High quality, delivered on time
I am writing to provide constructive feedback regarding my recent business card order. I want to highlight some layout changes that happen during production. These changes were avoidable, and speak to the "system" allowing errors, not the people who care about their work product. 1. Front Layout: Incorrect Text Proportions My main priority is maintaining precise visual ratios and perspectives. In my original design, the text has generous margins around the edges of the card. On the physical cards, my name and job title are slightly larger than I'd originally intended. The text expands too close to the outer edges. This reduces the negative space and changes the balanced proportions I intend to keep. 2. Back Layout: Misaligned Logo The small round logo on the back of the card is slightly off-centre, rather than perfectly centred within its layout space as intended. It's a tiny detail, one that we should have picked up in the creative process. I share the responsibility here. 3. Embossing Choices and Technical Focus During our setup conversations, the focus stays heavily on the technical limits of embossing. This focus seems to happen at the expense of our primary goal: keeping accurate dimensions and ratios. The final embossing effect is very minimal. It is also unclear why we do not emboss the simple circular logo on the front, which seems like a natural choice for this finish. A text colourisation was incorrectly edited too. These layout changes affect the perspective of the card. When a customer explicitly requests that proportions take priority, the production process needs to protect those exact spatial ratios.
