I Love 3BTech!

Well I found 3BTech many years ago when I was looking for hard drives I think threw PriceWatch.com but any way I have shopped with 3BTech off & on now many years. I have had a few issues but all but one they worked out with me. The one they didn't was a bad CPU I got with a motherboard combo I bought from them when I lived in Las Vegas but other then that I have had no problems with them. I just don't buy motherboard combos anymore lol problem solved. 3BTech has good customer service though, and if you have questions most times they are nice enough to answer them & offer suggestions. Never had any regrets from the items I buy from them now like Power Supplies, Hard Drives, PC Cases, and accessories. If you want a great place to shop that offers free shipping on all items this is your best bet!

Buyer Beware!

I ordered Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac from this company because I wanted the software on a disk and everything on the product page suggested this was on a disk: nowhere in the product description did it say it was a key code download (finally, on my third or fourth look at the product page--and only after I had returned the product--I saw a notice in small, light blue text at the top of the page), the picture of the software box did not say "Key Code," and among the system requirements was a DVD drive (which would be needed only if the software was on a disk). It also didn't say that this was a disk, but I made that assumption from the DVD requirement. As you'll have guessed, what I received was a key code. I called and objected, and they gave me an RMA for return, but they charged a 15% restocking fee. In the meantime I bought the software (download, apparently disks are simply not available) at a different site for $25 less. Will I buy from them 3btech again? NO.

GREAT SERVICE AFTER THE SALE

I ordered a motherboard from this company several months ago due to the company making my computer breaking the new one I took them. That company also broke 3b Tech's board. After discovering the broken heatsink bracket hook I thought I'd have to order a new motherboard. I took a chance and called these guys and they sent me a new heatsink bracket at no charge. This is truly service after the sale. I'll definitely do business with them again. Five stars!!!

Very good communication and customer service

Ordered 320 GB Seagate hard drive. Shipping and delivery was quick. Drive was noisy and not working properly. Seagate diagnostic tools confirmed that drive is faulty. Emailed 3bTech on Saturday. Received response early in the morning on Monday that they will re-ship another, tested, drive. They didn't even want broken
drive back to save me on shipping costs.
Received replacement drive next Saturday. Drive works very well.
I'm impressed with their response time and customer service. I've purchased couple of hard drives from them in the past year or so and never had problem with them.
Thank you
Jan

Bad products bad service

Evidently this merchant's customer service has gone to the dogs. I ordered 2 system pull hard drives from them and both of them cashed out in less than a month. The real problem occurred when I tried to get a refund. They said that one of the drives was in fine shape (when it would'nt even allow the system to boot when the drive was installed). Their customer service was a horror, since they tried to get me to close a Paypal dispute I had filed over the matter. Fortunately I then filed a claim with Paypal. Such cheesy and poor customer service should be punished, mainly by staying away from this vendor, which I intend to do.

Will not answer request for RMA, sends broken stuff, avoid at all costs!

ORDER #3btech-696904
I had an experience of the worst kind with 3b tech. I ordered a motherboard (refurbished) at a great price. It got here in fairly good time, but that is when the trouble started. Motherboard does not work. Tried everything, and no dice. Here is where 3btech totally failed me. I wrote 3 times to 3b tech to obtain an RMA number, and guess how many times they responded. ZERO. These jerks just totally ignored all the RMA requests which come from the RMA form on their website. I'd stick with newegg or a company that actually takes care of you if there is a problem. 3btech sucks and will not do that. Now I'm out the cost of the motherboard, and have an expensive paper weight!

Bad Products - Terrible Business Policy

Wish I have seen these reviews and other site reviews before ordering. Hope all buyers factor these reviews seriously.

Very poor business practice. Products sold are mostly used or in-house refurbished. If you unfortunately received a defective item, you will be liable for return shipping cost. Slow in response as well.

Not worth on a few bucks of savings. Cost me headache and project delay. First time ordering and it's also my last. Highly recommend newegg.com or tigerdirect.com for both best price and 5 star services.

Good price - Bad products

I had bought a Socket 462 motherboard from them (About a year ago) and was sent a bad board (board wouldn't work right when installing winXP). Anyways, they sent me another board, this one sort of worked, except for that capacitors were on the verge of blowing/leaking when I got it (they were bulging), so I asked for them to test it, they said nothing was wrong with it and returned it to me). The board also had other issues, and frankly it's like 3BTech either didn't test the board, or didn't test it throughly enough, so it's now a wasted $25 investment (a small amount, but still angers me). Most of their stuff is used, even if it is advertised as NEW. I'd be concerned with that alone (false advertising).

Bad Experience

I had trouble getting in touch with someone initially to order and that should have been a red flag for me. I called back later and did talk to someone who checked no a part and part number for me to make sure it had what I wanted. 3btech sent me a different part than I ordered, and due to time constraints and the cost of shipping being close to the part itself I will not be doing business with this company ever again. When I called today they were already closed at 5pm, and it seems to me that an internet computer part company should be open till at least 8pm not bankers hours... I do not recommend anyone else does business with this company.

Attention to Detail

12/30/09 - Upgrading from my recently dead XP box. The 3b-tech PC arrived DOA on 1/7/10. Worked with tech supp to try and resolve prob. When they said to take out and inspect the CPU I said it was time to send it back for refund! They would only repair since it was a "custom built" machine. I gave them verbal and written notes about the front panel coming off during shipment and some plastic pieces I found rattling around in the case when I opened it for inspection - not good. Sent it back on 1/12/10 after waiting for them to send me an RMA. They did however pay the return shipping both ways.

1/20/10 - Got the repaired PC (motherboard?) back with the front panel still jammed out of place exactly as I had originally received it, internal boards and some memory chips were not fully seated AND with no OS loaded!!! - I had ordered Windows 7 to be installed and the HD came back formatted for XP - no OS, just formatted!

Called tech supp again and they said "just install Windows 7 - its easy"! True enough, the install was easy, BUT locating the correct drivers for all the components of the system took hours of searching and testing (of course the OEM drivers they supplied were NOT compatible with Win 7, and even crashed my system). I finally got the machine working and software loaded to my satisfaction a couple days later after much research about Win 7 compatibility issues on the web (thank goodness the network card was working!). My point being is that this should not have been needed if the install was done correctly at the original system build time.
I have purchased several PCs online before and this was by far my worst experience with a "custom-built" system. These guys need to pay a lot more closer attention to detail. I even bought another motherboard from Ebay for my XP box as a just-in-case backup!

8 months later and they still can't fix the problem

PROS:
1. Price = Good

CONS:
1. Shipping = Bad. Computer was damaged 2 of the 3 times I received it from warranty repairs
2. Customer Service = Horrible. They refuse to refund my purchase, even after multiple returns due to malfunction
3. Quality = Horrible. I purchased a custom system from them 8 months ago, it has never worked. I have returned it three times for warranty repair, it still doesn't work.

Read below, I'm not the only one having these problems. STAY AWAY! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Liars !!!

Bought a 200 gig Samsung internal hard drive. While I had the internet page in front of me as I was ordering, I asked the salesman 5 TIMES: "THIS IS A "NEW" HARD DRIVE, CORRECT?", "NOT REFURBISHED?". He assured me it was "brand new". Got the drive and it was refurbished. Written in big bold letters right on the drive. I called to complain, and of course they had nothing to do with the mishap. It was all my fault. I could have sent the drive back, but as most of you know, when you need a hard drive, you NEED a hard drive. So I installed it. It is now the first of July, 2009, and the drive just shit the bed. Of course, I was offered no replacement because it was "REFURBISHED", which is what I tried to avoid in the first place! Liars and cheats at 3B-Tech. I'll never buy from again, and would recommend everyone to STAY AWAY. If there's a God, they'll lose their shirts and go out of business. I now have to go through another saga of recovering all my lost data and reinstalling everything. Shame on you 3B-Tech!!!
