very easy to follow. They were also extremely at good informing me when the beds would be delivered and the delivery firm they used was excellent too.

Excellent bed, very well made and great craftsmanship. We looked at a number of super king size beds at high street retailers and none were close to the quality of this one. Jim was helpful on the phone, delivery was on schedule and the bed simple to construct.

ordered double bed online then changed my mind as I wanted a small double instead so I spoke to him on the phone and sent an email just to make sure he got it right he said it was no problem to change the size as he could give mine which he had just started to someone else I sent an email to enquire about the space between the slats, no reply as i had stupidly paid the whole of the money in one go instead of just a deposit. When I was told that my bed was ready I waited to hear when it would be delivered 2 weeks later I still had heard nothing so called them to be told that bed had been collected by courier it would have been courteous of them if they had communicated this to me . Anyway after putting the bed together Riverbed had still sent the incorrect size seems once they got your money they dont give a toss bed was nice though but I have found another site with cheaper beds and the standard of their bed seems to match riverwood beds so I think I will use them for my other two beds. Beware certain mattresses are not compatible with slatted bases that have more than 3inches space between them which is so on the base I purchased and I emailed Jim to enquire how much space there was between the slats on his beds and he chose to ignore my enquiry so check before you buy!!

After receiving and testing my last Windermere bed for couple month ordered another for the other room.
Same fantastic quality and very easy to build, received in time specified.
Take care if you add extras to bed (boxes or bedroom furniture) as seem to disappear with the delivery companies,,,,(on both bed orders)
Always sorted out with Jim but takes a few weeks

Just taken delivery today of my double braemar bed which I ordered on 30th September 2019. That’s 6.5 weeks which is acceptable to me given that I was quoted 4 to 6 weeks. The bed itself was built in about 4 weeks but if you are not local ( I live in Leeds) the bed is delivered by a Company based in the Midlands. They have to pick the bed up, take it back to their depot then arrange delivery to you.
The bed itself is of excellent quality, the workmanship is obviously of a very high standard and the assembled bed looks superb. The assembly took me about 2 hours, my only criticism was that some of the slats were warped which made the bed creak initially but I decide to secure them to the centre spar as well as the side rails using my own screws. This solved the creaking issue.
Jim was very easy to deal with throughout the process, he listens to your requirements and is happy to discuss any modification with you.
I have no hesitation recommending RIverwood Beds and would definitely use them again.

Really pleased with the service and quality from Riverwood Beds. Our bed is amazing. Really lovely, solid oak and finished beautifully. A sturdy, quality bed that will last years.

Great communication and speedy delivery considering it's a handmade bed. Beautiful quality bed and designs that are a little bit different from the many other beds available on the web.
It's a solid bed that will last for years. No creaking or squeaking and very easy to put together.
