Do not send your watch for a repair…
Do not send your watch for a repair through Skagen/fossil !!!
I had the unfortunate experience of sending my Skagen watch to fossil as the clasp had broken. The estimated total was £20, however I received a quote from them after sending it off for £93 which included replacing the analogue movement and a number of other things I did not need. I unselected these items and went to pay, but to my horror I got a receipt for the full £93! I immediately sent an email stating I only wanted the clasp replacement and I received an email reasurring me I would be refunded for the other items. I kept in touch over the next few weeks as I couldn't afford to spend £100 on a watch which was only worth £150 a few years ago! I was continually told not to worry and that even if it took a long time I would get my money back and it would be sorted out. I then received an email stating they could not give me a refund as their repair centre didn't agree I should be refunded !! I was then returned my watch apparently all fixed. I actually received my watch in a worse state than I had sent it off. It would consistently lose an hour over the course of the day and the hands weren't set properly so it was impossible to tell what time it was. After telling fossil this, the only solution they came up with was for me to go to the trouble of returning my watch to them so they can investigate a problem which they created. The mechanism in the watch worked perfectly well beforehand.
I have now been left with a completely broken watch after having paid nearly £100 for absolutely nothing.
Absolutely appalling service!!!!!!!
