This basket replaces one with a torn screen in the bottom of the basket. The design seems to be an improvement over what was there originally. Tablets go into the basket and the screen keeps undissolved bleach particles from entering the dispensing line, check valve or opening to the treatment unit. In my case, the entrance to the treatment tank was blocked and would not allow the pump to dispense the chlorine solution past the check valve and into the tank. The condition of the screen should be checked each time new tablets are added.
