This was a perfect replacement for my Edson side-post mount throttle from 1989. Very well made item. Only negative is that the cover is plastic. I wish there was a metal, or other more durable material, option.

Exactly what I needed for my sailboat throttle. I always keep a spare as I like to keep my transmission in reverse when I sail, and it doesn't like going from reverse to neutral when I go to start the engine. Consequently, it breaks.

well I bought this to replace my old side mount engine control throttle. however I have not installed this new one yet as it is not at all compatable with the factory installed equipment. this requires cutting a whole new hole through the fiberglass and has no comparable blueprint to follow as to setting it up within existing conditions. I will need a technician from our boat yard to assist me with this because it will require not only installing but first cutting a hole into the fiberglass in order to mount this new throttle control and it will now require fully adjusting the throttle cables and controls. and the instructions in the 2 or 3 pages that are in English are vague and not very helpful. once this is installed properly by the diesel tech at our boat yard im sure it will be great. but don't buy this expecting to have an easy change of throttle control or replacement.....this requires a very involved and professional installation process

unfortunately the throttle shift control does not fit 0n the angled mounting surface on my sailboat. However, the service from Jody in customer service and Tim in technical was outstanding. Tim went out of his way to see if the problems with installation I was seeing could be resolved. Great job to the people Marine Parts Source. I will look to them when I need parts in the future
