I like the service of this company because this company gives a good package.

Autoescape is acting as a broker, which means that they charge you the car rental price before you actually get the car. If the actual car rental company refuses or cannot give you a car for any reason, Autoescape will make sure to keep your money regardless.
This happened to me, and I tried calling their customer service. Their attitude was clear from the very beginning, they were rude and trying to find whatever reason to have you be the only responsible, and deny any reimbursement:
- you arrived 5 minutes late (because your flight was delayed, or because there was a big line at the rental agency or any other reason) --> that's your fault and you won't get reimbursed
- the car rental company is asking for a proof of residency or for an international driving license --> that's on you for not checking all of the renter conditions (plus, those conditions can change from a location to the other)
- payed with a debit card --> you should have checked that you needed to pay with a credit
...

I'd imagine that their business runs on customers paying Autoescape for a car rental, and customers not getting the service they paid for. That way they never have to pay the car rental company and it's free money for them

DO NOT USE AUTOESCAPE WITH A DEBIT CARD. Sadly the wedsite is not clear about that. It is not fair to customers.

We hired a car with autoescape in Portugal. We paid for the insurance with autoescape. When picking up the car we where forced to pay another insurance with the car rental company (twice the price of the car!!). The reason for that is that we booked with a debit card with autoescape, not credit card and autoescape won't allow car companies to rent cars without proprietary insurance on a debit card. We were however told this would not have been a problem if we had booked directly on the car rental company website.
We were guted to have paid 2 insurances. We called autoescape who didnt want to hear anything when we were only asking for their insurance repayment.
In the future we will not book with autoescape anymore, and book directly with the car rental company.

We booked a car on autoescape, never received any confirmation nor cancellation message from them. And 2 weeks before our vacations, autoescape informs us that our car is not booked, and that there is no available car left.
Update : they have succeeded in finding another car at the same price and fully solved our problem

Nous avons payé 500€ la location de deux voitures pour 10 jours sur Internet, à l'arrivée à l'aéroport de Bari on nous demande une empreinte bancaire pour la caution or il n'acceptent que les cartes de crédit ! (nous n'avions que des cartes de débit...)
On a bataillé pour trouver une solution ou au minima d'être remboursé... sans succès ! Ils ont fait les innocents en plus : "ah mais c'est vraiment la première fois que ça arrive !", 10 minutes plus tard un autre client était dans la même situation...
Je suis persuadé que ça fait partie de leur business, ils comptent là-dessus pour arnaquer les touristes !
Au final on a du payer 1600€ chez Europcar car il n'y avait plus de disponibilité...
Donc bon choisir Autoescape c'est risquer de quadrupler le prix de votre location !

To flee like the plague:
We paid € 500 renting two cars for 10 days on the internet, on arrival at Bari airport we are asked for a bank account for the deposit or it only accepts credit cards! (we only had debit cards ...)
We struggled to find a solution or at least to be reimbursed ... without success! They made the innocents and more: "Ah, but it's really the first time it happens!", 10 minutes later another client was in the same situation ...
I'm sure it's part of their business, they're counting on it to scam tourists!
In the end we had to pay 1600 € at Europcar because there was no availability ...
So choosing Autoescape is risking quadruple the price of your rental!

When I arrived to the rental agency, there was no car for me because my plane was late.
I did put my flight number when registering but they did not monitor it contrarily to what they claimed when I booked.
So I did pay but I had no car and they never accepted to refund me even after I filled a formal complaint.
TLDR: they stole me 160 €

autoescape gives bad informations on the renters, fooling your trust and finally get you rent a car on a bad company.
When you call them for help, they deny this, but there is no way to influence the note on the renter of their site.
Those renters have multiple procecussions in process and use tricks to force you to take insurance and gazoline and finally he rental price is far from what you are supposed to pay at the beginning…
