We loved our (first) cruise. The Costa Smeralda is a very nice and well kept cruise ship. The activities, shows, food, drinks, and everything else, were all very good. Honestly, although we were hesitant to try a cruise, we were very pleasantly surprised. We will certainly do it again, and if possible, again with Costa Smeralda. One aspect that impressed us the most, was the staff. All were excellent, efficient and friendly. We would like to recognize our dedicated waiter (Danrisky, working in Colombina restaurant) and our room attendant (Mustafa, cabin 16067), who were both accommodating, friendly and made our visit all the better. We easily booked an 8-day, 7-night Mediterranean cruise on the Costa Smeralda through the Cruise Direct platform, and my friends and I absolutely loved it. Since I had never traveled on a cruise before, I was initially worried about whether the service and dining would be good enough, and also concerned about whether the ship’s standard was high. I repeatedly checked reviews on the platform, and after comparing, we finally chose the Smeralda. It turned out to be a wonderful ship—stylish, modern, and elegant in design, with excellent service and dining. What impressed me even more is that it’s an LNG-powered cruise ship, which shows that it is environmentally friendly and advanced. The four of us enjoyed a relaxing and delightful cruise vacation together.
Very good experience for the first time. We enjoyed the cruise. The food is excellent, in port you have time to visit the cities. We hope it's not the last time when we go in cruise. But very disappointed that when I paid for the cruise I received a message that is fully paid, I wasn't informed about Hotel service charge. They charged every day 11€ by person, and at the end this was 132€. They didn't permit the debarkation, and forced us to pay this mandatory tax.
