First time I have needed a walking stick. Easy to choose website with plenty of options. Delighted with the one I chose especially the comfort of the handle. Efficient prompt delivery too.

Could not be without mine now

7 months in and can not fault it. Hated the idea of having one but eventually gave into the inevitable and purchased a walking stick.

Sadly my experience was not the best, involving the return of an item which cost me £9.10, when the actual item returned was £8.45. It would have been a better option to have kept it.

Please do not get me wrong, the sales staff were professional and courteous, however at no time, as I discussed the return of the incorrect sized ferrule was I warned that would put my original order below the price of the free P&P guarantee. Now remember these have already been delivered to me, in one parcel, at one cost.

The £26.99 folding walking stick, ferrule and Flexyfoot ice boot were all in one large envelope. The walking stick the majority of weight and size of parcel.

I returned a ferrule, charged originally at £8.45. My refund, in full, was £3.50. This is after returning the ferrule in unopened state, directly to Walkingsticks.co.uk via the Post Office, with signed for service costing £4.10.

Walkingsticks.co.uk had deducted £4.95 for P&P as they said with my return it was below the original free P&P costings. The Customer Care Team employee did advise that this was in their T&C’s and that the £3.50 for a £8.45 item was the full cost refunded. Even with me paying for it’s return.

Stunned, I said that this had not been pointed out when I discussed returning the item for a full refund. Sarah, the very polite lady did concur with me. In turn Sarah said she would feedback this information as I felt very disgruntled.

If I had known about these additional costs were to be incurred I would rather have kept the ferrule, perhaps given it to someone in need of this size item for their walking stick.

In the end I was paying for nothing. It is quite sad as I wished to purchase further items from the company as their delivery of orders are prompt, their products, (if kept and not returned), are very competitively priced and also excellent; very reliable and look great. I am new to having a requirement for a walking stick and didn’t wish to look ‘old’ as in only my forties.

The aftersales process is immediate and precise and, as I thought, would resolve perfectly the issue I experienced.

So one caveat - Buyer beware - read your small print if requiring a return and refund. The deficit in cost of return was only explained after the fact.

The two walking sticks, that ive bought recently, from walking sticks online, are really solid yet feminine and have enabled me to see this necessary item, almost as a fashion statement ! I have one fixed one and one fold up one, which is great to tuck in your handbag. I was so pleased , with the huge choice. Needing to use a walking stick to be able to be mobile and independent, was very hard , initially, for me to come to terms with. The old image of a wooden stick, felt frumpy and made me feel if I had had to use this type as though I would be making a declaration ' look at me, im disabled '. However, these have set me free, from that fear. I have so many comments about how nice they are, which stops me from feeling self conscious. Thyankyou :)

I bought the walking stick for my mother, she commented how well made it was and she like the design very much. The stick was adjustable and folded neatly into her shopping back making it very convenient when she travels by bus or car.

A very unusual and well thought out item Extremely light and comfortable to use. The light and alarms are particularly useful when walking our dogs because it takes away the need for a torch. I bought it as a present for my husband who has painful joints and he is very pleased with it in every way. He uses the radio whilst waiting on a bench when I am in the shops!!! He loves gadgets !!!! It was delivered very promptly and was a reasonable price too !!
