I wish I had read this before spending the money
Some people might think that we are lucky as we received the goods, delivered by two wide boys in a hired van. Problem is our plumber will not touch the goods with a bargepole, as they do not conform to British Standards, have a questionable guarantee as the manufacturers appear to be in China and raise certain safety questions.
We asked SPWEC for a refund within 7 days of paying them £1850,a special discount price to relaunch business after Christmas. Of course they have never replied to this or subsequent e-mails and all their phones lines have gone dead.
We have reported this to Rochdale Trading Standards but so far no feedback.

A bunch of conmen to be avoided at all costs
SPWEC took our deposit of £500 then failed to show up. When we were eventually successful in getting through to them by phone/email we were made further promises. We were told our refund had been posted to us. It never arrived. We are now in the process of taking SPWEC to court via an online service 'Money Claim Online'.
As I understand it the four employees (conmen?) Chris Marshall. John Hallisey, Nigel Stott, Kevin Parr, have operated a similar company in the past, gone bust and opened up new companies to repeat the lucrative process. This is what I would be interested in putting a stop to. No doubt they will do this again and again.
Trading standards, the office of fair trading, the local council and the BBC are all aware of SPWEC and their fraudulent activities.

Taking money with no intention to supply goods or refunds
I can only endorse the other comments. I paid SPWEC £1500 for a system which was originally due to be installed on the 3rd August. This didn't happen with no explanation why, so I asked for a refund and I am still waiting. I believe they are now being investigated by Rochdale Trading Standards.
