I honestly don't know where to begin when it comes to thanking Lorenzo and the entire team at Cardiff Veterinary Centre for the care they have given my little boy, Loki.

Loki has actually been under the care of Lorenzo and his team for three separate operations, and every single experience has been exceptional.

His first two procedures were to remove urinary crystals, and both surgeries were successful. From the initial consultations, through the procedures and the aftercare, Loki was always treated with such kindness and professionalism. The team kept me informed throughout and made what were incredibly worrying experiences much easier to deal with.

Then, unfortunately, Loki completely tore his cruciate ligament and required a CCWO- a major orthopaedic procedure involving an osteotomy of the tibia and plate fixation.
After already having such a positive experience with Lorenzo and the team, there was absolutely nobody else I would have wanted to perform this surgery, even though i had explored other options whilst researching the procedure, I wanted to maintain the relationship we had with our local surgeon as he is always on hand for any complications or questions, and this practice runs 24/7, which is added peace of mind.

As you can imagine, the surgery and recovery were incredibly daunting for me, and I was absolutely terrified about getting everything right for him.

From the very beginning, Lorenzo gave me complete confidence. He explained everything clearly, answered my endless questions and, most importantly, treated Loki as an individual rather than simply another patient.

The surgery itself went brilliantly, but it was the weeks afterwards that were the biggest challenge. Loki required very strict restrictions and around-the-clock care, and I was constantly worried about every little movement, step, slip or unexpected moment. I am an enormous worrier so I cried my eyes out and probably asked more questions than most people would! 😂 Yet throughout the entire process, Lorenzo remained incredibly patient, reassuring and supportive.

I would also like to highlight that Loki experienced no infection, wound problems or complications whatsoever following such a major procedure, which is a true testament to Lorenzo's surgical expertise and the professionalism and care of the entire team.

At Loki's latest check, around 9½ weeks post-op, we had the news I had been desperately hoping for- His bone is 100% healed. 🦴❤️

Lorenzo was also extremely pleased with Loki's progress and muscle development, telling me that the muscle on his operated leg is now actually bigger than the other leg. He even told me that I had done a "fantastic job following his post-op advice."

That meant more to me than I can put into words after the months of care, worry and sleepless nights that went into Loki's recovery.

Lorenzo has been absolutely amazing from the day of surgery right through to his follow-up appointments. His knowledge, skill, patience and genuine care for both his patients and their owners are exceptional. I always felt that Loki was in the safest possible hands, and that I could ask anything without ever feeling like I was being a nuisance.

I also want to say a huge thank you to every member of the team at Cardiff Veterinary Centre who has looked after Loki throughout all three of his procedures. From caring for him clinically to receptionist Emma for reassuring me when I was worried, everyone has played a part in getting us to where we are today.

Having a dog undergo surgery is incredibly stressful, but having a team you trust makes such a huge difference. Knowing that Loki had already had two successful procedures with Lorenzo made the decision to proceed with his cruciate surgery much less frightening for me.

Loki's recovery has been a huge journey, but seeing him walking so well again and hearing that his bone is completely healed has made every difficult day worthwhile.

I will always be incredibly grateful that we found Lorenzo and that Loki was given the care, expertise and compassion he has received over the years.

Thank you, Lorenzo, and thank you to the whole team. You have helped give Loki his life back, and I will never forget that. ❤️🐾

Excellent experience with my ragdolls, Milo and Earl. Lorenzo and his team were excellent with my cats, really delighted with the service they provide.

I had to rush my cat into CVC without an appointment because she obviously needed emergency treatment. The centre is open 24 hours and 10 mins away from where I live, which was very lucky for me. I could park outside easily, it was calm and quiet inside, a vet nurse rushed out to help me with my cat and she was seen immediately, which saved her life as she had a lung collapse. I have had many bad experiences at other vets when my cats needed emergency treatment - from waiting to be seen while the vet played with puppies and didn't spot the severity, to having to drive across Cardiff in rush hour to an emergency centre, which was precious time lost. The pricing was transparent and CVS is an independent vets, which is also great news. The receptionist staff were very friendly and helpful and I was able to call any time for advice, which was such a help. I'm very grateful to Lorenzo and CVS for saving my cat's life 👏

Well , this is a totally honest review. I came here as I was with vets who did not diagnose my dogs tumour and left him crying in pain. CVC were able to diagnose and biopsy and saw him quickly. He was referred to a specialist centre. The vets were great ...but some have left and that is a shame as I / we need continuity of care. So yes I would recommend.

I recently changed vet practices due to pricing issues and heard about Cardiff Vet Centre, so I gave them a call to see if I could register. The lady who answered the phone was more than happy to help and registered me over the phone with no fuss at all.

I explained that my dog needed a booster and they were able to book us in very quickly. The vet we saw was a wonderful man—so kind, gentle, and reassuring with my dog, which really put me at ease.

I also asked about flea and worming treatments, and the receptionist took the time to explain their healthcare plan clearly and thoroughly. It made perfect sense, and I signed up on the day. It’s honestly made my life a little bit easier knowing everything is covered.

I am devastated by my experience with Cardiff Veterinary Centre following the death of my cat, Arthur, who was only two years old.

Your 24-hour vet was the first to see Arthur and told us he needed immediate treatment. We were given a written quote with a set price, which I photographed, and we were misled into believing there was a strong chance of full recovery. At no point was euthanasia discussed or offered at that stage.

The following day, the head vet Lorenzo called to say the cost would increase by £600, taking the total to over £2,000. When I went into the practice in person and spoke directly with Lorenzo, he asked me “Were you offered euthanasia?” and stated that he would not have operated at all based on Arthur’s blood results.

Lorenzo then said that the fee could be waived because the 24-hour vet had not put the correct paperwork in place. However, by this point, Arthur had already been through the operation, making this offer both meaningless and deeply upsetting.

This only highlighted how disorganised and contradictory the care had been.
Arthur survived the operation, only to die at home four days later.

I have effectively paid £2,000 for my cat to be brought back to life and then die twice.
Since then, I have tried to raise these serious concerns with the practice manager, Emily. After one dismissive reply suggesting I had “misunderstood” due to it being an emotional time, she has ignored all further emails. Being ignored after the death of a young pet, especially when there are clear inconsistencies and unanswered questions, is appalling and deeply unprofessional.

There was misleading information, contradictory advice, poor internal communication, no accountability, and blame subtly pushed back onto us as owners. To then be ignored by management is frankly disgusting.

This experience has caused immense emotional distress on top of the loss of my cat. Based on my experience,

DO NOT TRUST THIS VETERINARY CENTRE,

particularly in emergency or critical situations.

I’ve only been registered with this veterinary practice for a short while, but in the space of 4 consultations I couldn’t recommend them more, with prices that are a lot more reasonable in comparison to others. Every vet that has seen to my pets have been so friendly and I’ve never felt so welcome. I unfortunately had to put my elderly cat to sleep after 14 cherished years, the vet who saw to my cat was so friendly and put my cat to sleep with dignity, allowed me and my mother to mourn whilst being so gentle and yet gave us space. We were then sent a condolence card via the post which was really special and it meant a lot. Thank you so much ❤️

Super vet centre with lovely staff and excellent facilities. The best vet centre I’ve ever taken a dog. I totally recommend them.

Had my dog booked in but was I so I informed them, they immediately tried to take my deposit even though I had never been informed of the cancellation policy. This was on top of trying to get me to book a double consultation, twice the price, when I single was clearly all that was needed.
This vets are only interested in your money, to take as much off you as they can.

I'm really glad I've found this place for my dog and cats. The staff are lovely and friendly, it's easy to park right outside, the vets treat my pets with compassion and care.

Great experience, great team very welcoming
