Three months later, no phone, no communication

I sent my phone (actually, my boss's phone - even worse!) to brokemycell.com back in April. It's now almost July, and not only do I not have the phone, but their phone has been disconnected, and they haven't replied to my 10+ email messages. I'm appalled at the level of service, or rather the lack of, that I've received with this company, and will make it my mission to warn other unsuspecting consumers about how awful these guys are. It's reprehensible.

Be very cautious and be ready to lose your equipment.

I tried, I really did to give them every benefit of the doubt, countless deadlines and extensions before resorting to posting bad reviews everywhere and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General's office. Even now, I would be satisfied if I either received my damaged equipment back with a refund OR the repaired units as promised.

Sigh! The Details:
I researched firms to repair a 1 week old Samsung Galaxy S4 that had been dropped on the curb. I read reviews and at that time the rating of this company was pretty good. I contacted them and got a quote as well as a quote for replacing the battery in an iPhone3. We were advised delivery of repaired phones would be 5 – 6 days after receipt of the damaged phones and payment. Payment was made on August 20, 2013. Shipment of the phone was made on August 20, 2013 and received by them on August 22, 2013 (per signature)
It is now 12 weeks after the transaction and we have not been given any status update even after repeated phone calls and email requests. I got exactly 2 emails in that time. One was to ask for the order number and tracking numbers which I provided that same day. And one that said they were checking on the status. That was about 6 weeks ago. Emails go unanswered as do voicemails. We lost $330, a Samsung Galaxy S4 requiring digitizer and LCD screen replacement and an iPhone3 needing a new battery.

I don't understand how some people can have such a good experience and almost half end up with this situation. Very discouraging.

Great job.

They did a wonderful job of replacing the shattered screen on my Note 2. The only thing I would suggest is to extend the turnaround expectation. I would say 7-10 business days. If you send it back sooner you will wow the customer.

Got the job mostly done after a while, communication lacking

They said they had to fix my phone twice but in the end it came back fixed and working perfectly. They said it would take 4-5 business days but it actually took 16 business days (Oct 30 - Nov 21). The hardest part was that there was virtually no communication. I sent numerous messages, emails, and phone calls but only got one short generic response the whole time. In they end they got the job done though so I have to give them credit for living up to their word in that way.

I lowered my review to 2 stars because after a couple of days dust started to get under the glass. After a few weeks there is a fair amount of dust accumulated and it seems that it will just get worse and worse.

Scam... many fake posts

Sent my phone in 3 weeks ago today, emailed 5 times, called about 15 or so (and counting)...

I would try to call this company if you don't believe the negative posts... you will quickly learn they do not reply or answer the phone.

This is an obvious scam, filing a complaint with Attorney General and making a trip to their office (when I find it)

Save yourself the grief, go someplace else or at least try to contact these guys and see for yourself. The other positive posts are clearly fakes given the level of detail.

Did a great job on my iPhone 5

I see a lot of negative reviews here so I want to share my experience to help support these guys.
They are one of the top companies in this space, so I am sure they turn around a lot of volume every month. People who write reviews tend to be the ones that have bad experiences; I am sure they do a great job 99% of the time.
I dropped my iPhone 5 and cracked the screen about a month ago. I researched online and locally, and decided to go with Brokemycell because they seemed like they are very experienced and also are very reasonably priced. I had my phone back within two weeks, and it looks great.
Overall I am happy with their service and the quality of work and would recommend them to a friend.

A SCAM COMPANY

It has been 2 months since I sent them my phones. This company does not answer their phone and has either very limited or NO communication. They have scammed me out of my phone. Do not send your phone to this company. Read all the other one star comments.

Poor communication, horrible customer service, sloppy and unprofessional work.

I initially thought that Brokemycell would be an excellent fit for what I needed. My screen had broken on my Note 2 while traveling cross country. I could have used insurance to fix the phone for slightly more than the cost of Brokemycell, but I preferred to keep my phone as it was rooted and had a custom ROM etc. Besides, who wants a refurb? So anyway, I sent my phone off to Brokemycell and that was that. Weeks later I hadn't even received confirmation that they received my phone. After sending a few emails I finally received a reply about a week after my initial message (3 weeks after sending my phone). I was told that there was a delay in obtaining the needed parts for the repair. All in all it took just over a month to receive my phone. Here is where the fun begins...

My phone was returned to me with a massive air bubble in the middle of the screen. In addition to that you can see that the screen was not set properly as you can see the LED lights bleeding out from the corners of the phone. Also, there are small bits of dust and cardboard stuck under the screen. My camera (front facing) is covered in dust stuck under the glass.

After horrible communication and doing a piss poor repair job they expected me to return my phone to them to solve what they admitted was their sloppy work. Here is an excerpt from an email: "This is an air pocket that got in from the extreme heat. We should have kept it in the shop an additional day to cure the adhesive." ...Should have kept it in the shop for an additional day....thanks for that.

After offering to contact a local shop where I live after I refused to return my phone to them (Sorry I can't just give my phone up for another month or however long you take to fix your mistake) they dropped off the face of the earth and I've never heard from them again.

Do yourself a favor and find a local shop. You may pay more, but you will have reliable and accountable service. Brokemycell screens their reviews, so that is why you find only positive reviews on their site. I tried to post about my experience and it was not posted.

Great & Reliable Service!

I have dropped my iPhone 5 many times since I first bought it. I used to have a screen protector both front and back along with a protective case, but eventually I took off my screen protectors as they kept peeling off over time. I even decided to trade in my nice hard shell phone case for a pretty fancy and thin type of case. My iPhone had fallen down a flight of stairs, down from my computer desk at home, and even thrown several times by my two year old daughter, but never actually broke. I considered myself very lucky. Sure my iPhone 5 had a few minor cuffs and scratches on the screen, but that was much better than having a broken phone screen or broken phone for that matter.

Then one day I left my phone on the kitchen counter as I sat my two year old down next to it and made her breakfast. That was a terrible idea considering she thought it would be funny to throw my phone across the room where it hit the floor at a bad angle and shattered my iPhone screen completely from the camera down.

I was so upset and could not believe that after all those incidents this is how my iPhone was injured.

I went straight to the Internet that day to purchase a replacement phone and realized that it was too expensive! Then I searched eBay and Amazon for a replacement screen and that was expensive as well. Plus, putting the screen together on my own would be a risk I did not want to take. After some more research, I came across BrokeMyCell.com and I was glad I did.

Their easy to use website, affordable prices, and great & reliable service allowed me to get my iPhone fixed without any hassle.

The repair procedure was simple, I just purchased the service from their website, and entered in my address and phone number. I was contacted back within an hour with instructions on how to ship my iPhone 5. I waited a few business days and then I received both an e-mail and call about how my repair had been a success and three days after that my iPhone 5 was back in my hands good as new! My cuffs and scratches were no longer there and my screen was perfectly replaced. It was as if Apple had sent me a replacement and it was half the cost!

I was very pleased with their service and if a mishap such as this ever happens with any of my devices again, Broke My Cell is where I’m going to go. I learned my lesson, keep those big protective cases on your phone at all times and use screen protectors!

DO NOT SEND IN YOUR PHONE!

If i could do negative stars i would! I sent my phone in May 20. It's August 1 today. I have not received it back. Who knows if I ever will. Do not make the same mistake as me to send in your phone just to save a couple bucks. Take it in to a store where you actually know where it is!!!!!

Cheap Repair & Quality Service

Many places seem to have a hard time repairing and fixing Samsung Galaxies and at a reasonable price. I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 and I spent a long time trying to find a place that would fix my cracked screen and without breaking the bank. My screen was cracked so bad, I couldn't see anything on the phone. I checked out brokemycell.com and they only charge $99 to do the repair. I'm in NYC and all I did was input my contact info and check out, sent in my phone and had my phone back in 3 days!!! My phone looks brand new! Thanks guys! I would highly recommend brokemycell.com.

No phone, No response

My phone was received by them July 2 according to my tracking receipt and yet on their webpage my account still says "awaiting fulfillment." There is no way to talk to anyone live when you call it automatically goes to voice mail. I have left several messages as well as emailed over the last 2 weeks and have heard no response back and yet on their website it says they strive to return phone calls and emails THE SAME DAY. This statement, along with the statement that they fix phones in 4-5 days is also FALSE. It's looking like I will need to contact the Better Business Bureau in order to get my phone back.

Three Weeks - No Phone - Won't Communicate

I paid this outfit and sent them my Note 2 in mid June. Now its July 9 and I don't have my phone. They advertise 4-5 days to repair. It wouldn't be so bad except they're ignoring my email messages and they don't answer their calls. At this point I doubt I'll ever see my phone again. Terrible. /RichardH

Prompt Communication and Immediate Refund

I paid for the repair of a galaxy s4 screen and then read some of the reviews on this site. I was concerned by a few of the negative reviews and emailed the company to request a refund as I told them I was concerned by the negative reviews. They promptly refunded my money. In my dealings, this company was 100% fair, responsive, and reputable.

Excellent Service

My toddler son loves to break things and my personal belongings are not an exception especially my iPhone 5. I mean, I’ve always been impressed with the quality of my iPhone 5 and how it is scratch-free and all but nothing could have prepared me when last 3 weeks, my three year old son took my iPhone5 and threw it harshly and forcefully as if he was frustrated with it.
I was shocked to find out that the screen of my phone cracked! And not just cracked, it is severely cracked to the point of it being susceptible to screen breakage should I just try to pull off the glass. I turned black and blue knowing that my expensive phone had a brutally cracked screen. I cannot just scold my son because I know he didn’t mean it and he’s just a child and all. I got hopeless as I was contemplating on the idea of either selling the unit and buy another one which, I know, will be quite a big expense for me!
Unfortunately, I still did not have enough spare money to buy a new iPhone 5. I tried to have it fixed to our local cell phone repair shop but no one would want to accept it or that I was told I will spend big money for the repair. So, I got close to giving up and just settled to have a cracked iPhone during the whole duration while I still don’t have enough money to buy a new one.

But one of my friends introduced me to this cool website which can actually be the answer to my predicament- the BrokeMyCell.com. She told me that all I have to do is ship my unit to them together with the repair charge and expect the unit to be delivered back to me in its good and repaired condition. Actually, I did not have high expectation at first but I just agreed to sending it because what do I have got to lose anyway? My phone was severely cracked so I have no intention to keep on using it as I fear the glass will completely break.

So, I did it. I sent it to BrokeMyCell.com and I was a bit impressed of their customer service as they are very accessible in communicating with me with regards to the status of the repair of my unit. Later, I began to realize that I actually did the right choice. With just several days after, I received my iPhone 5 like it was brand new!!! No cracks! I even took time to scrutinize it and that I have found out that the LCD screen was durable and even looks original—like it had not gone for repair.

I highly recommend BrokeMyCell to all users with damaged screen on their cell phones. Indeed, their service is AMAZING! Not only is their service very exceptional but they have reasonable rates in the repair charges. You can entrust your defective unit with them and I’m positively sure

Thanks for fixing my baby... i.e. my phone. :-)

My silly dog got so scared of the thunder that he jumped his big self into my lap. I should have been prepared because I know he’s a scaredy cat. Unfortunately I was not paying attention to him and he knocked my Samgung Galaxy S3 out of my hand. It flew across the room and landed on the hardwood floor. I was soooo angry. I was praying as I picked it up, please, please, please don’t be broken…

I know this was wishful thinking. LOL. Anywho the screen was shattered. I shipped it to brokemycell.com but didn’t really expect them to be able to do much for me. I am pleased… no elated to say that they fixed my phone and the service was quick. My phone works like new. YAAAY! I’m so excited.
