⭐ 1 / 5 – Broken Shopify Integration · Unprofessional Support · Serious GDPR Concerns

I’m writing this review after an extended, documented interaction with BaseLinker, regarding their Shopify integration.
Unfortunately, the experience exposed deep technical, procedural, and ethical problems that every business owner should be aware of before trusting this platform with their data.

• Broken Shopify Integration – Misleading Documentation

BaseLinker publicly claims full Shopify integration with historical order sync.
In reality:

Their system no longer supports the read_all_orders scope required to import orders older than 60 days.

Their documentation still states that it is supported – only for support later to admit:

> “We’re no longer able to enable this scope, and will remove it from the documentation.”

Despite this, the connection process still fails, producing the same “Internal error: Could not open a connection” message, showing that the backend still depends on this missing scope.

This means the advertised Shopify integration is effectively non‑functional for professional use.

• Customer Service That Ignores and Dismisses

After submitting all required credentials – including my Shopify Admin API token (shpat_...) via their secure form – I received:

No confirmation of receipt

No update on processing

No technical resolution

Instead, the tone quickly turned dismissive, with messages written in capital letters (“YOU DO NOT NEED THIS SCOPE”) and a clear lack of professionalism.
Once they realized I was a new user with a small account, the treatment shifted from helpful to indifferent – as if I were a “non‑rentable beginner.”

No escalation. No accountability. No empathy.

• Data‑Protection and GDPR Red Flags

BaseLinker now holds my sensitive API credentials, yet has failed to:

Confirm how or where these are stored

Provide assurance of deletion after case closure

Demonstrate compliance with Articles 5, 6 and 32 GDPR (lawful processing · data minimization · security of processing)

Given that BaseLinker operates across the EU and processes merchant data, this silence is unacceptable.

If no written clarification is provided, I will be formally notifying both:

LDI Nordrhein‑Westfalen (Germany) – responsible for data‑protection oversight where I reside

UODO (Poland) – as BaseLinker’s competent supervisory authority

This is not a threat – it’s a standard transparency procedure when a company refuses to confirm how submitted credentials are handled or deleted.

• Summary – A Platform That Fails Where It Matters Most

BaseLinker may look good on paper, but behind the marketing lies:

Misleading documentation

An unstable Shopify integration

A dismissive support culture

And worrying opacity about personal‑data handling

I have archived all messages, screenshots, and contradictions under internal reference PINOCODE‑BB99‑INT‑02 for procedural tracking and will continue publishing updates publicly for transparency.

Final Verdict:
This was not just a disappointing customer experience – it was a systemic failure of responsibility and ethics.
Until BaseLinker restores its technical integrity and adopts transparent communication, I strongly advise other merchants to stay cautious before sharing any sensitive business data.

Atouchbase.com took money from my account without my permission. I only logged on to purchase an item and next thing I know they have taken money without my knowledge and consent. Tried to reason with them but no joy ,

Great

BlahDVD is a fantastic shop. They are low on shipping costs and the delivery is fast, usually takes 3-4 working days to ship a package to my location in the Netherlands.
On top of that they have a very nice website and prices are good.
