Hello,
First, the moving crew was nice and professional. Other than being told we would get a call when the crew left with an ETA letting us know what time between 8-9 they would be there. At 8:20 I had still not received a call and was very upset as we needed an early start and I knew if they hadn’t left by that time they wouldn’t make it by the time we were quoted as start time. We NEVER got an ETA call, but the crew showed up unannounced 30-40 minutes late. NOT A GOOD START. Especially since we had to leave at 9:40 to get to our closing which started at 10. Timing is important.
But what upsets me the most is that the original quote from Marcus from pics was 3-4K. He said it would be less if we sold or moved more of our things. We sold multiple large items and pre-moved large amounts of boxes ourselves. You’re crew cheif said “he’d NEVER seen a family move more stuff in all the sales he’d done.”(as we were still moving with 5 people as they were working. Marcus originally told me if we got rid of things to resend pictures so the move could be re-estimated. When I called to do that he said “not to bother with it.” When the movers saw they would only need one truck instead of two they asked if we wanted to load the other truck with that small amount? My wife specifically asked “would it save us money”. The employee that the crew said to talk to said “YES YOU WOULD DEFINITELY GET A REFUND.”
So she let them go with the one van. To our surprise and instead of the original quote of 3-4K, and after your worker said we would get a refund, we were charged $5028!!
Yes, the workers were good, but I would never spend that much on this service again or recommend it to someone else.
Especially knowing the huge discrepancy in the price quote. You should have quoted the HIGH possibility (which I can only imagine what it would have been if we let them load the second truck) and let us make a decision on the front end if we wanted to possibly spend that amount of money. Which we would not have.
Good movers, bad communication, and overpriced.
I would appreciate a call back regarding these discrepancies.

Hardworking and very helpful crew. They got us moved quickly!

Very good communication from start to finish. Excellent process and fantastic follow thru. Movers were on time, had a plan from the very beginning, and worked hard. Will definitely use again (if we ever move).

We used Black Tie Moving for the second time this week to finish moving everything out of our storage unit, and once again they were outstanding. We specifically requested Tony and Madison again because they were so great the first time, and this time Akelius joined the crew. All three were professional, hardworking, friendly, and took great care of our belongings. They worked efficiently, had great attitudes, and made the entire process stress-free. If you’re looking for a moving company, I highly recommend Black Tie Moving. We’ll definitely use them again in the future!

Todd, Shane and their crew! I can't say enough good things about them. Ive used them multiple times and they are always amazing every single time. They're always on time, professional, friendly, and somehow make what's normally stressful feel easy!

I don’t think it could have been worse than it was. I am through forever with this company and I would caution everyone to run away from them . It actually made us sick.

Quick and somewhat careful. Would like them to notice when boxes say not to be stacked on top of.

Our movers were punctual, professional and affable. They were very efficient. My only suggestion would be to cover mattress well as the top end of the mattress was damp because if the heavy rain. Otherwise a great job and would definitely hire them again.

We called and explained very accurately the amount of stuff we had and all to be packed up. They said they would send a packer and two movers. I explained that we had two households of furniture. Told them the bedrooms . Gave them a pretty detailed description of our moving needs. They sent too small of a truck and too little help. They were overwhelmed and short on packing materials and truck size. They took things apart and at the end, being 10:45pm never put them back together. At 11 pm we were putting our bed together so we had somewhere to sleep. The three guys doing the job were overwhelmed to say the least. Very nice young men but in over their heads. They took apart things farther than needed and were unable to put the back together before breaking them. We have a refrigerator/freezer not functioning because they broke a slide on the freezer drawer. They left furniture on its side handles not on upright freezer, no beds put together, all because they were under manned. This was largely due to head office not believing me when I told them my needs. Maybe someone should be hired to visit the home before and adjust manning needs to the job. For the money we paid I expected Black Tie service. Worst experience ever. I would never recommend your business.

I wasn't happy with my overall experience. Initially I wasn't going to leave a review but now that my dresser drawers will no longer remain close has made me want to post this. I noticed that in previous moves the said dresser required multiple movers to move it. But in their case it was only one person, which initially I thought wow he's going to move this just himself and a hand truck, I was borderline impressed because no one has ever done this but now noticing that he had to jump on the hand truck to get the dresser to stand up has compromised my mirrored dresser. That's just the latest in my experience with Black Tie Moving.

I chose this company with the intention of trying them out for a future move out of state but after this, that will not happen ever.

Let's talk about my fee was $300+ over the quoted amount, I had everything ready for them upon arrival and it took them so long just to load up from the pick-up point, then they went to lunch for over an hour which they marked as a 15 minute lunch break, and attempted to charge me for.

The move took 4 hours which should have taken 3 at the most because I literally moved only 4 rooms in a 4-bedroom house and a few items from the garage that were literally at the entrance of the garage.

I asked them to hook up my adjustable bases and one of the men said, "it was unplugged at pick up", like I thought I was making it easier, by unplugging it. They left the cords on the other adjustable bed at the old house, when I asked about having it connected.

I received a message from the General Moving Manager saying if I had an issue to give him a call and when I did during the move, in which he said, he would call back. "Still Waiting".

And to top it all my bed was dropped at the pick-up location and one of the gentlemen said "Man F*** Bro, I'm ready to leave. This was just a terrible experience.

Needed to add that I called to set up the initial move and was called back later the same day saying they were not available on the date that I requested but 3 days later at a 10% discount, I declined and by some miracle their availability opened. This was strange but I am not from here and was desperate to find a reputable company, but this is not the service that I received.

Use them at your own risk is all I am saying. Don't take my word for it.

The guys worked long hours and did everything with professionalism. They didn’t bump any walls and they put everything back together as it was before. Will definitely recommend these guys for any future move.

Having moved more than 12 times throughout my life as a military veteran, I know how important good planning and communication are during a move. The moment I saw the truck, I became concerned that it wouldn't be large enough to fit all of my belongings in a single trip—and unfortunately, that concern proved to be correct.

I called the representative several times to discuss the situation but never received a response. Although the moving crew worked hard and did their best, they arrived without boxes or packing tape because they had not been informed that some items still needed to be boxed. As a result, I was responsible for packing and transporting my lamps and several other items the crew did not feel comfortable moving.

While I appreciate the effort of the movers themselves, the overall logistics, communication, and coordination of the move fell well short of my expectations.

This was fast and painless. These guys were very efficient and professional. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. Note: This is the second time I’ve used this company. Completely satisfied with their work!

We have used Black Tie once before and had excellent service. So, I went directly to them again without even exploring any other movers. The gentlemen who packed my belongings were professional and very polite. In fact, they were fun to be around. From booking the long distance move, packing, delivery, and unboxing it was a 5 star move! I highly recommend them you won't be disappointed.

The team was on time, got the heaviest items with ease and were very professional and respectful of my property. I am extremely grateful and pleased with the services.

The Guys were respectful and Courteous, and Was about there Business, they handled our Personal itens with Extreme Care, Excellent job on Packing and unpacking and takng our beds down and reputting them back up again
