Cowboys. Deal with this lot at your own risk!
It is a pity there is no zero -star option for this bunch; one star is more than they deserve.
Where shall I start? The 0871 contact number they publish, because they are more interested in making money out of an incoming phone call than giving a decent service to the customer? The unanswered telephone (don't use the 0871 number. Their non-geo number is 0208 961 9367). Or maybe the never-manned real time chat facility? Or the non-functioning online tracking option? Or the fact that they ignore more emails than they respond to?
All irritating enough but what has prompted me to write this review is the following story...
I ordered some Brodit products, and was told there would be a delay as one or more of the items was out of stock. An email asking them which items were immediately available went unanswered. When the order did turn up, one of the items clearly was not compatible with the vehicle for which it had been ordered for. It transpires that Brodit part number codes were switched and the one I had was for an earlier model of the car, and the one for the earlier version bore the part number for an item which would fit the later model i.e. mine.
A simple enough mistake, I thought. Just a question of exchanging the item for the correct one. Except that when I emailed Mountonus asking how this might be expedited, I got a response from someone who declined to give their full name or even position within the company, saying that it would not be possible to exchange the item as it was especially ordered from Brodit for me. This operative goes by the name Sen.
An email questioning this stance went unanswered.
I have written to them again suggesting they reconsider, and also asked Brodit of Sweden for their interpretation of their distributor's behaviour. I'll report back on here if there is any progress.
In the meantime, it's got to a point of principle with me now, gone beyond the £15 or so they want to cheat me out of. So it's Facebook, Twitter, on-line forums like this and anywhere else I can tell innocent purchasers of what to expect from Mountonus in the event of a problem, and warn them that it's not like dealing with a reputable online supplier.
