Words cannot express how incredible this trip is. I went to EDventure 2025 knowing no one and left with life long friendship and a plan to come back in 2026! This trip is a must go for every educator or educator at heart that is looking for joy, community, laughter, and service after a long school year. Between the kids, the safari, learning the history, and the wine; this is the trip of a lifetime!

From the beginning, Jocelyn made us feel welcomed and cared for. Her passion for the “kiddos” was contagious, and her energy set the tone for an incredible camp experience. She went above and beyond to make sure our time in Cape Town was special, from amazing food recommendations to arranging unforgettable tours and adventures.

EDventure was the perfect balance of professional growth, meaningful work, cultural immersion, and adventure. I loved working alongside educators from different roles and professional backgrounds, all coming together to encourage students to find their voices and advocate for their own academic success.

Outside of camp, every detail, from the lodging and home-cooked breakfasts to the South African braai and thoughtfully curated activities, made me feel truly immersed in the beauty and culture of Cape Town.

I left with new connections, unforgettable memories, a deeper appreciation for South Africa!🇿🇦💙

Logan and Friends gave me an undeniably beautiful travel experience. They showed their commitment to service even before I got there by keeping up with my flight manifest and adjusting my airport pick up when I missed my connecting flight to Cape Town. Everything from the accommodations to the excursion schedule was well organized with intention and care and contributed greatly to the guests' comfort and enjoyment. The Logan and Friends founder, Jocelyn, was an absolute gem while we were out there. On camp days, she came with so much enthusiasm and passion for the "kiddos", as she calls them, that anyone in her presence couldn't help but be affected. Her excitement and engagement set the tone for the educators and helped the kids feel welcome and emboldened as they stepped into camp. She was also available to provided outstanding recommendations for food and activities during our free days, and arranged THE BEST guides for our tours across the peninsula. To say I had a awesome time is a great understatement and I could not have chosen a better company to travel with.

My time with Jocelyn Logan-Friends was absolutely fabulous! Every detail: accommodations,excursions, meals, entertainment, you name it, was met with EXCELLENCE! Platinum Service! I was initially concerned about the cost, however after being a part of the trip, I found that this was a bargain! A time was had and I will definitely be traveling with Logan-Friends again!

Joceyln curated a beautiful, black-centered, Cape Town experience! We encountered history, visited by motorcoach to see nature up close, and partied in cool spaces. She planned amazing tours to ensure we would see the best of the beautiful city.

I left with a deep understanding of the history of the Cape. Jocelyn's planning was so impeccable that I am encouraging my daughter (mid-20s) to go on the trip alone.

Educators will love the experience with the children. I learned so much from them. I am still reflecting on my experience.

I truly appreciated the level of consideration Jocelyn gives to detail. For example, I have a lot of food allergies, and Jocelyn always made sure I had alternative food to eat on days when meals were included.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Logan-Friend for several years at the U.S. Department of Education while she was pursuing her Ph.D., and I was immediately impressed by her brilliance, creativity, and unwavering commitment to improving education. It comes as no surprise that her Edventure program
in Cape Town is such a remarkable success.
This program is far more than an unforgettable tour of Cape Town’s iconic sites lead by local expert guides and storytellers. It is an immersive experience where participants spend four days working alongside primary and middle school students, helping them find their voices. Through collaboration, students identify meaningful improvements for their schools, build consensus around achievable solutions, and confidently present their ideas to their peers and school principals. Watching quiet, hesitant children grow into confident leaders is truly inspiring.
The program also celebrates the arts, with accomplished local creatives guiding students in music, dance, and painting. These experiences spark confidence, creativity, and joy while showcasing the remarkable talents of the children.

South Africa trip was everything! ❤️
Even though my trip was shorter than everyone else's, I had an amazing time from start to finish. The hotel, the safari, the dinners, the beautiful views, and most importantly, getting to visit the schools made this experience so special.
I loved the schools that were chosen. Each one had something unique to offer, and I learned so much from both the educators and the students. Their ideas, passion, and creativity were truly inspiring!!!!! ( They really made my heart melt)

This experience was made great because of the vision of the creator. Each day was carefully cultivated to enhance the true reason behind the trip, to build lasting relationships with the children and teach them that they have the power to make change happen and that their voices and opinions matter. Not only that but the experience was one that I will cherish and tell my friends and family about. The meaningful relationships with my fellow travelers that was created was truly amazing. Strong black women/men coming together in the spirit of love, encouragement and truly wanting to make a difference in the lives of others.

EDventure 2026 was more than expected and left nothing to be desired. It was the perfect storm of work-life balance!

It provided the opportunity to work on your professional craft while interacting with students in ways that allowed them to think, speak, and truly be heard. If that was all the experience offered, it would have been enough.

However, that's not how the experience ends.

You are greeted with warmth, meaningful experiences, and vibes that reset your nervous system. The planned activities were all five-star experiences. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The recommended activities and suggestions also gave participants the freedom to personally curate additional adventures and experiences based on their own interests and preferences.

EDventure 2027 is waiting for you!

EDventure 2026 was all that I imagined and more. Each day was filled with joy, wonder, and gratitude. The history, the educators, the views, the kiddos, the excursions, the wine, the food...every single experience and interaction was incredible. Jocelyn's attention to detail and thoughtfulness in planning EDventure was evident - she is amazing!! 100 out of 10!!!

Going to EDventure 2026 was the most life changing experience I’ve had next to being born. I’ve always wanted to visit Africa and go to the motherland but never thought I would get an opportunity like this one. Dr.Jocelyn reached out to me on Instagram and 6 months later I was in Africa meeting and making new friends, experiencing the culture trying new delicious food and being engulfed in the culture in Cape Town in ways I never imagined. Whether it was watching soccer with the locals, having a group drumming session. Staying at Curiosity where people truly come as strangers and leave as friends. Going to Robin island to learn from people who were held captive there, after going on the black route walking tour where we learned about Apartheid and how it impacted Africa as a whole. Being in camp with the kids was by far one of the most rewarding moments. We went on tours we ate Braai (a traditional African cuisine). The wine tour. Then the Safari!!!! Life changing. Words really don’t begin to describe the way this trip changed my life in all the best ways. I will be making it a top priority to go back next year.

My experience with Logan & Friends can be described as nothing less than amazing. From the information given to the excursions and accommodations provided during my stay. Kiddos camp was refreshingly eye opening and the FOOD was delicious. Let's not forget the company. Being in the presence of such great people was exhilarating. 10 out of 10 would definitely do again and again and again!

L&F EDventure 2026 exceeded my expectations! It was the perfect combo of working with students- elevating their voice and supporting change - and participating in curated tours and activities. Jocelyn was accessible for questions before and during the trip. The lodging accommodations helped to reinforce the feeling of home - from SA braii (community bbq), to home cooked daily breakfasts, I felt immersed in the Cape Town community that enhanced my experience. I’ll def be back!

We stayed at the Curiosity Hotel, where the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Our knowledgeable tour guides brought South Africa's history and culture to life, and the itinerary was incredible. Highlights included day camps with high school and middle school students, a safari, wine tasting, and exploring the breathtaking beauty of Cape Town.

I also appreciated how safe I felt throughout the trip while traveling with our group. As an added bonus, the U.S. dollar goes a long way in South Africa, making the experience an excellent value.
