Avoid

They have posted 6 thick booklets through my letterbox advertising their cruises. Absolutely no regard for the environment.

Disgraceful handling of a refund after…

Disgraceful handling of a refund after we were told our cruise would be cancelled, many phone calls and emails, taken around 18 weeks so far, still waiting for our money back despite promises of 'in 7-10 days', 'within the next 3 weeks', and so on,one of the worst customer service platforms I have ever had the misfortune to use. Are you going to pay interest on the money belonging to me you have held for all this time? Or even apologise?

Booked to go to Norway on 23rd May

Booked to go to Norway on 23rd May, on the beautiful new Iona ship. Understandable the trip had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak, what is really disappointing though is I’m still waiting for my full refund as promised, well over the allocated time that was said and keep on saying seven days. Thieves will not book again with P&O.

On our 1st P&O cruise on the Britannia…

On our 1st P&O cruise on the Britannia (their flag ship) booked a suite the accomodation is lovely just what you expect but on the gala night we were sent to the wrong restaurant and refused entry very embarrassing, then onto our restaurant and the wine waiter did not come to our table, then we waited 35 mins for our meal, the meal was very nice but when we had coffee they forgot the sugar, let’s see what day 2 brings as I could not recommend at present and we are supposed to be looked after being in a suite, a basic Cunard cruise is cheaper and the service is excellent
Will write again hopefully with a better review as it cannot get worse
We did try the self service restaurant and the food looked well presented and the omelet wa superb but not enough seats for the volume of guests, so we went and sat outside with our meal as did others

Good Cruise Line but could be better

On the plus points, customer service from the booking to the crew are generally very good.
There are only 2 main issues in my opinion.
1/ Suite passengers (who pay considerably more) do not receive the same level of luxury as most other cruise lines. i.e. no dedicated restaurants/deck areas.
2/ Though travelling from/to Southampton sounds appealing, be aware that this no-flying option is also very attractive to the elderly and less mobile passengers which increases the average age from 10 or even 20 years.
This is fine as long as you don't mind, constant moaning about trivial matters, a library type silence after 11pm and the faint aroma of dettol in the elevators.
Therefore I would advise Fly/Cruises with P&O are the better option. The more long distance from the UK the better.

TERRIBLE WEBSITE AND PHONE SERVIC

We are longstanding PO cruises customers and find that booking direct has become a nightmare. We are kept on the premium line listening to stupid music, last time for over 21 mins before sales answered.
This is no way to run a business. The website is as slow as it could be, and takes ages to load. Standards on board have gone shoddy and little things have been done away with, all adding up to a lot of things.
The prices of the holidays have increased dramatically at a time when oil is a low, this means they should be cheaper. They should not sit in their ivory towers thinking the company is bullet proof, it is not and the customers can keep it going or sink it, pay attention to the client, they know best.

select fares

We have been on many cruises with p and o and always took the chance with saver fares and have to say we have had no complaints, however for a xmas cruise this year we decided to pay select fare so we could guarantee our dining option and choose our cabin. On looking at there web site last week much to our surprise the select fare had dropped by £100 each,we were under the impression that this fare never fluctuates so contacted p and o only to be told that because the cruise wasn't popular this can happen and that we would be considered for an upgrade, but we would't want one as that was the whole point of paying the full fare we could choose what we wanted.I have have asked for a managers name to contact but as yet I am still waiting for a response. We will certainly think twice again before booking with p and o if that is how they are going to treat loyal customers.update as of today 10th September p and o will not give a name to write to you ,have to call their call centre at a premium rate call price.I,t makes you wonder if lower management are trying to keep higher management happy concealing complaints?its as if the computer says no.

5 Star old peoples home.

Just got back from my first cruise, two weeks on P & O's Ventura.
Marvellous service, food and accomodation but I felt I was trapped in an a luxurious old peoples home.Whilst I am not in the first flush of youth I do not want to spend my days with the elderly, who constantly moan, brag about the cruises they have been on , and constantly discuss their health issues. They also do not think rules apply to them and are down right ill mannered.
These people think because they visit one port in one country for a few hours eg Funchal in Madeira they boast of how many countries they have been to.
Entertainment is a cross between a working mens club and a holiday camp
Highly unlikely to go on another cruise.

Top Class

Couldn't fault this company one bit. They're always really helpful when booking, and continue the best customer service up to the end of the cruise. Going on our 4th cruise at the end of this year so i guess that speaks for itself.

no customer loyalty

we have had to cancel a cruise in sept and P&O would not let us deffer it to another as it was a cruise which we had moved when we lost my wifes mother,i understand that they say you can only move once but i know from their staff that they have done this before, they dont seem to look to see if the customer is a good one or not,we only started cruising a few years ago but we have had 6 cruises and 5 of them in suites and also taken our kids in there own mini suite last time so we have spent a few quid with them but it doesn't seem to matter with P&O as they dont seem to look at individual cases.
